Worksplate PECKETT & SONS LTD BRISTOL No 1574 1920 ex M5 0-4-0 ST built to standard gauge with an open top cab and supplied new to the Gas Light & Coke Company, Beckton Essex, numbered No9. The Locomotive was scrapped in 1967. Oval engraved brass measures 15.25in x 8.5in, mounted on a display board along with its cast brass No9 numberplate, also included are various photographs and the original purchase receipt from North Thames Gas.
Y Henry Jacob Burch Jnr (1763-1834)- a portrait miniature on ivory of a gentleman, strawberry blond hair, black coat, set in a gilt pendant frame with solid reverse, image 7cms high, 8.5cms high overall. Provenance; purchased from Christine Archibald New York- original receipt states that the frame contains a Burch trade card- case unopened. Condition Report: Colours have muted from sunlight and with some fading- case with typical wear from handling Small oval area top the left of his face catches the light from different angles as a slightly lighter colour- this may be water ingress- or a reaction of the paint to the surface over time? One small fleck of white paint to the lower right corner and some other very small flecks to the upper right quadrant. Very fine craquelure in concentrated areas scattered throughout. An early Victorian mahogany wardrobe, circa 1850, of breakfront outline, the moulded cornice above a pair of panelled doors enclosing a fitted interior with arrangement of drawers, flanked by a further pair of panelled doors, and each above three frieze drawers and plinth base, 223cm high, 235cm wide, 56cm deep Condition Report: Overall- areas are very dry- and some look to have become damp in the past- sides very dry- may require polish before installing in domestic setting. Main two doors with slight warp. Panels have also moved in frames- one with light now visible to gap from interior. With key- but lock plates look to have later wooden fillets covering them suggesting they may have been replaced.
