12.5 x 8 cm card signed by Canadian Lt Col John Keefer Mahony VC CD. On 24 May 1944 Major Mahony led his company across the Melfa River in Italy under heavy artillery fire. His task was to secure a bridgehead for the 1st Canadian Corps to break through the Adolf Hitler Line. Threatened by vastly superior forces, Mahony?s company managed to hold the bridgehead for 5 hours until reinforcements arrived. In 2 German counter attacks, his men destroyed 3 enemy self propelled guns and a tank - a significant feat considering they had no anti - tank guns! He suffered 3 wounds, but inspired his men and directed the fire of the light anti - tank weapons on hand. For his exemplary leadership and courage in this action, Major Mahony was awarded the Victoria Cross. Lt Col Mahony died in London, Ontario 15.12.1990.An extremely rare signature. Good condition.

A Burlington ware character jug, a Portuguese pig character jug and a collection of Wedgwood pale blue Jasper ware, to include vases, trinket dishes, plates, etc CONDITION REPORTS Pig with light general wear, approx. 24 cm high, generally appears sound. Character jug with quite a lot of crazing and some chips. Wedgwood items with general wear and scufs, and some dirt, lid of shaped box broken and re-glued. Christmas plates are 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972 & 1973.

A Moorcroft pottery pin dish, decorated with poppy, a Moorcroft pottery bottle shaped vase decorated with poppy, a Staffordshire pottery spill vase of a milkmaid and cow, a Staffordshire pottery spaniel and a Derby vase raised on four paw feet to shaped plinth base (cover missing) CONDITION REPORTS Moorcroft vase approx 23.5cm high - light general but overall appears OK. Pin dish 11.5cm diameter - some light general wear and scuffs, overall appears OK. Derby vase with chips and cracks. Spaniel with chips, crazing. Spill vase with crazing, wear, some frits and appears to have some restoration to neck.

Few scuffs. Variations to the backstamps (wording / colour and style of lettering varies slightly). Wooden lid is chipped. Overall condition however, appears reasonably good.

Some splits and chips and slight warping. Light general wear and scuffs. Interior divider missing. Some splits to wood. Some warping. Some separating at joins, some glue visible. Overall appearance - in tidy condition. 24.5 x 14.5cm.

Overall with some light general wear and dirt, some slight browning and possibly some fading, generally appear in reasonably good order. Frames with various chips and splits but overall colour appears reasonable.
