A French gilt-bronze mounted breche violette marble pedestal column, late 19th century, with a Corinthian capital and stepped, square base, losses to foot of shaft, 136.5cm highCondition Report: The top plateau is missing and there are two protruding brass dowels where the top would have originally been secured into place. The gilt capital and other mounts to the base of the shaft and plinth have light wear and tarnishing consistent with age and use. The top of the shaft with some nibbled to the edge where it joins the capital. There is a small area to the middle of the column shaft with a small amount of in-fill. There is a section of loss to the foot of the shaft and two further chips also to the foot. The plinth base with nicks and losses to the leading edges and corners. Some of these losses have been infilled. The top dimensions are: diagonal across the top - 33.3cm; wide left-->right - 26.5cm.

The mirrors are intact, original and with out damage. The gilt frames to the mirrors and the escutcheon with some tarnish. The back edge of the box with some surface flaking to varnish. The interior with light wear consistent with age and use. The bottles are original, with stoppers and are in good condition. The spring release works but is stiff. Key present. The letter rack: good overall condition with very minor wear and knocks to be expected with age and use.

The Dinner Service of Anton Mosimann: A modern Wedgwood porcelain 'Astbury Black' pattern dinner service, printed marks, comprising: ten dinner plates, ten soup bowls, ten salad plates, a teapot and cover, a two-handled sugar bowl and cover, a creamer, ten tea cups with matching saucers, and ten side plates (lot)Provenance: The property of Anton Mosimann OBE DL.Footnotes: Note: Anton Mosimann OBE DL (b.1947) is a Swiss chef and restaurateur. He is perhaps best known as a former Maitre Chef de Cuisines at the Dorchester Hotel in London, an appointment he held from 1975 (aged 28) until 1988, during which time the restaurant at the Dorchester became the first outside France to achieve a two star rating in the Michelin Guide. In 2000 Mosimann received the Royal Warrant of Appointment to HRH Prince of Wales (now HM Charles III) for catering. Mosimann has cooked for five British Prime Ministers and four presidents of the U.S.A., as well as four generations of the British royal family, and notably at the evening reception of the wedding of HRH Prince William to Catherine Middleton in 2011. Condition Report: This service is in overall very good condition with few signs of wear or use, amounting to the occasional light scratch to the porcelain and minor wear to footrims. Condition Report: In very good condition overall. This trunk has not had heavy use however there are some inevitable knocks, scratches and marks to the exterior in areas overall. Notably the handles are fully intact and have a pleasing blonde lightly worn patina, which is rare for a trunk of this age. The interior in very good overall condition, with some inevitable minor marks and blemishes to the drawers. The hat/shoe case with minor bowing to lid. The hangers and curtain frame in very good condition. The fabric of the curtain however with discolouration. The mechanism for clothes rail is in good functional order. There is a vacant space beneath clothes rail which would have originally held a case, but the strap remains in very good condition. The back wall of the left side of the interior with minor white residue, in need of a light clean. No key.

A slice of fruit cake from the wedding reception at Buckingham Palace to celebrate the marriage of Princess Elizabeth (Queen Elizabeth II) and Philip Mountbatten, (Duke of Edinburgh), 1947, the cake in a white cardboard presentation box with silvered crown lettering to the top: EP / BUCKINGHAM PALACE / 20TH NOVEMBER 1947, not sealed, the box 3cm high, 6.8cm wide, 10.5cm deepProvenance: By repute, presented to Gianna Maidment while living at 6 Wilton Place, thence by descent to the present owner. Footnotes: Note: Designed by a Mr Schur, chief confectioner at McVitie and Price Ltd, and intricately decorated, the lavish four-tier wedding cake of Princess Elizabeth and Philip Mountbatten stood at 9ft-tall. As rationing was still underway, the ingredients for the 500lb fruitcake were flown to the UK from South Africa and Australia, where they had been donated, earning it the nickname 'the 10,000 mile cake'. It was cut by Prince Philip with his ceremonial sword and produced 2000 slices for guests, with hundreds further sent with hand-written notes to various charities and organisations across the globe.Condition Report: The exterior of the box has a brown stain to the top of the cover which continues down the top edge. Wear to the leading edges and corners of the box and slight lifting to the applied paper on the top short edge. The interior of the cover is discoloured brown overall with some dark stains where there has been contact with the cake. The cover generally with light surface dirt to expected with age and handling. The main body of the box holding the cake: the front edge is not attached on the left and right side. There is discolouration and staining to all sides and underneath. The paper doily is quite perished and discoloured overall. It is extremely fragile. The cake is wrapped in a plastic wrapper which is partially perished. The cake itself is intact but with broken and loose areas.

Overall there is a general consistency of surface dirt and light wear including scratches, the colours of the enamels have faded or been worn away on a few pieces, and some others have perceptible firing flaws. Specific damages are listed as follows: One of the two large octagonal meat platters has a dirt-filled crack running through the middle. The large two handled footed dish has an old dirt-filled chip to one handle. The rectangular cover for one tureen has an old-repaired finial with several visible dirt-filled cracks. One sauce boat and stand have cracks through the middle. Of the nineteen large soup bowls, nine have hairline cracks or flat chips to the rims. Of the sixty-two dinner plates, twenty-three have hairline cracks or chips to the rims. Of the twenty-seven side plates, one is broken in half and ten have hairline cracks or flat chips to the rim.

A pair of Continental gilt-bronze mounted glass urns, early 20th century, each with lanceolate leaf cast rim above Campana bodies with hobnail design, with twin scrolling foliate handles issuing from female masks, on fluted socle with laurel leaf rim, on square verde antico plinths mounted with wreaths, winged figures and stiff leaf border, on toupie feet, 48.5cm high (2) Condition Report: One urn has a large chip to the side of the top of the pedestal. There is another chip to the bottom corner of the base. Further nibbles to the leading edges. The mounts with light rubbing and tarnishing. One handle is slightly loose. The second urn has several restored areas including the vertical edge of the central block of the pedestal, all corners of the base and two corners of the top beneath the urn base. This top marble section also has a crack to two sides which might run through the section but is not possible to ascertain without removing the urn. At present it is stable. The mounts with light tarnishing and rubbing to be expected with age and use. One handle is a little loose.

They have been examined under a UV light and there are no apparent cracks or repairs to the bodies. There is some surface dirt in small patches which is only really visible under a UV light. One or two small nicks to the enamel decoration. The wing of one dragon is missing and the other wings have some repairs and overpainting. The necks also with repairs and nicks to the tails. The gilt-bronze mounts have not been removed but the rims of the vases beneath the mounts appear to have been repainted and possibly repaired. The mounts generally in good condition. The undersides drilled to accommodate an electric wire. The underside to one vase is visible, the other is covered by a metal disc.
