York and Lancaster Regiment, Edward VII set of twelve fish forks and twelve fish knives, London hallmark, dated 1901, mm Hunt & Roskell Ltd, forks approx 548 gms, knives 776 gms, together with two Victorian serving spoons, London hallmark dated 1841, mm Benjamin Smith and two silver mustard spoons one is London hallmark dated 1866 and the other marks are rubbed, approx 264 gms, all bear the regimental insignia (84th Regiment of foot amalgamated with the 65th in 1881 to become the York and Lancaster Regiment). Note: Major Brian Ferguson Watts (1925-2019) served with Durham Light Infantry, York and Lancaster Regiment and the 2/10 Gurkha Rifles. He was operational in Malaya, India, Nepal, Greece, Swaziland and Germany, where he met his wife. He was much admired and respected by his colleagues, becoming one of the youngest majors in the British Army at the time. After retirement from active service he worked as Station Staff Officer in Detmold Germany and later was the secretary of the Weser Vale Hunt between 1969 and 1980, he was a great horseman and enjoyed riding to hounds.

Antique 18ct yellow gold ruby and diamond ring, Birmingham hallmark, dated 1864, the ring set with three pigeon blood rubies the centre stone approx 5 x 3.75mm the outer stones approx 3.8 x 3mm, further set with twelve pts of eight-cut diamonds, size O, approx 4.76 gms Note: Rubies have light surface abrasion and the shank shows some sign of wear and resizing, see images.

1965 Vintage Rolex GMT-MASTER Superlative Chronometer Wristwatch with Pepsi bezel on oyster bracelet. Rolex model 1675 serial no. 1290259. The watch in our opinion is in very good condition for the year. The watch is moving forward at time of describing and engraved W. B .WENTZ to the case. The case shows minor wear with some light scratches to the glass, face in very good condition with bright bezel (bezel possibly later than the watch). The bracelet numbered 7836/20 is in good overall condition with light scratches and will fit a wrist of 19cms. This lot includes two Rolex boxes and two Rolex desk pads, and Identity cards of W.B.Wentz as well as comprehensive paperwork relating to the servicing of the watch in Geneva - Dr Wentz was on the Rolex 'white list' and thus the watch was subject to service and repair at the factory in Geneva with no additional charges. Provenance The Rolex GMT-Master wristwatch was originally designed in collaboration with Pan American Airways and issued by the airline to their crews on long-haul flights. To include a full file of correspondence with Rolex Geneva including service receipts and letters. Extracts include; 'we have been wondering whether you are still working in your interesting profession involving, we believe we recall, the time of missiles' and a letter to the director of Rolex: Dear Mr. Jeanneret: 2nd April 1974. Your letter of 3 October 1972 asked me to test the new non-expanding bracelet you installed on my GMT Master watch. I have. It's been used continually. Bracelet and watch have been diving in the Caribbean and Pacific, crashed several times in motorcycle spills in the California desert, and just generally given a bad time. Both worked perfectly. But what else do you expect, they are Rolex products? I recently spent 10 days lecturing at the U.S. Submarine Base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. My students were an interesting mix of officers--submariners, fighter pilots, and a couple of Marines. Many wore Rolex watches. Those who did were all unofficial salesmen. (The military, of course, is not gentle with the use of your products.) They truly liked their Rolex'. Thanks for the fine bracelet. A collection of Aynsley cobalt blue and gilt decorated dinner and tea wares to include coffee cans, soup bowls, plates, etc CONDITION REPORTS Most pieces sound with light wear and tear conducive with age and use however some pieces particularly the larger plates obviously more used and with more extensive wear to the transfer decoration and the gilding. A 19th Century black lacquered and gilt decorated Chinese Qing Dynasty polychrome painted fan decorated with multiple figures in court setting (faces superimposed on ivory, some flags and cloth elements of the picture superimposed on silk and clothing) CONDITION REPORTS Some light surface scratches to the sticks and guards. The leaf has wear and areas of loss to the paint at the creases. Wear to the edge of the fan and some small areas of loss to the banding at the edge. Some minor splits to the edge of the leaf as well. Some fraying and discoluration to the silk used for the clothes on the figures. General wear and tear commensurate with age and use. A Victorian single barrel breech loading shotgun, the octagonal Damascus barrel inscribed "Reilly, 205, New Oxford St, London" with unusual hammer action, underside of barrel stamped "....S&T...." with figured walnut stock 26" barrel (no identifying numbers) CONDITION REPORTS Overall the gun appears in good condition though the stock has signs of wear and tear conducive with age i.e. some light staining and dents, etc. The metal work appears nicely engraved, the Damascus barrel again with some wear conducive with age and use although basically sound.
