DANIEL & JOHN WELLBY; a late Victorian hallmarked silver three piece tea set, comprising a swag and acanthus decorated baluster teapot with hinged domed lid with acorn finial and ebonised wooden handle raised on spreading circular foot, height 30.5cm, a footed twin handled sugar bowl and a cream jug, combined approx 69ozt. CONDITION REPORT: The lid of the teapot is slightly sprung and there is a gap when it is closed, surface scratches and light wear throughout, good clear crisp hallmarks a couple of tiny seam dents to the body of the teapot near the base of the handle each approx 6mm, general surface wear throughout but the jug and bowl both shows traces of the original gilt washed interior.
JOHN COLLARD VICKERY; a pair of George V hallmarked silver candlesticks with bell shaped sconces above shaped square stepped loaded bases with foliate scroll decoration, Birmingham 1912, height 11.5cm, and a menorah surmounted with Star of David, with a servant light attached to hexagonal ovoid stem above oval lobed base on four feet, Alexander Smith, Birmingham 1959, span 25.5cm (3). CONDITION REPORT: The menora is in good condition. The underneath pad bases of the candlesticks are missing leaving a rough finish. All three pieces are tarnished. MARTIN HALL & CO; a Victorian hallmarked silver shaped circular fruit basket elaborately embossed with foliate scrolls and floral motifs within scroll border, above similarly decorated spreading lobed foot, with pierced and cast swing loop handle, Sheffield 1900, diameter 26.5cm, approx 22ozt. CONDITION REPORT: Light surface scratches, but overall in good condition
A Hungarian 800 silver three sectioned wooden lined cigarette box of plain rectangular form with waisted sides, 18.4 x 13.3cm, also a Victorian hallmarked silver oval open salt with crimped rim on outswept hoof feet with associated blue glass liner, also two pairs of white metal sugar nips, a sugar shovel and scent bottle sleeve (6). CONDITION REPORT: Hungarian box: Slight tarnishing to the surface, and light scratches.
A group of collectors' items to include an Art Deco chromed table light modelled as a female nude holding a bowl on a rectangular white marble base, 19cm, a cold painted lead figure of reclining lady, a further figure of seated nude with detachable dress, a figure of skater (af), and an electroplated Art Nouveau style chamber stick modelled as a nymph and serpent, length 16.5cm, also a reproduction cast iron rocking horse.
A 9ct rose gold Edwardian brooch in suffragette colours, the central faceted oval purple stone surrounded by half seed pearls and tiny green stones with half seed pearl set scrolled ends, approx 6.5g. CONDITION REPORT: One of the pearls has been split and damaged, light wear overall. Overall length is 4.5cm, central cluster is 1.8 X 1.4cm.
ROLEX; a gentleman's 9ct yellow gold wristwatch, the circular dial set with Arabic numerals and seconds outer ring, the seventeen jewel movement no.69249, diameter 3.4cm excluding winding crown, on replaced strap, not boxed, currently not working. CONDITION REPORT: The watch is currently not working, light surface scratches to the case and a scratch to the centre of the domed glass, winding crown appears to be a replacement.
A good early Victorian mahogany extending dining table, the rounded rectangular top with three broad leaves raised on lobed tapering ring turned legs to brass caps and castors, length when extended approx 375cm. CONDITION REPORT: Length without leaves 160cm. Width 137cm. Heavily polished and presented in good order order with light surface scratches, table does not require clips. The leaves are flat and not warped.
Four blonde/golden mohair jointed teddy bears, the largest with lilac ribbon, central seam, black button eyes, stitched nose and mouth, suede pads and three similar smaller examples, one in light blue and white sailors jacket with gilt buttons, one in cream striped single-button pyjama top, trousers and white undervest and one stitched-on red, black and gold three-button Bellhop uniform with red pillbox hat, the head and tail turning simultaneously on connected joint (4). CONDITION REPORT: Areas of loss to mohair throughout, deterioration to pads and stitching, Bellhop bear with small pulls to pads, all featuring surface dirt and wear commensurate with age.
Four jointed mohair teddy bears comprising a light brown Merrythought 'Connoisseur Bear' with central seam, black glass eyes, stitched nose and mouth, green and white ribbon brown stitched pads and attached certificate of authenticity with an envelope signed by Oliver Holmes, length 33cm, also a limited edition Dean's Ragbook Co. orange mohair 'Birthstone Bear-September Sapphire' no.6/500, wearing gilt necklace set with a blue stone pendant and a blue ribbon scarf with certificate of authenticity, a blonde Nisbet '85-5070 Yes-No Bear' with attached certificate of authenticity, also a further unmarked blonde mohair example (4). CONDITION REPORT: Generally good with minor areas of loss to mohair on Deans and unsigned examples, deterioration to pads of unsigned example and minor surface dirt throughout commensurate with age.
Five teddy bears comprising a limited edition Merrythought mohair 'Ivory Bear IV201' with glass orange and black eyes, stitched nose and mouth and white velvet pads, with certificate of authenticity and signed by Oliver Holmes and one other to right foot, a blonde mohair example in light navy and blue sailor's uniform and scarf, a brown mohair musical jointed bear with clockwork mechanism (in working order) and two further unmarked jointed bears, the smaller with hand stitched jester's bell collar, the longest 49cm (5). CONDITION REPORT: Merrythought bear appears to be good condition with minor surface dirt and to mohair and pads, the bear in sailors uniform with dye discolouration and losses to mohair, the Jester collar example also losses to mohair and deterioration to pads.
TIFFANY STUDIOS, NEW YORK (1899-1918); a pair of patinated bronze and Favrile glass tall candlesticks with removable bobeche, slender stem and moulded base, stamped to the base, height 46.5cm. CONDITION REPORT: Both with wax residue throughout, light surface wear. Images of base marks taken but very hard to see. We have not mentioned any registration stamps, so there is nothing to photograph. There is n number stamp to the base.
JOSEPH LORENZL FOR GOLDSCHEIDER; a c.1930s Austrian porcelain figure of dancer in red lace skirt and top, on oval base marked to underneath, impressed No. 7058/25/4, height 30.5cm. CONDITION REPORT: Generally in good condition with no obvious traces of damage or restoration, areas of crazing to the glaze, particularly throughout the legs and dress to both sides, two small areas of shallow chips/losses to glaze to the back lower edge of the skirt, the item was inspected under the UV light.
CLARICE CLIFF; a Newport Pottery crocus decorated butter dish of rounded square section form, width 11cm, also a Clarice Cliff crocus decorated Wilkinson Pottery ovoid vase, height 8.5cm (2) CONDITION REPORT: Crazing to both. Light staining to rim of vase. 2 cm crack to corner of lid. Areas of staining and surface wear throughout.
PILKINGTON'S ROYAL LANCASTRIAN; a lustre decorated bowl by Gladys Rogers, chevron decorated outer border, red ground and interior decorated with five bunches of grapes, impressed mark and artist monogram to base, diameter 24.5cm (af). CONDITION REPORT: The bowl has been extensively restored, there is a strange film to the interior of the bowl and it does not ring true although under UV light the areas of restoration cannot be spotted, surface scratched to the body.
PILKINGTON'S ROYAL LANCASTRIAN; a lustre bowl by Richard Joyce, the interior decorated with a central stylised floral spray with four further flowers and leaves to the border and a plain pale green/blue exterior, faint impressed mark to base number 2614 and with artists monogram, diameter 24.5cm. CONDITION REPORT: Sadly quite heavy wear to the central panel, please see photograph, light surface fractures to the remaining section of the bowl, some surface fractures to the exterior, the main areas of concern are a very thin 6 x 4mm outer rim chip, a 3 slither outer rim chip and a pin head sized outer rim chip.
SHELLEY; a 'Blue Iris' pattern part dinner service comprising two square section tureens and covers, a set of three graduated shaped meat plates, six dinner plates, six fish plates and four side plate, each with printed marks, length of largest meat plate 46cm (21). CONDITION REPORT: Knife marks and some very light staining. Surface scratches. Two plates chipped, one plate cracked.
MOORCROFT; a mid-20th century flambé baluster vase with open neck, in 'Claremont' pattern, signed to base by Walter Moorcroft and with impressed Moorcroft Made in England mark, height 21.5cm. CONDITION REPORT: In good condition, general crazing and light surface marks but not damaged or restored.
A 19th century Derby cup and saucer decorated by Dagmar Owen entitled 'The River Se. Co. Cork, November 30th 1883, The Salmon, Ballyshannon' and decorated with various vignette panels with central crest inscribed 'Eryr Eryrod Eryri', printed Derby mark to the cup impressed mark to the saucer, width saucer is 14cm. CONDITION REPORT: The cup rings true but has a fine 3 cm hairline crack. Light surface wear to both pieces.
A Vienna hand painted cabinet plate 'Ruth' with gilt heightened swag border inscribed to the reverse and with blue beehive mark, diameter 24.25cm and a further Vienna cabinet plate, (badly af), diameter 24cm (2). CONDITION REPORT: Both items very dirty, surface wear and light rubbing to gilding, damaged plate severely damaged.
A large quantity of Royal Albert 'Old Country Roses' tea and dinner ware comprising two circular tureens and stands, oval platter, eight dinner plates, eight fish plates, six smaller plates, eight side plates, eight large bowls, eight small bowls, gravy boat on stand, cake plate, teapot, coffee pot, eight coffee cups and saucers, eight teacups and saucers, two sugar bowls and two jugs. CONDITION REPORT: Rubbing to the gilding throughout and the set has obviously used as would benefit a clean, some light staining and knife scratch marks in places to some of the plates.
A small group of Aynsley fruit decorated items comprising an urn shaped vase, a trinket box, a pin dish and a pair of cups and saucers, also a pair of Clayton Dale jars, a smaller Palissy example and ginger jar. CONDITION REPORT: Some light surface scratches, otherwise appears good with no further obvious faults, damage or restoration..
A Japanese Meiji period bronze figure of a seated gentleman holding a box in his left hand and a stick in his right, perched upon a tree stump, signed to base, height 19cm. CONDITION REPORT: Light surface wear commensurate with age, small dent to the front of his right foot,otherwise appears good with no further obvious faults, damage or restoration..
A group of glass to include an Isle of Wight glass pink and opalescent green decorated planter, diameter 13cm, a vaseline pressed glass oval dish, a Polish paperweight of abstract form and an Art Deco style lime green square section biscuit barrel with pressed figural decoration, height 20cm (8). CONDITION REPORT: Dark blue vase: light surface scratches but overall in good condition. Two pieces chipped, general surface wear.
A single stone light blue spinel ring, the round cut spinel claw set above a collet to pierced tapered shoulders and a plain shank of unmarked yellow precious metal, ring size U The stone has not been tested in a laboratory to ascertain whether the spinel is of natural or synthetic origin The spinel has faint loupe-visible inclusions, one a straight line implying a natural origin; the culet has a chip but this is not eye-visible, and the crown is crisp and clean. The setting has some scratches and evidence of repair or alteration work. Gross weight 2.69g
A stereo viewer, boxed, in excellent condition, the viewer a hold-to-light mahogany box type, with a nameplate for 'Stereoscope Brevete S.G.D.G. Vues Prises avec le Verascope Richard'. Together with a good collection of glass plates for stereo viewer and negatives for the plates. Three well filled wooden boxes of stereo viewer slides, mostly depicting a continental holiday circa 1920. Each box holds 50 slides. Subjects include: mountain passes, the Matterhorn, mountain hiking with guide, some charming family images with children. A further 19 small cardboard boxes of slides, mostly negatives but four boxes marked positives. The boxes with labels: Wellington S.C.P Lantern Plate. Subjects include AHB de Saussure statue in Chamonix, an elephant ride in a zoo, family group scenes, three slides have been coloured.
