Each vase painted with figurines throughout with a pavilion, with brocade pattern borders, gilt decorated with beads and flowers, 31 cm tall. Condition report: Both vases have some wear to the gilding particularly on the rim and raised areas and light staining to the crackle of the glaze.
A Northern Song style black glazed Cizhou ribbed vase. The vase potted with lobed bulbous body rising to a trumpet neck and a flaring flower-shaped mouth, the body applied with evenly spaced vertical ribs, covered with a lustrous black-brown glaze thinning to a light ochre at the raised bands and over the foot. The rim has been restored. Measures approx. 22cm tall.
