1975 Cheney BSA B50 MX Thumper Ex Ken Heanes Registration Number: KTC 566P Frame Number: JBRK595 Engine Number: B50MX AH03077 - In current family ownership since the 1970s - Ex-racer Ken Heanes The BSA B50MX was a single cylinder 499cc bike produced by BSA in Birmingham, with a light alloy engine, with versions for both road version and off-road competition use. The off-road competition version was basically a paired back version of the road going models, using the same frame, wheels and suspension. Some B50s were modified for off road use by specialist bike/engine builders such as Eric Cheney. Eric Cheney was an English motorcycle off-road racer, designer and independent constructor. Cheney was one of the best motorcycle frame designers of his era, concentrating mainly on off-road competition. After World War ll Eric Cheney joined motorcycle dealers Archers of Aldershot as a mechanic. Cheney began racing motocross and became one of Britain's best and most successful riders, along with his work companion Les Archer, who went on to become European Champion. Cheney had no formal training as a motorcycle designer yet was able to create original and high performance motorcycle chassis designs from a small lock up garage, with drawings of frame designs, often chalked on the garage wall. In an age of computer design and large teams with huge resources for research and development, Eric Cheney relied entirely on his long racing career experience. Some of Cheneys motorcycle designs are now famous in their own right, such as the competition BSA Gold Stars of Jerry Scott and Keith Hickman which used a BSA B50 specially tuned by Cheney. This 1975 Cheney BSA B50 MX Thumper was originally owned by top Hampshire Motorcycle racer and dealer Ken Heanes, lovingly known as the Fleet Flyer, one of Britain's most successful off road motorcycle racers. Our vendor's father purchased the machine directly from Ken Heanes in the 1970s and has been family owned since. First registered for the road in January 1976, when last used some years ago the bike ran well, but we understand it will need some checking over and servicing before being used once more. An interesting bike from long term family ownership.
1958 BSA Bantam Registration Number: 257 XWA Frame Number: FDS295 Engine Number: ED5B2387 - Produced for 1 year only, with period luggage Based on a German design, the DKW RT125, which the Allies of World War ll received as war reparations, BSA launched its first model, the D1, in 1948. The BSA Bantam was a mirror image of the RT 125, with measurements changing from metric to inches. The model Bantam, the D1, was first launched in 1948 outside of the UK and in 1949 within the UK, and produced until 1963. Built for 1958 only, this lovely D5 underwent a full restoration some years ago and has been garage kept since. Complete with period attachments, his rare model is in super order, and will be ready to hit the road after some light recommissioning.
2008 Vespa GTS 125 Registration Number: AU58 EHH Frame Number: ZAPM3130001011763 Engine Number: M315M17407 The GTS 125 seamlessly blends classic Vespa charm with modern performance. Stylish, agile, and refined, it offers an engaging ride while maintaining the timeless appeal that has made Vespa an icon for decades. Powered by Vespa’s 125cc four-stroke, single-cylinder engine, the GTS 125 delivers smooth and efficient performance, making it an excellent choice for both urban commuting and leisurely rides. Designed for stability and control, it features a well-engineered front disc brake, a larger 12-inch wheel setup, and a full-body steel frame paired with superior suspension for a comfortable and composed ride. The modernized headlight and LED indicators introduced in 2008 offer a contemporary touch, yet the GTS 125 retains the unmistakable spirit of the Vespas from the 1950s and 1960s. Good general mechanical and cosmetic condition, having been well-maintained throughout its life, it’s now not seen use for several years so would benefit from a light restoration.
1981 BMW R100T Registration Number: MWV111W Frame Number: 6075650 Engine Number: 6075650 Introduced in 1979, the BMW R100T was one of several models derived from the R100 series, designed to offer a blend of long-distance touring capability and everyday usability. Production lasted until 1980, with a total of 5,640 units built. The R100T shared its underpinnings with the standard R100 model, part of BMW’s air-cooled boxer twin lineage that spanned two decades from 1976 to 1996. At its heart was a 980cc four-stroke, twin-cylinder engine producing 70 hp at 7,250 rpm and 77 Nm of torque—figures that ensured smooth, reliable performance for both solo and two-up riding. The R series have ages beautifully with the classic round headlamp and analog instruments. This totally original example still features its one-piece dual seat with grab rail, and the rare factory side-mounted pannier, snowflake-style multi-spoke aluminum wheels and twin-silencer exhaust system. Offered for light restoration after several years off the road. A fine example of BMW’s boxer tradition, now highly sought-after for enthusiasts and collectors.
1974 Honda CB250 G5 Registration Number: PDF 39M Frame Number: CB250-6005239 - Original UK delivered example - For light restoration During the 1970s a natural step for 17 year olds who had been riding a moped, was a 250. All the major manufacturers had developed a 250cc machine, mostly fire breathing, rapid 2 strokes, which didn't appeal to everyone. Honda had a reputation for building high quality, reliable four stroke machines. The 60s brought us the CB72, in the early 1970s Honda launched the highly popular CB250 K4. By the mid 70s, style was the name of the game and so Honda developed the CB250 G5. With its upswept twin exhaust silencers and stylish paintwork, the bike was an instant hit. A rare sight now and highly sought after, this 1974 Honda CB250 G5 has covered just 26,407 miles and is presented in very original condition. Last used on the road in 2024, and recently running, the bike will require a new battery and minor attention before being used once more. A worthwhile light project at a very sensible estimate.
1978 Honda CB750 Four K7 Registration Number: KBV 275S Frame Number: CB750K2812656 Engine Number: CB7500E3012726 - Now offered with No Reserve - Ridden to the auction Described by many as the first superbike Japan produced, the Honda CB750 first graced our shores in 1969, posing a direct threat to the British motorcycle industry. Hundreds of thousands of this eponymous model were sold, with many original examples still on the road today. The CB 750 was powered by a 736cc SOHC air cooled, transverse, in-line four cylinder, developing 68bhp, and topping out at 125mph. The very epitome of a classic 70s motorcycle, the CB750 had an upright comfortable riding position, large fuel tank and four chrome silencers. In 1976 Honda introduced the F1, a completely different machine with a Double Overhead Cam Engine and a single silencer. The F1 was a flop, and so Honda was forced to reintroduce the K series with the popular K7 model. This very nice original K7 has recently enjoyed much mechanical attention, with a recent top end engine rebuild, overhauling of the carburettors, and the fitting of electronic ignition. Understood to be in good running condition when last used in 2024, the bike has been in storage for some months so may benefit very light recommissioning. This classic Honda is all in all a genuine example of a true classic. This machine is now offered with No Reserve, to the highest bid on the day.
1992 Honda VFR400 NC30 Registration Number: K559 EGM Frame Number: NC30-1109641 Engine Number: NC13E - Desirable sports bike, rare sight in Europe The 1992 Honda VFR400 NC30 is a true gem of the 1990s sportsbike era. Revered by enthusiasts for its razor-sharp handling, balance, and advanced engineering, the NC30 is one of Honda's most iconic middleweight motorcycles. Powered by a compact and rev-happy 399cc V4 engine. Originally built for racing and homologated for road use, the NC30 became a formidable presence in Japan's 400cc racing scene. The bike’s light weight, combined with near-perfect geometry, made it a joy to handle, cementing its status as one of the best 400cc sportbikes ever made. One of the standout features of the NC30 is its signature gear-driven camshafts, a Honda trademark that provided better throttle response and enhanced engine reliability, the distinctive 360° crankshaft configuration provided a harmonious balance between power and smoothness, with a ferocious top-end delivery that made it a sensation on the track and the street. Fully adjustable suspension – both front and rear – gave riders the ability to tailor the bike’s handling to their preferences, while the twin-piston front brakes offered superb stopping power. The VFR400 NC30 was never officially sold outside of Japan, making it a rare and sought-after bike in markets like the UK, the EU, and the US. Now revered by collectors and track-day enthusiasts who appreciated its race-bred heritage, a true ‘pocket rocket,’ offering thrills that rivaled larger, more powerful machines despite its relatively small displacement. Today, the VFR400 NC30 has endured the test of time and continues to be regarded as one of the finest 400cc sports bikes ever produced. As Classic Bike Guide put it: "The VFR400 NC30 is one of Honda’s finest creations, offering unmatched handling and a high-revving V4 engine that delivers exhilarating performance. A true motorcycle legend that punches well above its weight."
