The Mobile Canteen has had some paint detail added front and rear and the back window is broken, the bus appears Mint, the Mercedes has lost a chrome hubcap but appears otherwise Mint. The yellow and blue picture box appears to be in Excellent overall condition with a pen mark to one end flap and some light general wear and tear. Frederick Landseer Griggs (1876-1938) 'Epiphany', 1918 (Comstock, 23) etching, inscribed 'To M.C. Gere from F.L. Griggs' in pencil, from an edition of 93 sheet 23.3 x 18cm, unframed The plate was not published, but was presented to Griggs' friends after the end of the First World War. The inscription is the first and second antiphons from the First Vespers of Christmas in the Roman breviary and reads: 'The King of Peace, whom the whole world desireth to see, hath shown his greatness; The King of Peace hath shown his Greatness above all the kings of the whole world.'. (Comstock)Condition report: The sheet is attached with two pieces of tape to the mount, some light soiling and a few areas of light foxing emerging, an old horizontal crease along top margin but this is well outside of the plate mark.
