Very rare, 'Last Edition' Beetle, remarkably well preserved and just emerged from 29 years of dry storage.UK-supplied, right-hand drive Last Edition Beetle built in 1977 and first registered 1980One of 300 Last Editions, the final Beetles to roll off the production line in Germany in 1978Showing just 432 miles (atoc), correctly dry-stored and today presented in remarkably well-preserved condition. Certificate from VW shows numbers matchingGleaming Jubilee Silver metallic paintwork over untouched Marine Blue velour trimProbably an unrepeatable opportunity to own a VW motoring icon presented in 'showroom' conditionThe Volkswagen Beetle enjoyed staggering success for many years, and in 1972 became the best-selling car ever, with total production worldwide exceeding 15 million vehicles. However, by that time, the Beetle was starting to seem dated compared with much of the modern competition, and sales were flagging. In an attempt to maintain interest in the cars, VW produced numerous special edition models during the final years of European production. These included the Jeans Beetle, City Beetle, Sun Bug and Marathon Beetle, to give just a few examples.Despite all the special editions, with the Beetle now looking seriously dated, sales continued to decline and the last European-built car left the production line in Emden, Germany on the 19th of January, 1978, immediately taking early retirement in the Wolfsburg Auto Museum. In 1978, to mark the occasion, the final run of 300 German-manufactured, right-hand drive Beetles were all finished in the very special 'Jubilee Silver', a colour unique to this batch and never used on any other model year. The vehicles were each equipped with a 1200cc engine (the most famous of all), blue-corded velour trim, a flat screen (as a nod to the past), heated rear window, fresh air blower and a handbrake dash light. Finally, a dash-mounted plaque states the vehicle's number in the sequence. Unfortunately, these seem to have been supplied to VW dealers separately from the cars, and quite a number of LEBs never received the plaques intended for them.Offered here is a UK-supplied, right-hand drive Last Edition Beetle manufactured in 1977 and first registered on 1 August 1980. Emerging from 29 years in warm dry storage, today this example's condition can only be described as remarkable. The Jubilee Silver paintwork presents beautifully and the Marine blue velour trim also appears to be in showroom condition.Accompanying this rare Beetle is a history file containing the original VW instruction manual and service book, VW Certificate, original keys on a fob from the supplying dealer, copy of dealer application for a Licence for a new motor vehicle & Declaration for Registration supplied with the vehicle - 17/07/80, and an independent inspection report carried out prior to this sale. This is a great opportunity to add to a collection of landmark cars or just take ownership of perhaps one of the most well preserved of the German manufactured VW Beetles. You can now book a one to one appointment (up to one hour) to view this lot at our central location between 16th and 30th July. 1958 Earls Court Motor Show Launch car and bought new by Jazz legend Chris Barber1958 Earls Court Motor Show launch car. Registered initially as CB 23Bought new by Jazz Legend Chris Barber. Extensively raced in top level International Sports Car racing 1958 – 1963Class Winner: 1963 Tourist Trophy, GoodwoodRecently emerged from a top quality, very exacting restoration as an historic racing car for Channel 4's ‘For the Love of Cars’Stored for many years prior to its restoration commencing in early 2016Restoration carried out by renowned engineer and Wheeler Dealers presenter, Ant AnsteadLotus Elite 1009 represents a unique proposition for buyers wanting to race in top-level historic motor sport or add to a stable of historically interesting cars. Its history and provenance make this Elite one of the most famous in the world and mean it would be welcome at any prestigious historic race meeting or show, worldwide. Not only is it the first Elite produced as a production vehicle for sale rather than a pre-production prototype as the previous eight were, but it was originally purchased by one of Colin Chapman's favoured customers and friends, jazz legend Chris Barber, a man whose music was influential in the British Blues and Jazz scene of the 1950s and 1960s and whose band was behind the UK's first Rock'n'Roll record, 'Rock Island Line' by Lonnie Donegan. Barber entered and raced the car extensively for 5 seasons in top-level international sports car racing in the UK and Europe including the Nürburgring, Spa and Zandvoort.During this period it was driven regularly by Sir John Whitmore, the 'Racing Baronet', who famously broke the class lap record at Spa using CB23 while on his way to class victory in the Grand Prix GT Support Race of 1962. Other notable drivers who drove the car include Mike Beckwith and Bob Olthoff as well as Chris Barber himself. The Lotus Elite was debuted at the 1957 Earls Court Motor Show and caused an absolute sensation, the star of the show. The fact it was also made entirely from the new wonder material, glass fibre, simply added to the Elite's aura of other-worldliness. Chapman, however, was obsessed by efficiency and in a car, whether road or race, that meant light weight and low drag. The Elite had a CD figure of 0.29, remarkable now let alone in 1958, and utilised the maximum amount of energy then possible from every ounce of petrol it consumed; amazingly it was capable of returning around 40mpg even when touring at 80 plus mph! Chapman saw the fibreglass monocoque as a way of achieving this without the need for expensive tooling, which he simply could not afford. Though still a young man, he was just 29 when the Elite was launched, Chapman was not in awe of more established companies or designers; indeed he relished looking at the basic problem of making a car go as fast as possible over a given distance with completely fresh eyes. He was also very ambitious and saw that if he wanted to grow Lotus into a serious force in racing he had to follow Enzo Ferrari's model of making road cars which paid for the racing. His first attempt, the Six, was a successful but basic car and by 1956 he had ideas about producing a small upmarket GT car with serious performance using the Coventry Climax engine he was so familiar with from racing. He gathered together his small army of young volunteers, who often worked for beer and sandwiches just to be part of a world-beating racing car company, for this exciting new project. Frank Costin looked at the aerodynamics of Peter Kirwan-Taylor's overall shape, while friends from the Ford Motor Company design office, John Frayling, Peter Cambridge and Ron Hickman, did the detail work on the interior and other aspects. The aim, to produce a coupe that could be used on the road for touring and also race at Le Mans was very ambitious, but the young team more than achieved it. Chapman's own suspension design, softly sprung yet firmly damped, all independent by wishbones at the front and Chapman struts at the rear, gave the Elite fantastically predictable handling while the brakes, all disc but fitted inboard at the rear to reduce unsprung weight, proved more than able to cope with stopping this lightweight gem. The successful Lotus 12 racer also contributed its wheelbase and track. Lotus' groundbreaking fibreglass monocoque was initially developed away from their own workforce for secrecy by Peter Frayling and 21-year-old assistant Albert Adams. The first Elite bodyshell was 'cast' on Saturday, August 31st 1957 and that day Chapman took the decision to debut the car at the Earls Court Show in October 1957. Remarkably the team made that deadline but then had to develop the car into something which worked reliably and could be produced efficiently. This car is the first customer car, chassis #1009 and would be finished in October 1958, just in time to be displayed at the Motor Show alongside the last prototype, 1008. It was then fine tuned before being officially sold to Chris Barber, and entered in the Lotus' Cars ledger on 31/12/1958. Barber, though, had already raced the car as the owner on the 26th of December, Boxing Day, Brands Hatch Sports Car race, so it seems likely the ledger entry was made on the day the factory returned to work following the Christmas break. By the time Elite production ceased in September 1963, 1030 examples had been made and Lotus had developed from a company unheard of outside of UK club racing to one of the most famous racing teams in the world. They were about to be crowned F1 World Champions for the first time with Jim Clark, and were seen as established world players in road car manufacture with a mature market presence in the USA and elsewhere. The Elite played a big part in this remarkable feat of automotive industrial growth. It was Lotus' first 'grown-up', credible road car and laid down the foundations of the Lotus business that still exists today. Lotus Elite 1009 has undergone a very high quality nut and bolt restoration by renowned restorer and engineer, Ant Anstead, as a racing car, and is not currently road registered. The restoration was filmed for the 'For the Love of Cars' series which has been so successful worldwide, something which can only add to this car's remarkable provenance. It also has the latest current FIA HTP papers (Period E- 1947-1961 which are valid until 31-12-2026) and is thus eligible for all International events. Offered in pristine condition from our private vendor who has owned the car since Silverstone Auctions first sold it in 2016, but has never used it ~ this Lotus Elite Type 14 Mk1 presents a unique opportunity for collectors and racers alike. You can now book a one to one appointment (up to one hour) to view this lot at our central location between 16th and 30th July. A delightful re-creation of a late-thirties Austin pickup truckBased on a 1938 Austin Ascot Light 12 SaloonPowered by a 24bhp, 1535cc 4-cylinder side-valveSuperb interpretation of a 1940's workhorseExcellent attention to detail throughoutIdeal for business promotion or to be enjoyed on the show circuitThis car has formed part of a large collection with little or no use. An element of recommissioning is to be expected to return it to the road once againAustin introduced their new Light 12/4 in late 1932 to fill the gap between the 10hp range and the larger 12.8 and 16hp models. It was to prove highly successful, being economical, reliable, robust and well finished in true Austin tradition. Saloon and open tourer versions were available, but it was the comfortable and spacious Ascot saloon that was to prove the most popular offering style, pace and modern features to customers rapidly becoming more sophisticated. This beautifully converted right-hand drive Austin Ascot 12/4 saloon was, unfortunately, fire damaged some years ago whilst being repainted towards the end of its restoration. Its owner then lost heart with the project and left the car to deteriorate for some time before it was discovered and rescued by the owner prior to our vendor who was determined to breath new life into the ailing saloon. He had the forethought to see a future in the project and so the rebuild commenced. As the back of the saloon had sustained the most damage, he came up with the brilliant idea of converting it into a 'flatbed' truck and three years of painstaking work resulted in his interpretation of a period commercial vehicle that once would have rattled around the cobbled streets in the 1940s. It has been delightfully finished in Maroon over Black with 'porthole' windows complemented by a smart red interior, all completed to a very high standard, however, the 'jewel in the crown' is the iron-strapped pickup bed, handcrafted in the correct manner and looking totally period correct, even down to the trunk and cargo net in the rear. Sitting on its correct artillery-style wheels, it's now ready to be pressed into action once again, be that on the show circuit or as a mobile advertising hoarding, whichever route is chosen, it will most certainly be turning heads once again. In recent years this car has formed part of a large collection and as such has received little or no use and an element of recommissioning is to be expected to return it to the road once again. One of just 100 examples of the S3 Flying Spur.Initially registered to the first of three owners on the 25/03/1966One of the final S-Series-derived Bentleys before the introduction of the T1Believed to be one of just 100 S3 Continental coachbuilt by H.J. MullinerShowing an odometer reading of 46,667 miles (atoc) and last MOT'd in 2009This car has formed part of a large collection with little or no use. An element of recommissioning is to be expected to return it to the road once againIntroduced in 1955, the Bentley S-Type and equivalent Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud saloons were thoroughly modern, spacious, comfortable, quiet and powerful. In production for 10 years, they were the final series-production coach-built cars from Crewe.Building on the legendary status of the ground-breaking R-Type Continental, Bentley soon announced a two-door S-Type to be available as a stunning drophead coupé by Park Ward and a desirable and sporting 'fastback' by H.J. Mulliner. These cars were fast - thanks to aluminium coachwork, a raised compression ratio and longer final drive - and once again found favour with the super-rich of the day. It took two years before the company relented to customer demand for the pace and exclusivity of the Continental combined with the practicality of four doors. H.J. Mulliner of NW London created a superb Continental saloon, subsequently titled 'Flying Spur' after the Clan Johnstone crest of Mulliner's then managing director, Harry Talbot Johnstone. The first car was on the road in May 1957 and deliveries commenced with a pair exported to the USA just two months later. Facing competition from across the Atlantic, in August 1959 Rolls-Royce announced a new, 6,230cc V8. The light alloy unit weighed the same as the outgoing 'six but produced significantly more power, perhaps as much as 25%. The new S2 Continentals - only ever fitted with automatic gearboxes - were faster and even more refined than ever. At the same time, making use of the more compact profile of the new engine, the distinctive radiator shell was lowered and slightly raked forward. The Bentley S3, introduced in October 1962, took this process of modernisation one step further. More than simply a twin-headlamp face-lift, S3s featured a raft of other changes including another 1.5in taken off the height of the radiator, which was raked further to aid visibility. All S3 engines had bigger, 2in SU carburettors and this modification, together with raised compression, gave the cars an edge in performance, particularly above 60mph. For the first time as standard, the front seats were individual, rather than a single bench. One of the last cars built, this S3 Flying Spur was initially registered on the 25 March 1966 to the first of just three UK owners and has been significantly restored in the intervening years. Showing an odometer reading of 47,050 miles, at the time of cataloguing, and last MOT'd in 2009 this car was purchased in 2014 and has formed a part of a large collection which included some historically significant Bentley R-Type Continentals and S-series drophead-coupes. Although stored correctly and presenting well, the car hasn't had much in the way of maintenance or servicing and as such is sold as a "non-runner". We would caution any buyer to treat the car to a thorough going over upon delivery. In recent years this car has formed part of a large collection and as such has received little or no use and an element of recommissioning is to be expected to return it to the road once again. A good opportunity to recommission this beautiful V12 Ferrari GT, just 14,318 miles.UK-supplied, right-hand drive 456 Modificata Automatic. Just 14,318 miles (atoc) from newThe definitive Grand Tourer - fast yet practical, front-engined, 436bhp, 5.5-litre V12Well presented in Azzuro California with light tan leather and dark blue carpetsMost recent MOT dated 2013 but appears to have been stored correctly sinceThis car has formed part of a large collection with little or no use. Will require a degree of mechanical recommissioning, offered as a non-runnerPowered by what was essentially a detuned version of the engine powering the 550 and 575, the new 5.5-litre V12 unleashed no less than 436 bhp and, except for the F40, the 456 was the most powerful road car developed by Ferrari up to that point. Pininfarina worked its magic on the 456 to create a subtly beautiful curvaceous body contrasting with the hard edges of its predecessor. Aerodynamically efficient, the 456 remained stable up to its maximum speed of around 190 mph. Acclaimed on its debut, the 456's styling has not dated and is a tribute to Pininfarina's vision in creating one of most beautiful vehicle designs of modern times. The 'Modificata' 456 M appeared in 1998, starting with chassis number 109589 and it incorporated a number of changes, including improvements to the aerodynamics and cooling. The interior, still featuring Connolly Leather, was also freshened up with new seats and other detailing. The updated 456M, which was the last Ferrari model to use pop-up headlamps, was replaced in 2004 by the 612 Scaglietti.Offered here is a UK supplied, right-hand drive 2001 Ferrari 456M GTA with just 14,319 miles displayed on the speedometer at the time of cataloguing. Presented in a beautiful colour combination of Azzuro California with light tan leather and dark blue carpets. This particular example formed part of a significant private collection and appears to have been stored correctly over the years however may not have been used for some time. Consequently, the Ferrari is offered 'as is' and should be considered a non-runner. The last MOT expired on 7th March 2013 and before any attempt is made to start this car we would suggest a thorough inspection, the Cam-belts are replaced and all fluids changed as a minimum.Guided accordingly, this is an exciting opportunity to recommission this wonderful GT which, with all the work completed will provide its new owner with many years of enjoyment. In recent years this motorcar has formed part of a large collection and as such has received little or no use, an element of recommissioning is to be expected to return it to the road once again. Elegant 1950s open-top, two-seat Tourer. One of only 31. Thought to be the 8th from last TB Tourer to be manufactured2993cc, OHV, seven-bearing, straight-six. Manual gearbox Finished in Porcelain White with a white-piped red hide interiorOriginal dashboard in red with a cream Bakelite wheel and cream instrument facesThe cutaway doors are rear-hinged and the windscreen can be folded flat Only three registered keepers with the DVLAThis car has formed part of a large collection with little or no use. An element of recommissioning is to be expected to return it to the road once againThe TA21 was Alvis' last 'clean sheet' car design to reach production. The newcomer sought to move the marque back into a more expensive area of the market than its predecessor, the immediate post-war TA14, but remained faithful to many of the company's tried and tested engineering practices. Consequently, it retained independent front suspension on a massive cross member mounted to a rigid box-section chassis frame with leaf-sprung rear suspension, though there were telescopic dampers all round and hydraulic brakes, twin-leading shoe at the front, made a welcome appearance. To keep the 2993cc OHV seven-bearing, straight-six engine silent, light springs held the pushrods in permanent contact with the rockers. In the same way that Alvis had offered an open two-seater version of the TA14, it commissioned AP Metalcraft of Coventry to perform the same conversion on the TA21 chassis, creating the TB21, though it dropped the controversial grille used on the TB14 in favour of the traditional Alvis frontage. In keeping with its sporting pretensions, the cutaway doors were rear-hinged and the windscreen could be folded flat. As the car was lighter than the TA21 the final drive ratio was raised from 4.09:1 to 3.77:1, helping to increase the top speed to 95mph and at the same time improving economy. But its high price of £1,598 kept the car exclusive and only 31 were built between 1951 and 1953.This particular manual gearbox TB21 Tourer left the factory towards the end of production and is thought to be the eighth from last to be manufactured. Finished in, we believe, Porcelain White with a red hide interior and with only three former keepers registered with the DVLA, this particular TB provides interested parties with an opportunity to acquire an elegant 50s Sports Tourer, rarely available on the open market. In recent years the Alvis has formed part of a large collection and as such has received little or no use and an element of recommissioning is to be expected to return it to the road once again. A simply stunning example of the R129 with only 16,000 miles from newFinished in special order Blue Violet Mica with an unmarked Mushroom leather interiorFull factory-fitted AMG body kit and super-rare OZ AMG alloy wheelsPanoramic roof, memory seats and a wood/leather steering wheelSupplied with its original dealer book packPlease note number plate J86102 is not included in the saleThe R129-Series of Mercedes-Benz SL roadsters were produced from 1989 through 2002 and replaced the R107 in 1989 and were, in turn, replaced by the R230 SL-Class in 2002 for the 2003 model year. They were two-door, two-seat convertibles with an automated (electro-hydraulic), collapsible textile roof, with a shell-like, colour matched, tonneau cover. All 129s came standard with an aluminium detachable hardtop that was fitted by folding the canvas roof down and manually attaching the hardtop. Designed in 1984, the R129 was based on the shortened floor pan of the Mercedes-Benz W124 and featured many innovative details for the time, including electronically controlled damping (Adaptive Damping System ADS) and a hidden, automatically-extending, roll-over bar for safety. The number of standard features was high, with electric operation for the windows, mirrors, seats and hydraulic convertible top, all of which paved the way towards the more innovative roof design we see today. With its 5-speed automatic gearbox coupled to a 231 bhp, 3.2-litre engine, the SL320 offered a top speed of 150 mph. This superb example is finished in special order Blue Violet Mica over Mushroom leather, was ordered with a particularly high-spec and was supplied new to Jacksons-Mercedes-Benz in Jersey in 1998. Being resident in Jersey and spending time in a private collection explains why the car has only covered a genuine 16,086 miles. The SL has been kept in dry storage for the last few years only coming out on dry sunny days. It's rare to find an example with the AMG Styling pack and the AMG OZ Aero wheels were a very expensive option at the time. Prior to been put into storage, the vehicle had a full service with an M-B specialist in Jersey and further rectification work in the UK was carried out by Mercedes specialist 'IN Autos' in East Grinstead, where around £5,000 was spent to bring the vehicle back to a very high standard. It was most recently serviced in October 2017 after which it was placed in storage. It's accompanied by its Owner's Manual and the stamped service book and a NOVA Certificate showing that all UK Taxes have been paid.Detailed Factory Specification:241 FRONT SEAT LH ELECTRIC ADJUSTABLE WITH MEMORY242 FRONT SEAT RH ELECTRIC ADJUSTABLE WITH MEMORY284 SELECTOR LEVER, WOOD289 WOOD/LEATHER STEERING-WHEEL415 GLASS ROOF (R129)441 ADJUSTABLE STEERING COLUMN461 INSTRUMENT WITH MILES IND. A well maintained Corniche II with some 34,000 miles.Initially registered on the 28/09/1988 to the first of five owners, current since 2015Finished in Tudor Red piped Magnolia. The hood shows no faults and operates as it shouldJust 33,889 miles from new (atoc) supported by its historic and recent invoices and the old MOTsPresented to auction with refreshed woodwork and a light cosmetic refresh may well benefit the car Supplied with service book, invoices, V5c, MOT until September 2020 and recent bills for brake worksDriving a Rolls-Royce is always an event but a Tudor Red Corniche Convertible guarantees a stylish arrivalThe two-door convertible version of the Silver Shadow has been without a doubt the most successful convertible ever produced by Rolls-Royce. First introduced in 1966 as the "Silver Shadow Mulliner Park Ward two-door, drophead coupé", it eventually became apparent by popular demand that this version deserved to have its own model name so, after a few cosmetic changes in 1971, the Corniche was born. When Rolls-Royce launched the two-door cars in 1966, the international jet set began to clamour for attention at the dealerships. With waiting lists measured in years, these hugely desirable vehicles began to change hands at significant premiums over list price and one can imagine the hushed negotiations over the green baize of the gaming tables at Crockfords, the Palm Beach and Aspinalls. Rolls-Royce envisioned a time when owners would like to drive their own cars and the Corniche continued to be developed with this in mind and even had a rev counter fitted as standard. Both the fixed-head coupé and drophead by Mulliner Park Ward wafted to 60mph in 9.8 seconds, powered by the whisper-quiet 6.75-litre V8 engine and it is widely regarded that the success of the Corniche saved Rolls-Royce for future generations. A mild restyling was on the cards for the Spring of 1977 and the differences included rack-and-pinion steering, alloy and rubber bumpers, aluminium radiator, oil cooler and a bi-level air conditioning system. Later changes included modifications to the independent rear suspension in March 1979. In March 1981, after the Silver Spirit had gone on sale, the Coupé version of the Corniche and its Bentley sister were quietly discontinued but such was the popularity of the Corniche convertible that production went on until 1995.This lovely example was ordered new by a Mr O'Sullivan of Cranham Hall, Upminster via Jack Barclay Ltd., Mayfair on 5th February 1988 at a total cost of £96,917, it was registered in the September of that year. It was ordered in Tudor Red with a Magnolia leather interior piped red, Cherry Red carpeting, black mohair hood with magnolia cloth headlining and an opening rear seat armrest amongst other options. Passing through three other named owners the car was subsequently bought by our vendor in June 2015. As a renowned restorer of antique clocks, it was the craftsmanship and engineering of the Rolls that initially drew him to the car and he has enjoyed "cutting a dash" whilst motoring through the neighbouring Oxfordshire villages. The mileage of some 33,889, at the time of cataloguing, is corroborated by the service book, MOTs, and historical and recent invoices and the Corniche was driven to our viewing facility by our vendor, hood down, for a final 'hurrah'. To this consignor's eye, the paintwork may need a light refresh at some point and the leather interior a deep clean. The fitment of a key fob alarm system is very useful as is the factory fitted battery cut-off switch in the boot. The copy order form and build sheets make interesting reading and a valuation letter from Hanwells of London dated July 2018 suggest a figure of £65,000.00. The car is presented to auction with the aforementioned MOT valid until September 2020, the full book pack, Rolls-Royce sales literature, reams of invoices, Swansea V5c and ready for late summer motoring. You can now book a one to one appointment (up to one hour) to view this lot at our central location between 16th and 30th July. Aston Martin's flagship from 2010 with a warranted 3,600 milesThe DB9-derived DBS replaced the early-noughties Vanquish as Aston's top dog in 2007The 5.9-litre, V12 generated 510bhp/420lb.ft and offered 0-60 in 4.2 seconds and 191mphThis is a rare Carbon Edition (2010 and one car per dealer) finished in Obsidian BlackFitted with the automatic, six-speed, Touchtronic 2 transmissionBespoke Carbon Edition 10-spoke gloss black, diamond-turned alloy wheelsWith our vendor for six years and has covered only 3,600 milesComprehensive service history with Aston Martin Works. Most recent at 3,500 milesThis has to be one of, if not, the lowest mileage examples available todayNB Please note that the registration number shown is not included in the saleReviving a famous model name from Aston Martin's past, the DBS was based on the DB9 and replaced the outgoing Vanquish S as the company's top-of-the-range supercar. Before the DBS entered production, the world got a mouth-watering preview when one appeared in 'Casino Royale' (2006), Daniel Craig's debut in the role of James Bond. The DBS also appeared in the opening sequence of 'Quantum of Solace', the follow-up film released in 2008.In terms of its styling, the DBS was clearly a development of the DB9 but with the additions of a carbon fibre front splitter and carbon fibre rear diffuser. The aluminium chassis is known as the 'VH Generation 2' platform, 'VH' referring to its vertical and horizontal adaptability. State-of-the-art manufacturing techniques were employed in making the aluminium/composite body, which was robotically assembled using a combination of self-piercing rivets and adhesive. The new model was powered by a development of the 5.9-litre, 48-valve, V12 engine found in other Astons, producing 510bhp initially, an output sufficient to propel the aerodynamic coupé to a top speed of 305km/h (190mph) in manual transmission form, with 60mph arriving from a standing start in a remarkable 4.3 seconds. The aluminium engine was mounted as far back as possible in the chassis, whilst the transmission/final drive was combined in a rear transaxle, resulting in 85% of the car's mass being sited between the axles and a perfect 50/50 front/rear weight distribution, with commensurate benefits to handling, road-holding, and controllability. Transmission options were a six-speed manual or six-speed 'Touchtronic 2' paddle-shift semi-automatic.Adding £5,770 to the new cost The 'Carbon Edition' included a carbon fibre finish to the wing mirrors, front spoiler, diffuser and rear light clusters, and carbon brake discs behind the 20-inch, 10-spoke alloys. The carbon fibre theme continued inside, with the centre console covered in carbon weave, carbon scuff plates on the door sills and a quilted leather roof lining.Finished in Obsidian Black with a matching interior and ordered from new with the 'Touchtronic 2' six-speed transmission and 2+2 seating, our vendor has patently cherished this Carbon Edition DBS during his six years of ownership. The term 'used sparingly' does not really do justice to the distance covered from new that as that amounts to just 3,608 miles! It has a comprehensive service history with Aston Martin Works with the most recent at 3,500 miles. Continually stored in its own bubble, this stunning example, as one might expect is immaculate throughout and comes complete with its own cover and battery saver. This has to be one of, if not the, lowest mileage example available today and presents an opportunity that may never be repeated.NB; The registration number illustrated (10 MDW) does not form part of the sale. You can now book a one to one appointment (up to one hour) to view this lot at our central location between 16th and 30th July. The 'SA-30 Collection' - 30 exceptional vehicles chosen to celebrate 30 years of the Silverstone Classic and all excitingly offered at No ReserveA right-hand drive, UK-spec, 150bhp (CP) example in stunning Dark Blue with chrome wiresOriginally delivered new to Singapore before being brought back to the UK in 1987 still with the original owner who enjoyed the TR for a total of 45 years up until 2016Fully recommissioned and treated to a fresh coat of Dark BlueWith its rare factory hardtop (still in its original Mimosa Yellow)The clutch, flywheel and propshaft were balanced, the brakes were all replaced and a new up-rated radiator and renewed fuel lines were fittedPleasingly most of the original interior has been refreshed and retained apart from new carpetsA really lovely example of Triumph's classic TR6 which benefits from the more powerful engine and overdriveSharp, clean and ruggedly handsome, the TR6 looked far more modern than TR roadsters of old and proved a huge hit with the sporting driver of the early 1970's. Restyled in 1969 by Karmann of Osnabruck, the TR6 gained a full-width nose and a squared-off tail, however, under its new 'party frock' the chassis remained basically the same as its independently-rear-suspended TR5 predecessor. Handling was improved courtesy of wider wheels and a front anti-roll bar and the '6' was a little more refined than its predecessors featuring pile carpets, plush-looking bucket seats, a traditional wooden dashboard, and a full complement of instrumentation. The 150bhp 2.5-litre Lucas fuel-injected straight-six power unit was initially unchanged, but was detuned to 125bhp for the US market and subsequently for the UK market from 1973 onwards to meet stricter emissions regulations. Even in the later detuned spec, it could still hit 60mph in just 9.5 seconds with a top speed of 116mph.Originally delivered new to Singapore, this TR6 was built to 'CP' 150bhp UK-spec and was fitted from new with Overdrive and a 'factory' hardtop. Used sparingly at weekends and for special occasions, the TR6 was clearly the owner's pride and joy, and in December 1987, it moved with him back to the UK. As in Singapore, the Triumph was used occasionally at the weekends, always in the dry, and remained cossetted in a heated garage. Naturally, as the owner became older he was able to use the car less and less and when he sadly passed away in 2016, he had owned it for a remarkable 45 years. The car was acquired from his widow and, although in outstanding structural condition, it was obvious that it was in need of a little TLC. The decision was taken to recommission the TR and, once fully stripped, it was clear that the car was still in possession of all its original panels and never appeared to have been welded. With only minor areas of light surface rust, it was the perfect basis for a re-paint in a deep Dark Blue.Whilst it was out, the engine was fully serviced and the flywheel and clutch replaced. These were balanced along with the prop-shaft, which was itself fitted with new UJs. The brakes were all replaced as were the fuel lines and an up-rated radiator fitted. The engine was refitted into the refreshed engine bay and the fuel pump, metering unit and injectors set up for smooth running.Pleasingly, much of the interior was preserved, with only renewal of the carpets being necessary due to sun damage. The hood is original and in good condition as is the tonneau cover and hood bag and, quite importantly, the TR also retains its original factory hardtop (still in its original Mimosa Yellow). This is a really lovely example of Triumph's classic TR6 which benefits from the more powerful CP engine and overdrive and is undoubtedly one of the best on the market. With it's gleaming fresh paint, chrome wire wheels and smart interior, we suspect its long term owner will be looking down with a real sense of pride. You can now book a one to one appointment (up to one hour) to view this lot at our central location between 16th and 30th July. The 'SA-30 Collection' - 30 exceptional vehicles chosen to celebrate 30 years of the Silverstone Classic and all excitingly offered at No ReserveDating from 1962, this Mk II was built in left-hand drive and destined for AmericaThe subject of a major restoration in the US and remains in very good conditionFinished in a lovely shade of Iris Blue with dark blue dashboard and seatingWe believe that it's fitted with 'flat-top' pistons and a 1098cc cylinder headWith our vendor since 2017 and the cars current mileage is 85,867Active Owner's Club with lots of events and opportunities to have funIntroduced in May 1961, the MkII version of Austin Healey's Sprite sported a more conventional visage courtesy of its full-width grille and wing-mounted headlights. Other niceties included a rear bumper and opening boot lid. More civilised but slightly heavier than its 'Frogeye' predecessor, the MkII boasted more power and torque courtesy of improved carburation and a close-ratio gearbox. Reputedly capable of 85mph, the lightweight two-seater was a fun little sports car at an affordable price. We understand that this particular 1962, left-hand drive Austin Healey Sprite was the subject of a major restoration in the USA before returning home to the UK and that the 948cc BMC 'A' series unit has been fitted with 'flat-top' pistons and a 1098 cc cylinder head which should provide a useful increase in power. From some older (2014) sales information, we understand that a new clutch and pressure plate had been fitted just prior to then at 85,000 miles. The sprite has been with our vendor since 2017 and the cars current mileage is 85,867.The Iris Blue paintwork appears to have been expertly applied and it's very likely that this car still had its original panels prior to restoration such is the quality of the finish and likewise the brightwork also looks excellent. The dashboard retains its original covering and looks great for it and the period bucket seats look sound and hardly worn. The car was sold through Silverstone Auctions in 2014 and the report from then states; "The usefully modified twin-carb engine is superbly detailed and starts on the button with no knocks or rattles or leaks to cause any concern whatsoever. The gearbox is reported to be in excellent working condition as are the clutch and braking system. The suspension has clearly been set up with performance in mind and as such inspires confidence when driven enthusiastically".This is a delightful little Mark II that appears to have been well-restored in the US and with its lightly modified engine should be a lot of fun. It's left-hand drive which makes touring in France and on the Continent a little less stressful and with its Iris Blue paintwork as bright as a Cote d'Azur sky, it would make a charming companion. You can now book a one to one appointment (up to one hour) to view this lot at our central location between 16th and 30th July. The 'SA-30 Collection' - 30 exceptional vehicles chosen to celebrate 30 years of the Silverstone Classic and all excitingly offered at No ReserveA wonderfully cherished example with just 72,915 miles from newOnly four previous owners, one owner from 1972 until 2001Remarkably original. Wonderful, gently-patinated interiorAttractively finished in Admiralty Blue with a Silver Birch Roof and Rostyle wheelsConsidering the design is over 50 years old, these cars still turn headsIn 1965, Rover's Managing Director, William Martin-Hurst, secured the tooling and production rights to the 3528cc all-alloy OHV V8 '215' engine from Buick and, after a period of development, it was ready for use in Rover's model range. Although a marriage of expediency, the union between Rover's stately P5 and the ex-Buick V8 resulted in an unexpectedly fine motorcar. The new aluminium V8 was significantly lighter and considerably more powerful than its predecessor, delivering 160bhp and a massive leap in torque to 210 lbs/ft. at 2600rpm, vastly improving pace, comfort, balance, handling, economy and reliability.Launched in 1967, the Rover P5B (or P5 Buick if you prefer) was conceived to stave off increasingly refined competition from the likes of Jaguar and Mercedes-Benz. Available in Saloon and Coupe guises, both of which employed four doors, the big Rover was equipped with independent torsion-bar front suspension, a leaf-sprung 'live' rear axle and disc /drum brakes. Fitted with three-speed automatic transmission and power-assisted steering as standard, it proved a relaxing drive although capable of a comfortable 115mph. The exterior was mostly unchanged, apart from bold '3.5 Litre' badging, a pair of fog lights which were added below the headlights, creating a striking four-light array and the fitting of chrome Rostyle wheels with black painted inserts. The svelte Coupe had a slightly lower roof-line, slimmer chromed window surrounds, twin-armchair rear seats and additional dash instruments, and is the most collectable variant today.Well-appointed in the best Rover tradition, the P5B's 'Gentlemen's Club' interior made it a firm favourite with businessmen, politicians (Harold Wilson's car was reputed to have a pipe rack in the back) and even HM The Queen who apparently still owns her Arden Green Saloon. Production lasted until 1973 by which time 9,099 Coupés and 11,501 Saloons had been built.HPX 301H was first registered on 01/06/1970 and was finished in Admiralty Blue with a Silver Birch Roof and a Cream leather interior. It may have remained with the dealer for a period of time as its first registered owner was Trevor Tiffin Nash who acquired this 3.5-Litre Coupe on 12/04/1972 from Boorers Garage in Broadwater with the original Bill of Sale for £1,750 in the owner's file. Boorers were, in fact, the Rover agents and, somewhat poignantly, within the file is a small faded advert cut from the Sussex Argus and dated 07/04/1972 for this car (£1,895) clipped to a copy of the same paper's obituary of Mr Tiffin on 7/01/2008. He had, in fact, sold the car to Charles Regan on 9/02/2001 who also became a long-term owner, passing it on to Owen Lavington on 13/09/2017.The history file is huge with well over 100 invoices for maintenance, routine repairs etc. with only two larger invoices obvious, one for a gearbox rebuild in May 1981 and one for new sills and inner and outer arches dated January 2008. The file also contains lots of MOTs, SORN notifications from 2004 to 2014 and V5s etc. There is a plastic wallet containing the original Owner's Operating Manual, Owner's Instruction Manual and the stamped service record which starts at 1,579 miles on 29/06/70 and finishes on the last page at 40,700 miles on 8/05/83.It appears that HPX has never been restored and is all the better for it. The Admiralty Blue paintwork still shines, the brightwork is excellent and the Rostyle wheels look crisp. The Rover's cream interior certainly feels original with that cosy lived-in feel often present in a much-loved family car, and the car simply 'stands well'.The mileage of 72,915 appears to be corroborated by the car's MOT and Service history and we understand that it runs and drives superbly. The P5B is a go-anywhere, welcome-anywhere kind of 'Classic' and, unlike an old MG, you don't have to don seven layers of clothing to go to an event. In period, these big Coupes were head-turners and were perceived to belong to comfortably off owners who appreciated quality and had a certain sense of style, and basically, nothing has changed. This lovely Rover is only available as our inveterate collector vendor has found one with even lower mileage. You can now book a one to one appointment (up to one hour) to view this lot at our central location between 16th and 30th July. The 'SA-30 Collection' - 30 exceptional vehicles chosen to celebrate 30 years of the Silverstone Classic and all excitingly offered at No ReserveUK-supplied, right-hand drive, just 13,346 miles and a full service historyFinished in stunning Obsidian Black with a glorious cockpit in classic red leatherRoof-hinged gullwing doors pay homage to the iconic 300SL Front-mid mounted, aluminium-alloy, dry-sumped, normally aspirated 6.2-litre V8Structured and panelled entirely in aluminium; lightweight carbon-fibre driveshafts0-62mph in 3.8 seconds, 197 mph/563bhp at 6800rpm/479lb ft at 4750rpmSuperbly presented and correctly maintained, this desirable modern classic would be at home in any collection of important motor carsJaguar E-Type fans will undoubtedly disagree but perhaps the most recognisable sports car of the 1950s was the classic Mercedes 300SL Gullwing. With its dramatic doors, this was the ultimate supercar of its time and the very mention of the name evokes memories of Grace Kelly and grainy black and white racing footage. It was the embodiment of half a century of Mercedes motorsport pedigree and pleasingly, became the inspiration for a modern interpretation - the brand's equally desirable SLS AMG model, launched in 2010.It's not just the gullwing doors that awaken reminiscences of the legendary 300 SL as the characteristic wide radiator grille with the large Mercedes-Benz star and the wing-like fin are also reminiscent of the face of that historic sports car. The three-dimensional, sculptured front with the low, v-shaped, front skirt with lateral indentations gives this new gullwing a powerful, almost aggressive stance on the road, a sort of 'don't mess with me' look. The car's dominance is underscored by six large air intakes and the wide-set, Bi-xenon vertical headlamps. There's something utterly beguiling about a large capacity V8 and the one you'll find under the bonnet of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is an absolute peach. It's a 6.2-litre unit and was the first V8 from the AMG stable to be designed from the ground up, with its initial application being in the E63 super-saloon. The engine was further developed for the SLS with a dry-sump set-up and 120 unique parts and, in this guise, could muster a very healthy 563bhp. It's a simply superb engine and even when running on a light throttle it rumbles and crackles like distant thunder and lightning. It's mated to a seven-speed, dual-clutch transmission complete with a 'Race Start' launch-control system enabling a claimed 0-62mph time of 3.8secs and a top speed of 197mph.The SLS is one of those machines that had modern-classic written all over it from the moment it first saw the light of day and Mercedes themselves state on record that they will only build such a special car once every 50 years or so and there was never any replacement either planned or offered. Whilst it was the first car to be fully designed by AMG in-house, it was sadly the last to be fitted with a naturally aspirated V8, the most powerful normally aspirated engine they had ever built. However, it wasn't just a case of prodigious power and retro-inspired styling that made the SLS a modern icon as, when EVO magazine pitched it up against some pretty serious rivals, it won the motoring press over with its blend of all-round ability and everyday usability. Pitched head-to-head with Aston's V12 Vantage, Ferrari's 599HGTE and the evergreen Porsche 911 Turbo 'S', the AMG's depth of talent won the day. This impressive example is a UK-supplied, right-hand drive 2011 SLS 63 AMG and is finished in stunning Obsidian Black with a glorious cockpit in Classic Red leather It's fitted with the seven-speed, dual-clutch transmission and has been optioned with Electric Windows, 4GB Music Register, ABS with Brake Assist and AMG Performance Steering Wheel. It has been enjoyed by just two previous keepers, has covered 13,346 miles and was most recently fully serviced in February 2019 at Mercedes with a fresh MOT being added a few weeks ago.Immortalised at every Grand Prix meeting for many years, being the car selected to lead the pack in any safety car conditions, the SLS AMG was destined to be a modern classic from the moment it arrived and this superbly presented and maintained example would fit nicely into any collection of important motor cars. We welcome any inspection and, at 'No Reserve', anticipate serious interest. You can now book a one to one appointment (up to one hour) to view this lot at our central location between 16th and 30th July. With Nick at the helm, it won the Tour Espania in 2006, and later went on to win the Tour Britannia in 2008 and again in 2010.It appears to have become the property of Mike Smith from Bolton by Bowland in late 2010 and there are 3 invoices in his name from September and October of that year including one from Sean Lockyear Specialists cars for £8,868 which appears to be for pre-season race prep and lists a Fibreglass Bonnet and full a 'Lexan' glass replacement kit amongst much more. There is also an invoice from Holland for a 'Gateshift' kit and parts for £1,100.Between 11/03/2011 and 27/11/2012 there are around 35 detailed invoices in Mike Smith's name, mainly from DFR Motorsport and totalling £22,800. They are for race-prep, tyres, transport, test days, gearbox rebuilds, engine work etc in fact everything to do with running a competition car for a couple of seasons. There is simply far too much to list here and we suggest that interested parties book an appointment to view this fascinating file. Perhaps the two most important areas are a full engine rebuild by Mike Bainbridge Engineering in September 2012 and there is a six-page engine build spec sheet/list of parts in the file. At the same time, he also rebuilt the gearbox fitting new Guard Transmission components, a completely new gear cluster, new crown wheel and pinion and a new Guard limited-slip differential. The invoice from Guard Transmission totalled $9,120 and again invoices for these parts are included in the car's paperwork. The 911 has seen minimal usage since the mechanical refresh, continues to look incredibly purposeful in a shade of what looks like Speed Yellow with black Fuchs, and is presented in very good condition all round. It's currently set up more for circuit racing than road rallies, with the additional front light pod easily removed, however, this is a remarkably versatile little Porsche and could be used on a circuit, for road rallies and, as it's road registered, as a somewhat fast road car. A pair of race seats from the car are also included within the sale. The history file is packed and apart from the aforementioned invoices, includes an old set of FIA/HTP papers, German Titles, import documentation, the COA, old UK MOTs, V5cs etc.It would cost over £200,000 pounds to prepare a car to this spec today - and that excludes the challenge of trying to source a genuine '74 or '75 original 2.7 MFI Carrera for the basis - and, at this guide, we feel that this stunning road/race 911 represents tremendous value for money and we would welcome any inspection. You can now book a one to one appointment (up to one hour) to view this lot at our central location between 16th and 30th July. The 'SA-30 Collection' - 30 exceptional vehicles chosen to celebrate 30 years of the Silverstone Classic and all excitingly offered at No ReserveAmazing example with just 63,940 milesMileage at 46,329 on 03/11/1982Only two owners from new prior to joining the collectionSubstantial service records on fileRepainted to match the legendary 'Honeysuckle' in 1994Exceptionally rare with a totally original interiorImposing, handsome and dignified, the Bentley R-Type is one of those cars that just exudes class from every well-turned angle. And it doesn't just look good, as Autocar pointed out: "Years of painstaking research and development, with mechanical perfection as the goal, show their results unmistakably. Smoothness, quietness and sheer quality are in the superlative."Introduced at the 1952 Earls Court Motor Show, the R-Type was a subtle reworking of its MkVI predecessor and would have been called the MkVII had Jaguar not just appropriated the name for their flagship saloon. Effectively a more practical, longer booted version of the MkVI, it was powered by a silky-smooth 'Big Bore' 4,566cc straight-six engine with twin SU carbs and an aluminium cylinder head. The excellent 4 speed Automatic transmission was offered for the first time, resulting in a far more relaxing driving experience. The majority of cars were factory-built 'Standard Steel Saloons', as here, but coachbuilt versions were offered by H. J. Mulliner, Park Ward, Harold Radford and Freestone and Webb amongst others.Despite weighing nearly two tons, it was a spritely performer, achieving 106mph in near silence and reaching 50 from standstill in just 10 seconds. Servo assisted drum brakes provided the stopping power while the suspension was independent with coil springs at the front and leaf springs at the rear. Enjoyable to drive with a light sure-footed feel, it had enough power to give even contemporary sports cars a serious run for their money.Inside things got even better, the lucky occupants were cosseted in acres of hide and walnut that truly justified the cliche of "a Gentleman's Club on wheels". Just 2,320 examples were made before the R-Type was replaced by the much larger S1 in 1955. All the more surprising then, that they are such good value today, being more or less in the same price bracket as a relatively humdrum Mk2 Jaguar - a situation that we feel sure cannot continue much longer. This particular example is fitted with the desirable four-speed automatic gearbox and offers a unique opportunity. It was first registered on 12th August 1954 and the DVLA records state that it remained with this owner until his passing in 1982. Within the very substantial history file is a written offer from Frank Dale & Stepsons, dated 3rd November 1982, offering to purchase the car for £2,500 and this valuation was used for probate - the mileage then being 46,329. The car was inherited from that first listed owner to a Mr Giles Clarke. Mr Clarke then owned the Bentley until it directly joined our vendor's collection on 31st May 2013. Our vendor acquired the car via Sargeants of Goudhurst, a three-generation family business that had specialised in the Bentley marque since the late 1950s. Mr Clarke first took the R-Type to Sargeants on 16th September 1992, when the mileage had risen to 52,742. These very well respected specialists were then entrusted with looking after the car for the following 20 years and there are substantial records of it being serviced every year by them, up until the last, dated 23 October 2012. Like many, Mr Clarke was struck by the infamous Derby Bentley "Honeysuckle" and was so taken by the car's colour that he commissioned Sargeants to change the R-Type from the existing Black and Silver to the closest match they could obtain to Honeysuckle's 1930's golden hue. This work totalled nearly £9,000 - a substantial sum at the time and was completed in October 1994, at 53,347 miles and still looks sensational today. The original 'Honeysuckle' was invited to the Pebble Beach Concours last year, to celebrate the Bentley Centenary and caused such a sensation that it was purchased almost immediately whilst there and now resides in the United States. The amazingly well preserved dark brown leather interior remains untouched and it's rare to have survived these days. There is also a quantity of MOT Certificates on file, dating back to 1991, at 51,809 miles and certainly, both the interior and completely original bulkhead/engine bay are commensurate with such low mileage. The car is running extremely well and this June has just received a full 3,000-mile service, together with a new fuel pump, battery and distributor cap, leaving mainly the braking system that still needs to be 'run through' before returning to the roads, after the last six years kept on display. You can now book a one to one appointment (up to one hour) to view this lot at our central location between 16th and 30th July. The 'SA-30 Collection' - 30 exceptional vehicles chosen to celebrate 30 years of the Silverstone Classic and all excitingly offered at No ReserveOriginal European left-hand drive example sold by Auto Freidrich, Frankfurt in 1959Finished in Bianco Nube with a blue vinyl/light grey cloth interiorIncredible time warp survivor with just 36,686 miles (59,041km) from newExported to the USA in the 1960's. One owner from 1966 to 2012Returned to Germany in 2017, joining a world-class collectionOriginal owners manual (in German), various US titles, spare keysFollowing the ravages of war Alfa Romeo regrouped, equipping their rebuilt factories with up to the minute machinery to enable them once again to become a major manufacturer on the world stage. An all-new business plan was devised to move the company into mass production and the 1,290cc Giulietta emerged to fulfill those ambitions. In best Alfa Romeo tradition a twin overhead camshaft engine was to power the new model, the smallest engine size ever offered by the company but yet, in standard form, developing 80bhp. Although offered as a four-door saloon it was the sporting Bertone-styled Giulietta Sprint which captured the Italian sporting motorists' heart with its neat and functional styling looking good from absolutely every angle. The gently developed Veloce engine was offered as an option giving 90bhp and providing a top speed in excess of 100mph. Handling was enhanced by independent front suspension with coil springs and wishbones with coil spring, radius arms, and A-bracket at the rear. A 1,600cc engine was briefly offered prior to the cessation of the model in 1965 following an eleven-year production run. This delightful Giulietta Sprint 750B dates from 1959 and was built in left-hand drive for the German market. Later that year, it was sold by Auto Freidrich in Frankfurt to its first owner. The early ownership details are unknown but on 1st July 1966, it was acquired by Douglas Foon Gee of Bellevue, Washington State, who evidently loved the little Alfa as he was to own it until August 22nd, 2012, a total of 46 years. Subsequently, the car was owned by Paul Hageman of Santa Monica, Dirk Layer of Solvang, California and Nuwest Holdings of Missoula in Montana MT before returning to Germany in 2017 where it joined a private collection. The condition genuinely needs to be seen to fully appreciate just how incredibly well this beautiful Alfa has been cherished and retained such a remarkable quality throughout. It's supplied with its original Alfa Pouch containing the Owner's Manual (in German), a number of US Certificates of Title and the spare keys. You can now book a one to one appointment (up to one hour) to view this lot at our central location between 16th and 30th July. A stunning, UK right-hand drive, AFN Supplied SWB 2.0 S CoupeBelieved to be the first sold and registered right-hand drive 1968 M/Y 'S'Twin Weber 40IDS carbs and a higher compression ratio resulted in 160bhpRemaining with its first owner until 2000, some 33 years and only three recorded keepers sinceSympathetic restoration carried out to the highest level utilising all factory parts as requiredComplete engine rebuild by Francis Tuthill with minimal use sinceStill retains its original Elephant Hide seatsOriginal registration number - OUW 6F - has been reassignedThe 1967/68 'O-Series' 911S was the first of five decades of more powerful developments of the one that started it all, the 911 2.0-litre from 1964. #11800138 (OUW 6F) was manufactured on 17/8/1967 and is the 138th 911'S' off the production line. It's believed to be one of just two right-hand drive 911S models that were delivered to AFN as the first of the 1968 model year. One of the two became the AFN demonstrator with this particular example being sold to a Mr Berry of Market Harborough and is probably the first UK sold and registered, right-hand drive 1968 'S'. It remained in his ownership until 2000 when it was sold at auction and it has been enjoyed by just three recorded keepers since. During Mr Berry's ownership, the Porsche underwent a colour change to red from its original Ivory White and in the hands of its second owner it was treated to a complete engine rebuild by Francis Tuthill and the associated invoice remains in the history file. From this point, things moved forward and whilst with its third owner a sympathetic restoration commenced. The 'S' was stripped to a bare shell and rebuilt from the ground up utilising as many of the original parts as possible. New front wings, door skins, front panel and sills were replaced - all acquired through Porsche before the shell was once again refinished back to its original factory shade. The interior was retrimmed where required however the original Elephant Hide Seats were saved, it was also noted at this time that the dash top signature and VIN number were still in place as it left the factory in 1967 such was the originality! The engine, gearbox and running gear were all refurbished and detailed before being refitted. This particular 911S is thought to be as close as you will find, to being as it rolled off the production line some fifty-three years ago and comes complete with a full photographic record of the rejuvenation, Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, various invoices and an original, but snapped, key!An opportunity then to tick that box and acquire what must surely be one of the best early 2.0S 911s on the market today. This car has formed part of a significant collection for the past few years. In preparation for the sale, the engine will be flushed, filled with fresh oil and a new filter fitted, the fuel tank drained, flushed and filled with 20 litres of fuel, fitted with a new battery and issued with a fresh MOT Certificate. A safety check will also be carried out along with an inspection report included in the history file. You can now book a one to one appointment (up to one hour) to view this lot at our central location between 16th and 30th July. A superbly restored Twin Cam Roadster that would be welcome anywhere. One of only 2,111 MGA Twin Cams produced1588cc with a light-alloy head producing 108bhp at 6,700rpmDespatched in late December 1958 to Northern America in left-hand driveReturned home in 2014. Superbly restored and converted to right-hand driveVery smart in gleaming BMC Black with a classic red leather interiorGood history file with a full photographic account of the restorationCoaxing more power from the standard MGA engine was becoming increasingly difficult, so MG concentrated on developing a twin-overhead-camshaft cylinder head for the B-Series block. Conceived at Cowley by BMC engineer Gerald Palmer and introduced in 1958, the new 1,588cc engine did not disappoint. It featured a special light alloy cross-flow cylinder head with hemispherical combustion chambers and carried twin overhead camshafts with valve operation via Coventry Climax-style inverted bucket tappets, producing an impressive 108bhp at 6,700rpm. Considerably faster than the standard MGA, the Twin Cam could comfortably exceed 110mph, and to cope with the increased performance Dunlop disc brakes were fitted all round and Dunlop centre-lock wheels were a distinctive addition. The only other visual identifier was the script 'Twin Cam' near the vent aside the bonnet. A high price and an unjustified reputation for unreliability discouraged sales and the model was dropped after just two years. Production totalled 2,111 cars, a mere 360 of which were sold on the home market, and today the Twin-Cam is one of the most sought-after of post-war MG sports cars. Offered here is undoubtedly one the finest restored MGA Twin Cams available anywhere today. Finished in what can only be described as the most stunning combination of Black coachwork (BMC code BKI) with a red leather interior. It was despatched on 30/12/1958 to Northern America in left-hand drive finished in black with a green interior with the factory options of disc wheels and heater. It returned to the UK in 2014 when a full restoration was started by the new owner and converted to right-hand drive. The history file contains a full photographic account of the restoration accompanied by all the invoices and details of the specialised engine parts. The result is a spectacular Twin-Cam Roadster that fires up instantly with a pleasing raspy engine note and performs impeccably. We cannot eulogise enough about the quality of this stunning MGA Twin Cam that would be admired at any event in the world. These rare cars are now recognised as real classics that drive very well and deservedly have a niche in the MG history book. This lovely example is now ready to begin the next chapter of its life.
