A Silver Plate Mounted Table-Lamp, 20th Century, the stem modelled as a Corinthian column, on stepped base with four foliage cast feet, the top surmounted by an openwork foliage cast font and with light fitting, 70.5cm high Some areas rubbed at top of the Corinthian column brass underneath showing slightly through. Sits slightly uneven of the feet because of protruding electrical wire beneath. The wiring goes through the bottom of the oil well and continues through the central column and out of the bottom.

A large mantle star of the Order, 150 mm, fire-gilt sheet-brass, carefully chiseled and polished to the obverse; silver centre star, with faceted, metalstuds; white bordered, blue enameled, silver outer circlet in the form of a knotted ribbon, bearing the motto “HEAVENS LIGHT OUR GUIDE”; the reverse withsix fastening loops, the counter-medallion engraved with the maker’s mark “John Hunter Maddox S.t London” and white metal counter-plate.An extremely rare, early piece of accouterment of this beautiful order. An identical star belonged to Field Marshal Sir George Pollock (1786-1872), made Grand Commander in 1866. I RR!

Garrard & Co. Goldsmiths and Jewellers to the Crown 25 Haymarket London” and gold pin; in the original, black morocco fitted case of issue with maker’s mark of Garrard on the inner cushion and a further, full-length neck ribbon.A very rare set of the finest quality, very fine condition.The Order of the Star of India was created in 1861 by Queen Victoria, several years after the Indian Mutiny, when Britain’s power and government in India were again solid and well-established. It was destined to reward Indian Princes and Chiefs as well as British Officers and Civil Administrative who saw their service in India and were signaled for their conspicuous merits. Diplomatically, the first award was done to the heads of the Indian Maharajas and Princes and to the highest British authorities in India.After 1948, no further award was granted. Since 2009, with the death of the last Knight, the Maharaja of Alwar, the Order became dormant. With 229 diamonds for a total of 0.491 ct.I/II RR!

Silver crowned eagle, spreaded wings on the cross, holding a sword in the right claw and a scepter in the left. Round GOLD medallion on the eagle’s chest with King Carol’s 1st bust, on the reverse a blue medallion with the legend: ”1866-10 Mai-1906”, in the centre, King Carol I cipher. Above the cross a silver crown and the inscription: ”1866-10 Mai-1906”. Below, a GOLD scarf with blue enameled legend: ”Prin statornicie la izbanda”, original light blue sash, in very rare original case of issue. Breast Star, 1st Model, 85 mm, gilt Silver, hallmarked ”800”, maker’s mark ”Paul Telge, Berlin”, the shape of an 8 rays star, eagle in the center, in very rare original case of issue. The Order of Carol I, the highest Romanian Order, instituted on May 10th, 1906, part of the 40th jubilee celebration of King Carol of Hohenzollern, was awarded until 1932 in 4 classes: Collar, Grand Cross, Grand Officer and Commander. With the introduction of the Order of Loyal Service in 1932, the last two classes of the Order Carol I were closed, but the decorations could be worn until 1947. An extremely rare set in perfect condition! I RR!
