The Engagement (Aghd) of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi to Princess Fawzia Faud of Egypt, poster [printed and circulated in Iran, shortly after 24 Esfand 1317 (30 March 1939)] single sheet, depicting (from left to right) Queen Farida and King Farouk of Egypt, Princess Fawzia and Crown Prince Mohammed Reza, and Queen Mother Nazli, together in Cairo's Abdin Palace, slightly faded along old horisontal fold, extremities with some light surface soiling and water-staining, else good condition, 350 by 470 mm.; framed and glazed A rare ephemeral item, probably issued by the Iranian Ministry of Culture on behalf of the Royal Pahlavi household, informing the general public of the engagement between Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi and Princess Fawzia Faud of Egypt. The engagement took place in the Abdin Palace in Cairo on 30 March 1938, followed by a wedding (also in Cairo) on 23 April the same year. This was the Shah's first marriage, and the wedding was a political one intended to strengthen the ties between the Iranian and Egyptian courts, attracting controversy in the process as it united a Sunni royal Princess with a Shi'a royal Crown Prince. The couple had a daughter together, Princess Shahnaz Pahlavi, before they became estranged and eventually divorced in 1948.
Pro-Shah Propaganda Poster, issued by the Government offices urging the nation to follow their leader, chromolithographic poster [printed by the Edare' Kol Entesharat va Tabliqat (national office of publishing and advertisement), probably Tehran, c. 1965] single sheet, depicting the Shah walking alongside an ancient wall depicting the great Kings of Persia, with crowds of followers waving the national flag in his stead, some light creases along outer edges, overall excellent condition, 380 by 50 mm.; framed and glazed The text here roughly translates to “A Nation follows their king in the path of glory and greatness of their beloved Iran”. The staging of the scene seeks to draw parallels between the Shah and the great rulers of Ancient Persia to inspire patriotism and loyalty to the crown.
A Manuscript Firman signed by Massoud Mirza Zell'o Soltan, with his royal seal and signature, illuminated manuscript on paper, in Farsi [Iran, dated 1314 AH (1896)] single sheet, 6 lines black nasta'liq verging on shekasteh, seal of the shah and signature to the top right-hand margin within floral cartouche, heightened in gold, page border ruled in red, blue and gilt, some light fading along old crease-lines, 340 by 190 mm.; in modern card mount, framed and glazed A firman outlining the ownership of two plots of land entitled Ebrahimabad and Fariband, issued by the eldest son of Nassir ad-Din Shah Qajar, Massoud Mirza Zell'o Sultan, the governor of Isfahan. Although Zell'o Sultan was the eldest son of the Shah, he was not allowed to ascend to the throne because his mother did not carry Qajar lineage. Zell'o Sultan had to watch his younger brother Muzzafar ad-Din take his place while he was given the honorary role of governor of Isfahan instead. An esteemed position that he was able to hold for over 35 years.

The portrait depict Grand-Masters of the order. Includes a lists of the principal achievements of the order throughout its history, its officials and members. It was founded in 1561 with the aim of fighting the Ottoman Turks and Mediterranean pirates, especially those preying on shipping from the new port of Livorno. It's members fought with distinction at the siege of Malta in 1565 and the battle of Lepanto in 1571.

Greek printing.- Lucian, of Samosata. Deorum Dialogi numero. 70., edited by Ottmar Nachtgall, text in parallel Greek and Latin, title, a2v and a3r in red and black, woodcut decorative typographic border to left-hand margin of each page of Greek text, occasional early ink marginalia, inner margin of first and last ff. neatly restored, o4 repaired marginal tear, a few small stains, occasional spotting or light finger-marking, 'Heldenberg' ink stamp to title.18th century marbled boards, chipped, corners worn, [Adams L1617; VD16 L 2955], small 4to, Strasbourg, Johann Schott, 1515.⁂ The handsomely printed sole edition edited by the Strasbourg humanist Ottmar Nachtgall, also known as Luscinius. He had enthusiastically introduced the study of Greek in his hometown, preparing Greek grammars and texts for the use of teachers, students, and adults interested in learning the language. He was also a fine musician, publishing his Institutiones Musicae in the same year as this edition of Lucian, and later becoming organist of St. Thomas's in Strasbourg.

Disputationum adversus gentes libri octo, Roman type, initial spaces with guide-letters, &2 bound after a4 as often, title lightly soiled, light water-staining to lower corners, occasional spotting, 17th century speckled calf, gilt, spine in compartments, joints starting, but holding firm, corners worn, rubbed, [Adams A1994; EDIT 16 CNCE 3083], folio,, Rome, Francesco Priscianese, 1542.⁂ The Chatsworth copy of the first edition of this work composed in response to Diocletian's persecution of the Christians. It is one of very few books from this Roman press.

OMEGA; a yellow metal chronometer 'Seamaster' gentleman's wristwatch, the black textured dial set with baton numerals, diameter excluding winding crown 3.5cm, with original certificate from 1953 and guarantee of origin booklet with the date 27/9/54.Additional InformationSurface scratches to the glass and also the case, the back of the case is also gold coloured, there are two indistinct marks to the case, unfortunately our key will not release the back of the watch, there are a couple of tiny dents and light surface scratches, the hands are yellow metal coloured, the winding crown works and adjusts the hands which move freely but this is no guarantee of working order.
