A scarce Britains Royal Horse Artillery in Khaki Set No.39a. Comprising a 6 horse team with horses at the walk, very hard to find as children wanted these in action i.e. cantering or galloping. Horses connected by original wires, with gun and limber also in khaki. GC-for age, some light rusting to gun, one soldiers head loose.
A Vic light cavalry officer’s mameluke hilted sword, slender curved, fullered blade, 32½”, by “James 6 Regent St London” (style of the firm 1832-68), etched with crowned VR cypher in scrolled panels, plain slender steel crossguard with langets, stud finials, solid ivory grip (cracked) with 2 steel studs and pierced for sword knot, in its steel scabbard with 2 rings; probably Indian army. GC (minor wear and pitting to scabbard). Plate 5
A .177” Britannia “pop out” air pistol, c 1930, of blued steel, the butt marked “The Britannia” with figure of Britannia and “Made in England” Near VGC for age, retaining virtually all original finish (very small patch of pitting, scear fails to engage); in its original carton with coloured printed label. Clean Condition for age (light wear to lid and staining to label, 3 pellet holes in base).

Comprising – 11 Waterloo period privates at ease with rifles, fixed bayonets. 11 privates C.1865 with slung muskets. 5 Highland Light Infantry, 2 Officers and 3 privates. 5 91st Highlanders with shakos and colourful trews. 5 privates in bell shakos marching at the slope. ROD: Hardy The Phantom Palakona 9' 2 piece split cane fly rod, post numbered, no intermediate whips, agate lined butt ring, snake intermediates, whipped black, tipped red, bronze ferrule, line rate 6, keeper ring, 10" cork handle with light alloy reel rings, the whole rod in as new condition, straight, fine, in MOB.
REEL: Early all brass folding handle salmon winch. 4" diameter, 1.25" wide, straight brass crank arm with ivory handle on folding pin locating into front rim cut out, central blue steel screw, correct original pillars and external lock nuts, raised rear check housing, smooth positive ratchet clicker 5 steel pin foot, light filing to one end, dates c 1860, fine example.
