1951 Bentley MkVI SaloonRegistration no. GEA 333Chassis no. B379BMOdometer reading: 82,589MOT: Exempt *Older, previously restored example*Good history*Sold for recommissioning To view a video of this lot please click hereFootnotes:The Bentley MKVI was first production car to be produced by Bentley following the end of WWII. The backstory behind the MKVI goes back to 1944 with Rolls-Royce executive W. A. Robotham, who predicted a limited demand for rolling chassis cars with bespoke coach-built bodies following WWII. As a result, he negotiated a deal with the Pressed Steel Company who would produce a luxurious yet purpose-built body to seat four passengers. The result was the MKVI, which underpinnings were later used in the Rolls-Royce Wraith and Silver Dawn. This 1951 example is a four-door standard steel saloon that's presented in a beautiful dark blue with black wings, and beige leather interior, and is good order. The car was owned for much of its life by glamorous high society whirlwind Mrs Ama Rigamonte Tasca Di Cuto. The Bentley was used to travel antiques from Ennismore Gardens, London to their family seat in Sicily. Purchased by the enthusiast vendor in 2016 this is an older restored example with an original interior. It is running and driving well but has not been used since 2019. Following this period of inactivity, recommissioning is recommended prior to returning the car to active use.Vendor Score Total: 65/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1957 Jensen 541S CoupéRegistration no. 883 UYSChassis no. 5411793197Odometer reading: N/AMOT: Exempt *Rare Jensen 541S*Good history file*Previously restored*Sold for recommissioningTo view a video of this lot please click hereFootnotes:The Jensen 541S was a luxurious variation of the 541 and is a beautiful and rare GT. Powered by either a 4.0-litre Austin straight-six engine or 5,353cc Chrysler V8, the 541R also had lightweight construction, and thus performed exceptionally well with its four-speed manual gearbox. This combination is thought to have suited the car with its luscious interior and powerful engine, making longer journeys almost effortless. It is believed that only 127 541Ss were made, and as a result the car is now exceptionally rare. This 1957 example is an original UK car equipped with the 4.0-litre Austin engine, and is known to have spent much of its time in South Africa. There's a large history file with the car that shows its ownership by a single family between 1982 and 2016. It is an older, restored example and it's believed to have been restored whilst in South Africa. Its original registration number is also noted as UVR 541. Overall, the exterior and interior are in good order but could be brought up to a higher standard. The engine is also reported to be running and driving, but following a period of inactivity, recommissioning is recommended prior to returning the car to active use. The history file includes various Jensen books, old bills and expired MOTs.Vendor Score Total: 61/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. The backstory behind the MKVI goes back to 1944 with Rolls-Royce executive W. A. Robotham, who predicted a limited demand for rolling chassis cars with bespoke coach-built bodies following WWII. As a result, he negotiated a deal with the Pressed Steel Company who would produce a luxurious yet purpose-built body. The result was the MKVI, which underpinnings were later used in the Rolls-Royce Wraith and Silver Dawn. Converted into its 2-seat Special guise by John Anderson in 1990, this 1947 example is powered by the larger 4,866cc straight-six engine. The coachwork is a traditional ash frame and covered in brown fabric. Inside, the car features two brown leather bucket seats to match the exterior, as well as a bench seat. The aluminium dashboard is well stocked with correct gauges. Other features on the car include Lucas headlights, Continental back axle ratio, and a tubular exhaust manifold. It is running and driving well but has not been used since 2019. 1993 Mercedes-Benz E320 Cabriolet with HardtopRegistration no. L638 SESChassis no. WDB1240662C004827Odometer reading: 104,160MOT: Expired *E320 Cabriolet with good history*High specification*Includes factory hardtop roofTo view a video of this lot please click hereFootnotes:The Mercedes W124 is renowned for being one of most well-engineered Mercedes of all time, and is famous for its bank-vault build quality and reliability. The styling is also the embodiment of Mercedes from the 1980s and 1990s, and it harks back to an era of understated style with its smooth lines, squared grille and three-pointed star bonnet ornament. The convertible variant of the W124 (also known as the A124) was first launched in 1991, and earlier examples were initially labelled as 320CEs. However this was later changed to E320 in 1993. This earlier 1993 example was purchased by the vendor in April 2017 and is presented in a very good condition. It is a very well specified example and was ordered new with £6,500 worth of optional extras which includes a factory hardtop roof. The outside is finished in a black metallic paint which works well with the grey leather interior (both are in good order). The car has not been actively used since 2019, so it will be sold with a recommendation for recommissioning. There is good history with the car including servicing bills and old MOTs.Vendor Score Total: 26/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. Sadly Rover closed its doors for good in 2005, and the Streetwise was one of the last new cars that the company ever produced. Streetwises are now a rare sight on the road, and this 2004 example is in a good overall condition. There is no history bar the original owners handbook and wallet. The 1.4-litre engine is reported to be running and driving well, however it has been unused since 2017. The car has a high specification and features the factory sports suspension with shock absorbers as well as a Porsche sports exhaust. It also features a 6-speed manual gearbox for added driver engagement. Unfortunately there is little history with the car (bar the original drivers handbook), but the 3.4-litre flat-six engine is reported to be running and driving well. This included two new genuine Porsche front wings and sills being fitted, which helped to remove all rust from the vehicle. 4 brand new Uniroyal Rain Sport 5 tyres have been fitted along with a full wheel refurbishment. Inside, the car is in very good condition considering the mileage. Mechanically, the car is also very sound and has recently had a new cam and balance belt fitted in June 2021; also an oil and filter (Porsche part) change. The MKII in particular was no exception to this, and the RS2000 was known for popularising the RS (Rallye Sport) brand and further demonstrating how Ford could develop an impressive rally car for the road. Launched in January 1976, the RS2000 featured a 2.0-litre single-overhead cam Pinto engine and quickly became popular with keen drivers. Today, the styling of the RS2000 is still very distinctive with its famous quad headlamps and slanted 'droop snoot' front end. This 1979 car is a very good example with an unbroken registered keeper history from its original dealer (Blakes of Liverpool). A folder full of repair and upgrade bills are also included with the sale (there is also a list of modifications and Rolling Road report available on request). Externally, the bodywork is in a very good condition having undergone a full nut and bolt restoration in 2003 (photographic evidence taken at all stages) , whilst the interior retains its 'Custom' trim it has been upgraded to provide a safe environment for the more spirited driver. Due to its condition the car has participated in The RS Owners Club Concours for 4 years and is also pictured in the club magazine 'Rallye News'. The engine is tuned to a high degree and whilst it is still a 'Pinto' it has an Omex Engine Management ECU fitted along with a Jenvey Fuel Injection system and at a recent rolling road session it produced 190 BHP. This is a very good example of an extremely useable and enjoyable classic Ford. The vendor has offered to help and advise any new owner to enable them to enjoy this RS as much as he has over the past 20 years.Vendor Score Total: 96/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1990 Ford Sierra Sapphire RS Cosworth 4x4Registration no. H741 XYCChassis no. WFOFXXGBBFLU56291Odometer Reading: TBCMoT Expiry: 10/12/2021*No-expense-spared extensive restoration*Engine seriously upgraded*First-class presentationAn urban legend if ever there was one, Ford's performance range surpassed itself with the Sierra Sapphire 4x4 – but there was always room for even more power, as this example shows. This 1990 example has an urban streetfighter air but it is important to look beyond the external appearance to the close attention to detail, whether in the bodywork's restoration or the mechanical upgrading. Our vendor says the bodyshell has been extensively restored, being stripped back to bare metal before any corroded material was cut out and replaced, And to save the next owner having to repeat the exercise the underside was coated with anti-chip and the latest rust-proofing was sued throughout. The interior features the original grey leather Recaro seats with custom-made red seat belts front and rear, and dashboard inlays feature piano-black gloss and carbon fibre. The engine's upgrading features an extensive list of new components that include a WRC Inconel exhaust manifold with IHI RX6 hybrid turbocharger, air-injection anti-lag system, Group A alloy twin fan radiator and a Thermatic electric water pump – the fluids are kept moving through Samco silicone hoses. Power delivery is through a Quaife Group N close-ration gearbox and Helix five-paddle clutch. The power hike is kept in check with adjustable Konis and Eibach lowering springs all round, steering being handled by a Mercedes-Benz electric power steering pump, and a new Group A loom handles the electrical side. With such a considered approach to restoration and improvement, this Sapphire is certain to please anyone looking for a practical, rapid and eye-catching modern classic saloon. Please click the link to view the walkaround video of this lot: click hereFootnotes:Please note the odometer reading is 7,832.Vendor Score Total: 81/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. It also uses the same Performance Traction Management system, active damping and rear differential as the Corvette, and a 10-speed automatic gearbox that's shared with the Ford F150 Raptor. The brakes are also significantly larger, which is lucky as the ZL1 has a 0-60mph time of just 3.5 seconds and a reported top speed of 173mph. This Blue Hyper example is a 2017 car that has a low mileage of just 6,900 miles. The exterior and black suede interior is still in excellent condition, and the supercharged V8 is said to be performing well and it should. The vendor has stated that an upgraded air intake and supercharger pulley has been fitted, both of which lift the power up to 750hp. The originals are still available to return the car to stock if preferred. These ZL1 Camaros are rare in the UK, and this is a unique opportunity to purchase a vehicle that is already on the road and ready to be driven.Footnotes:*750hp Camaro ZL1*Upgraded intake & supercharger pulley*Low mileageThe ZL1 Camaro is the ultimate version of Chevrolet's iconic muscle car, and is powered by the same 6.2-litre Supercharged V8 that's found in the Corvette Z06. The Oxford to Arizona2010 Land Rover Defender 130 Nene Overland ExpeditionRegistration no. FV60 BFJChassis no. SALLDKHS7AA798058Odometer reading: 34,000 (approx.)MOT Expiry: October 2021 *Unique Defender 130 converted camper*Incredibly capable and comfortable*Used by vendor for trips around the world*J. E. Engineering upgradesFootnotes:The Land Rover Defender is one of the world's most capable off-road vehicles, and this bespoke 130 camper is the ultimate example. First purchased new by the vendor in 2010, this Defender 130 was originally a crew cab pick-up before it was converted to a camper with the intention of use for trips around the world. Upgrades include a plethora of additions that improve the on-road comfort of the vehicle, including a J. E. Engineering upgraded intercooler (that increases the power to 185bhp). This allows for much improved performance for long distance driving at 70mph. Furthermore the cab is also fitted with air conditioning and Recaro seats (which allow for greater legroom for taller drivers and passengers). A rear diff lock and front mounted winch are also fitted for improved off-road capability. The camper body is also completely bespoke and incredibly spacious. Features include a full-size double bed, cooker, fridge, sink, shower, toilet, two armchairs and plenty of storage. It is also very well insulated and has an Eberspacheroil fired heater for additional comfort in colder climates. The vendor has stated that he spent 49 consecutive nights in the vehicle and found it very comfortable. The history and use of the vehicle is also incredible (and must be one of the best-travelled modern Defenders out there). The vendor has driven the car around Europe, the US (through 30 of the 50 states), Canada, and Alaska, as well as China, Tibet and Nepal. It has traversed some of the worst roads in the world, crossed passes at over 16,000ft and experienced temperatures of up to 44ËšC in Arizona and down to -30ËšC in Tibet. It is reported to have started and run perfectly at both extremes. Due to its size, the car can also be easily shipped and just about fits into a 20ft container. Considering its use and worldwide travels, the car is in an excellent condition inside and out and has a low mileage of approximately 34,000 miles. A full service history is also included with the sale as well as details and photos of its travels. This is an amazing opportunity to own a unique and incredibly capable Land Rover. The car has just been serviced and is now ready for its next adventure.Vendor Score Total: 91/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1926 Bean 14hp Commercial PickupRegistration no. PX 4222Chassis no. B371534Odometer reading: TBAMOT Expiry: Exempt*Previously restored*Good history file*Useable conditionTo view a video of this lot please click hereOriginally founded in 1822 as an iron foundry, Harper & Sons proceeded to diversify in 1907 after George Bean became the company chairman. The name of the firm was changed to Harper & Sons & Bean, and the company then began to diversify and produce components for the British motor industry. Following the outbreak of WWI however, the company then focused its Dudley and Tipton factories to munition production. Following the end of the war, the firm then returned to motor manufacturing in 1919 and acquired the rights to the pre-war Perry 11.9hp from Willys-Overland. The Perry was powered by a 1,796cc side-valve four with fixed cylinder head, which drove via a cone clutch, separate three-speed gearbox, and spiral bevel rear axle. Sadly the Perry never achieved the planned production targets, and the company was then wound up in 1920. A year later in 1921 however, the firm was revived with a new model known as the Twelve – which would remain in production until 1927. That same year, Harper-Bean (as it had become known), was taken over by steel supplier Hadfield's of Sheffield, after which the cars were then marketed as Hadfield-Bean. This 1926 14hp example was originally bodied as a five-seater Tourer, however in 1927 it was converted into a commercial pickup truck. In 1998 the vehicle was acquired by Bredgar & Wormshill Light Railway, who restored the car and featured it in their collection. The vehicle is largely original, bar a newer 1.6 Ford Pinto engine and gearbox. A new owner then acquired the vehicle in 2010, where it was professionally stored and serviced annually. The current owner purchased the vehicle from a Bonhams auction in 2017, and has used it regularly and ensured that it has been kept in a good and roadworthy condition. A copy of the restoration notes, owners handbook, and various historical documents are also included with the sale. The engine is running and driving well.Footnotes:Vendor Score Total: 62/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. The car has been laid up in storage for the past 30 years (drained of fluids) but has been regularly turned over every 3 months. It is believed to have been restored in 1979. The car was last on the road 15 years ago for a family wedding, and is understood to have come from Scandinavia due to the snow shoes/covers over on the running board foot plates. Overall the bodywork is solid and the interior is original and in fair condition. 1931 Austin Seven (Crank Handle Cabriolet)Coachwork by TickfordRegistration no. FO 2847Chassis no. 141590Odometer reading: N/AMOT Expiry: N/A *Rare coach-built Tickford example*Restored in 1990 and recently in 2014*Detailed service historyFootnotes:The Austin 7 was a revolutionary car not just for the British automotive market but also for the company itself. Produced between 1922 and 1939, the 7 was Austin's first small car and sold in record numbers. Once production had wound up in 1939 over 290,000 had been sold, completely changing British car market and outselling many of its competitors. This 1931 Seven is an exceptionally rare coach-built Tickford example and is presented in very good overall condition. Two restorations have been undertaken during its lifetime, once in 1990 and again in 2014. The engine has also been completely rebuilt and now features a Phoenix crankshaft and high compression cylinder head. This is a well maintained example that includes a detailed, hand written service history. The wheels and tyres are also in good condition and have plenty of tread, with recent works including renewed front brakes and a new starter ring gear fitted. Overall this is a lovely well-cared for example and it is believed that there are only a handful of Tickford built Sevens left, so this is an opportunity not to be missed.Vendor Score Total: 73/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1965 Fiat Autobianchi BianchinaRegistration no. JGU 39OCChassis no. 110B082800Odometer reading: TBAMOT Expiry: Exempt*Very original example*Formally exhibited in the Fiat Museum*Rebuilt engineBased on the original Fiat 500, the Autobianchi Bianchina debuted in 1957 as a small yet sophisticated car that was offered in saloon, cabriolet, estate and van configurations. This 1965 example, presented in an excellent condition, was exhibited in the Fiat 500 museum in Garlenda on the Italian Riviera before its life in the UK. Since its arrival and previous ownership, the car has been kept very well and has been serviced regularly by its enthusiast owner, who purchased the car at the Bonhams 2016 Goodwood members meeting. Prior to the vendors ownership, the vehicle was kept as part of a private collection and used sparingly and solely for the summer. This is a very original example that is thought to be one of the cleanest and unmolested Bianchina's left on the road. The previous owner undertook an engine rebuild of its original 499cc engine, which required work due to brittle gaskets. During the rebuild the engine was bored out from 67.4mm to 70mm to give it a little extra power. The bodywork, bumpers and all the external and internal features are believed to be original. Even the windscreen stickers and supplying dealer sticker (Commissionaria Autobianchi, Ginno Nanni, Pistoria, Italia) are still in place. The car also comes with its original owner's manual, Italian service book and registration documents, spare key, copy correspondence, V5C, and photographs of its time in the museum. 1966 Jaguar MK2 3.8 SaloonRegistration no. DFB 421DChassis no. 233695DNOdometer reading: N/AMOT Expiry: N/A *Barn find Jaguar MK2 project car*3.8 manual overdrive gearbox*Matching numbers*Sold for restorationFootnotes:The Jaguar MK2 was one of Jaguar's most capable and successful vehicles of the 1960s, and was produced with the aim of matching the company's famous slogan 'Grace... Space... Pace'. The 3.8 in particular was the ultimate version of the MK2 and was powered by the renowned 3.8-litre straight-six engine that produced 220bhp. Powering the rear wheels via a four-speed manual gearbox, this combination propelled the car to 60mph in just 8.5 seconds – figures that could match a car of a much more recent vintage. This 1966 example presents itself as a unique opportunity to restore a barn find project car. Originally finished in Blue with a Grey interior, it is believed to have been last taxed and on the road in 1983. The car will need a full restoration and the exterior bodywork, paint, interior and engine bay areas will require particular attention. The car is currently not running, but is believed to be largely complete. This is an exciting opportunity to restore a sought-after example of Jaguar's famous executive saloon.Vendor Score Total: 29/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1972 Aston Martin V8 Series 2 Sports SaloonRegistration no. not UK registeredChassis no. V8/10548/RCAOdometer reading: 67,376MoT Expiry: n/a*Offered without reserve*Delivered new in the UK*Automatic transmission*Requires re-commissioningFootnotes:With an estimated 345bhp available from its 5,340cc, fuel-injected, four-cam motor, Aston Martin's DBS V8 could reach 100mph in under 14 seconds, running on to a top speed of 160mph, a staggering performance in those days and one that fully justified the claim that it was the world's fastest production car. Even in automatic transmission form the V8 could reach 100mph in around 15 seconds and better 145mph flat-out. The acquisition of Aston Martin by Company Developments in 1972 brought with it a change of name for the V8-engined cars: out went DBS V8, in came AM V8. This new Series 2 was readily distinguishable by its restyled front end that now featured two instead of four headlamps and recalled the looks of the earlier DB six-cylinder Aston Martins. Bosch mechanical fuel injection was retained while electronic ignition and air conditioning were now standardised. According to the factory despatch records (copy on file), this Aston Martin V8 was retailed via Sundridge Park Motors in September 1972. The car was originally finished in Cornish Gold with black interior trim, and left the Newport Pagnell factory equipped with automatic transmission option. The AMOC Register records a UK registration of '700 FXH' for '10548' (1991). As the car has spent a period of time in storage it will require re-commissioning at the very least before returning to the road. Offered without reserve, this early V8 is sold as viewed and subject to the reduced import tax of 5% should it remain in the UK.Vendor Score Total: 53/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. Today the aim is to offer the maximum of luxury and refinement as well as the ultimate in road performance. The minor barbarities of so many great sports cars of the past are no longer acceptable – at least in the hand built models now leaving Newport Pagnell. Obviously such a car as the DB6 is expensive and exclusive but the value matches the price.' – Autocar, 1966. Last-of-the-line models have always fascinated collectors, and none more so than the Aston Martin DB6. A desirable manual transmission model, this DB6 was retailed by the Arnold G Wilson Ltd agency and sold new to Carl C Rosen Esq of York. The copy guarantee form shows that the car left the factory equipped with the 3.73:1 rear axle; a limited-slip differential; chrome wheels; a heated rear screen; and a power operated aerial. The original colour scheme was Autumn Gold (the same colour that appeared on the DB5 offered by Bonhams at the Festival of Speed sale earlier in the month) with black Connolly leather interior, and the DB6 was first registered as 'PVY 1'. The current owner purchased the car in the USA in 2007 and laid up in long-term storage. Copies of the old Arizona Certificate of Tile and the sale/purchase paperwork are on file together with the aforementioned guarantee form copy. As the car has spent a period of time in storage it will require re-commissioning at the very least before returning to the road. 2000 Mini CooperRegistration no. X892 DBAChassis no. SAXXNRAZEYD183534Odometer reading: 17,400 milesMOT Expiry: April 2022*Genuine UK car*Exceptional low mileage *Fresh MOTThe Rover Mini was the final take on the iconic Alec Issigonis designed car, and the last original Mini to be produced. Officially known as the Mark VII, the Rover Mini offered features not seen before in the car, such as a driver's side airbag, side impact protection beams, and additional sound insulation. These features, including revised front seats, arguably made the Mark VII the most comfortable and usable version of the classic Mini. This 2000 Tahiti blue example was originally supplied new by Lookers Wilmslow to a Mr Brian Wolfe of Cheadle on 9th Sept 2000. The car comes with a large history file, which states that Lookers gave the car its first service in 2001. Mepglow Mini then carried out the servicing in 2004, 2005 and 2006 up to a mileage 8,505 miles. Royles Motor Group then serviced the car in 2017 at 16,000 miles. The car was purchased by the vendor in April 2019 from Richard Williams Classic Minis Ltd, and the mileage is now 17,400. Forming part of a private collection, this example is in a truly excellent condition. The bodywork, paint, interior all present well. The engine starts and runs as it should and will be driven to the auction by the vendor. This is a lovely, low mileage example that is increasingly rare to find in this condition. Produced between 1972 and 1981, the E12 was also one of the first cars to debut the company's iconic 'shark nose' design that now defines BMWs of the late 20th century. This later example E12 was first registered on 13 October 1980 and is believed to have been originally owned by the construction company Sir Robert McAlpine. This is uniquely commemorated on a plaque in the engine bay that also displays the chassis number. This model, a 525, is also powered by BMW's M30 2.5-litre straight-six engine, which is famous for its smooth yet high-revving nature. The car also has a very low mileage of only 57,261 miles. There is little history with the car, however the vendor has stated that he is the fourth owner of the car after his father, who previously owned the car for over 30 years until he passed away in July 2020. Outside, the car is finished in sapphire blue metallic with a dark blue cloth interior. Both the bodywork and paintwork present well, and interior is also in a very good condition. Externally the car could be brought up to a much higher standard if desired. BMWs from this era are fast appreciating, and this is a lovely first generation example of the company's well-regarded executive saloon.Vendor Score Total: 74/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1999 BMW M5 (E39) Sports SaloonRegistration no. H8 MDVChassis no. WBSDE92020BJ10095Odometer reading: 93,900MOT: 27/06/2022*Good condition*6-speed manual*Full service historyFootnotes:The E39 BMW M5 is becoming increasingly sought after in the modern classic car market, and for good reason. Upon its release in 1998, the E39 M5 redefined what it meant to be a BMW supersaloon, and it featured a brand new 394bhp 4.9-litre S62 V8 engine – a first for the M5. However it wasn't just the new engine that took the car forward, but it was also under the skin with its mechanical limited slip differential, McPherson front suspension (with aluminium control arms) and multi-link rear set-up that could easily handle the M5's new found power. The E39 is often thought of as being the last mechanical and truly engaging iterations of the M5, and it was the last generation in the UK to be offered with a manual transmission. This 1999 M5 is a six-speed manual example and is presented in excellent condition. Finished in Anthracite Grey with a red leather interior, both the interior and exterior of the car present very well considering its mileage of 93,900 miles. The car comes with a full service history and has been very well maintained. It features all its original handbooks including a fully stamped service book with 11 stamps up until its last service in 2019. The book is also filled with multiple old bills and receipts to verify its maintenance. It has also just received a fresh MOT with expiry in June 2022 as well as a brake line overhaul, and it also comes with a V5c. This is an excellent example of a one of the greatest BMW M cars ever produced.Vendor Score Total: 89/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. The Insight was in fact the first hybrid vehicle to go on sale in Europe, and is also known to have one of the lowest drag coefficients of any production car at 0.25.This 2001 Insight is a well looked after example that has only three owners from new, the second of which owned the car from April 2003 until June 2016. The current owner has owned the car ever since and has maintained it to a very high standard. The car's impeccable service record is proof of this, with over 70 receipts showing approximately £30,000 spent on maintenance over its lifetime (£7,000 of which has been spent by the current owner). These maintenance items include a new 144-volt IMA battery from Honda in 2013, a new catalytic converter in 2020 (following a failed sensor), and a full respray in 2016. Cosmetically, the car is in a very good condition inside and out and has been shown at numerous events including the Beaulieu Simply Japanese Show in 2016 and the Fully Charged Show at Silverstone in 2019. This is a good low mileage example of an increasingly sought after modern sports car.Vendor Score Total: 77/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. WVWZZZ19ZGW658595Odometer reading: 89,000MOT Expiry: 20/06/2022*Low mileage Pirelli edition*Good condition*Running and driving wellFootnotes:The MK2 Golf GTI was a worthy successor to the MK1 GTI. Not only did it look good with its bold 80s styling, but it also retained the classic GTI features that were popular in the MK1, such as the red detailing and golf ball styled gear knob. The MK2 was also larger and thus more practical than its predecessor, but it also had improved performance and better handling. This 1986 example is a rare Pirelli edition model that is often distinguished by its unique Pirelli 'P slot' alloy wheels. Cosmetically the car is in a good condition, and the inside also presents very well. There is little history with the car however it has been well looked after and is largely original. It also has a relatively low mileage of 89,000 miles. Many Golf GTIs of this era have been extensively modified and have a much higher mileage, so an example such as this with good history, is becoming increasingly hard to come by.Vendor Score Total: 78/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. The styling is also the embodiment of Mercedes from the 1980s and 1990s, and it harks back to an era of understated style with its smooth lines, squared grille and three-pointed star bonnet ornament. The cabriolet, also known as the A124, was first launched in 1991 as the 320CE and 300CE, however these were later re-designated as the E320 in 1993. This later 1996 example is a one owner car from new and was initially leased via a leasing company in June 1996. It was originally specified to a high standard and includes the factory Sportsline package, heated leather seats and wind deflector. The car has been very well looked after throughout its lifetime, and the bodywork, paintwork and interior are all in very good condition. An overall refurbishment was also undertaken in 2006, which included fitting two new front wings and a new roof. Recent work includes a new wiring loom which was fitted in September 2020 (invoice available). The central locking however is currently not working and will require some attention. There is a good history file included with the car with regular servicing at Mercedes specialists, and the 3.2-litre straight-six engine is proof of this and is running and driving very well. The original handbook and Mercedes owner's manual are also included with the first aid package, tools and warning triangle. One owner examples of the W124 and A124 are very hard to come by, and this is an excellent and well-cared for example.Vendor Score Total: 75/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. It was essentially an upgraded version of the TB, and shared the same 1,250cc engine but with a higher compression ratio of 7:4:1, allowing for greater horsepower. The TC was also 4 inches wider than its predecessor, but also slightly faster with its improved engine and 4-speed gearbox. Upon its introduction it was also available in three colours: Black, Regency Red or Shires Green. This Regency Red 1949 example is in very good restored condition having previously been part restored in the 1980s, and then completed by Exclusive Classic Cars Ltd in 2018. The bodywork, paintwork and interior are in excellent condition, and there is a good history file that includes the documentation and bills for the restoration. The vendor purchased the car in 2018 and reports it's currently running and driving well, however the half shafts may benefit from replacement. Restored in 1994 and imported into the UK in 1999, the car has a very good history file that includes multiple old MOTs and tax discs (as well as a photographic record of its restoration). Produced between 1970 and 1977, the Stag presented a more muscular look compared with the Triumphs of the 1960s, and also featured a powertrain to match – the 3.0 litre Triumph V8. This 1973 car has been in its current ownership since 2013, and has been regularly serviced and MoT'd throughout its ownership. The car runs and drives very well and has been used on a regular basis, but not excessively. A lot of work on the car was undertaken prior to the vendor's purchase, including a new cylinder head, water pump, new front brake discs and pads, front and rear bushes, springs and joints, as well as an automatic gearbox service. The bodywork is in very good condition, and the underside and engine bay are also very clean. Inside, the car presents very well, however the driver's seat will require a small amount of stitching. The rear seats have also received seat belt fixtures, allowing an additional element of usability. This example is a ninth generation car that was produced between 1971 and 1978, and it has a gracious look that embodies American car design of the 1970s. Its look was substantially redesigned for its introduction, with the car growing 2 inches in length and 6 inches in the wheelbase compared to its predecessor. It was also powered by an enormous 8.2-litre V8 engine, which at the time was the largest engine in the world to power a passenger car. Imported into the UK in 1995, this 1972 Eldorado is a good, honest example that is running and driving well. The white paintwork and bodywork are both in good condition, and its green and white vinyl interior is also presenting well. Its electric folding roof is said to be working well. 1952 Jaguar XK120 ProjectRegistration no. N/AChassis no. 673053Odometer reading: 20,460MOT Expiry: N/A*Original and desirable restoration project*High compression engine US market model*Offered with numerous spare partsTo view a video of this lot please click hereFootnotes:The Jaguar XK120 was a revolutionary car not just for Jaguar but also post war sports cars, with its advanced twin cam engine and torsion bar front suspension that gave the car unrivalled performance. This 1952 car is an example that is well worth restoring from a financial and ownership perspective, and could prove satisfying in both regards. The car has a gearbox and rear-axle, also benefiting from a healthy spare parts supply from Jaguar specialists, with many components being remanufactured. The car was previously the property of a racing driver who had his own in-house mechanic that looked after the car for many years. The car appears very complete and is a matching numbers vehicle, retaining its original cylinder head and block. Whilst in need of restoration, the body, which bears the number E 5070, shows to be in very good shape and has been recently repainted. The interior also appears to be in good condition, with the black vinyl seats appearing complete and usable (and with the black carpet still in place). The dashboard and instruments are also largely complete and are in a restorable condition. The mileage shows only 20,460 miles which is very low for a car of this age. Originally a US specification car, it is believed that it was dispatched to the USA in October 1952 where it was kept in a much dryer climate compared to the that of the UK, where it has recently been repatriated. This is an excellent opportunity to own a much sought after classic Jaguar sports car with great potential.Vendor Score Total: 25/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. PJL 640JChassis no. 5820014Odometer reading: 96,992MOT: Exempt*Rare XK150 project car*Many original spare parts included*Good historyFootnotes:Launched in 1957, the Jaguar XK150 was the third and final iteration of the XK series, following on from the XK120 and XK140. Available as both a fixed-head coupé or a drophead coupé, the XK150 featured updated styling and various mechanical improvements, including four-wheel disc brakes. The car was launched with a 210bhp 3.4-litre straight-six engine that propelled the car to 60mph in just 7.6 seconds. It could also reach a top speed of 130mph, which was an incredible feat for a roadster at the time. This 1958 'barn find' example is an original right-hand drive vehicle that was exported to Cycle & Carriage Co. in Singapore on 15 December 1958. It is then known to have returned to the UK in 1971. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to purchase a project vehicle that comes with many spare parts and its original engine. The parts include the original jack and spanner, three Jaguar spanners, a prop shaft, and various other items. There is also the original hood, spare wheel, rear bumper, two wings and the tool board. A heritage certificate and vehicle information sheet is also included, as is the original service handbook and spare keys. The mileage is recorded at 96,992. The present owner intended on getting the vehicle restored but is sadly selling due to ill health. There is enormous potential on offer. This has resulted in demand being satisfied by the replica-building industry. Built by Porsche Spyder Inc specialist Rob Lindsay in 2003, this 718 RSK replica is powered by an air-cooled 2.2-litre Volkswagen engine incorporating a counterweighted long-stroke crankshaft, 'I'-beam con-rods; lightened and balanced flywheel with heavy-duty clutch plate and a high-performance camshaft and followers. The engine breathes via twin carburettors and drives via an up-rated gearbox incorporating side pressure plates. Other noteworthy features include a front disc brake conversion (retaining the traditional 5-stud slotted steel wheels and hubs), large-bore full stainless-steel exhaust system with central single exit pipe, alloy fuel filler cap, luggage box under rear body section, and low Perspex screens as per the original racers. It also boasts original Porsche badging including 'Wendler' coachbuilder's badges and 'Nürburgring' plaque on the driver's side. The car is appropriately finished in silver with red leather interior, the latter featuring a MotoLita wood-rim steering wheel. A 4-point harnesses on each seat, Porsche style mint green instrument dials, billet aluminium knobs and switches and a push button starter complete the interior. 1990 Citroen 2CV6 SpecialRegistration no. 22 TTJ 75Chassis no. VF7AZKA00KA372339Odometer reading: 377kmsMOT Expiry: N/A*Immaculate 'as new' 2CV*Incredible low mileage of just 377 kms*French specification*One of the last to be produced To view a video of this lot please click hereFootnotes:The Citroen 2CV is one of the most recognisable cars in the world, and is also one of the most successful French cars to be ever be produced. Today, it is as sought after as it has ever been, and it's a classic that's known for its incredible versatility and charm. This 1990 car is a very rare time capsule example with only 377 kilometres from new, and it also has a very interesting backstory to match. On a rainy day in October 1990, the vendor was on a flying visit to London and happened by chance to be in Berkeley Square. A sudden storm appeared, which quickly drove him to shelter in a Citroën showroom, where he got talking to Julian, a sales representative. To repel Julian's suspicion that he was only there to avoid the rainfall, the vendor conjured up a diversion to lambast him about Citroen's decision to cease production of the 2CV (which the vendor already owned a 1986 example). Julian then swiftly replied with a polite yet defensive justification, and apologised. However, it was after this that Julian then conceded that: 'if you're really interested, we are agents for the few still available, all left hand drive.'This limited availability seemed to make all difference, and the vendor then proceeded to quickly place his order. A week later, the vendor then collected his car in question from Calais, drove it onto the ferry to Dover, and then smiled all the way to his mother-in-law's large, dry garage near Oxford before flying back to Italy (where the vendor lived at the time). On their next trip to England, the vendor trailed it to The Tin Snail Company in Worthing for Waxoiling, then trailed back to Oxford where it remained unused only because unexpectedly, the vendor moved from Italy to the USA.While there, an idea matured that upon the car's 25th birthday, it could be imported into the USA and be sold there without needing to comply with EPA and DOT Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS). But upon that milestone, the enthusiasm for the sale diminished. As a result the vendor now feels that the car is too precious to use casually, and has now decided to list it for sale – leaving it for someone else to either use, cherish, or place in a museum. This is a truly immaculate example, with the bodywork, paintwork, interior and engine bay all presenting in an 'as new' and excellent condition. This is a very rare opportunity to own a pristine, low mileage 2CV that comes with a unique and interesting backstory to match.Vendor Score Total: 100/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH.
