Harri Koskinen - Design House, Sweden - A 'Block' lamp, glass ice block with internal light bulb, 8cm x 11.5cm x 8cm. NB - The Block Lamp has been showered with design awards ever since it was produced, including: Excellent Swedish Design in 1998, the Design Plus Award at the Ambiente Trade Fair in Frankfurt, as well as Best New Product at the accent show in New York in 1999. The lamp became part of MoMA’s permanent collection in 2000. Last year Harri received the Torsten and Wanja Söderberg Prize, Scandinavia’s most prominent design award.

Third Reich Luftwaffe 1st Pattern Officers Dress Dagger, fine example of a later type with aluminium fittings. Much of the gilt wash finish remains to the sundial swastikas in the centre of the pommel and cross guard. Blue leather covered grip with the original wire binding. Housed in the blue leather covered scabbard with aluminium scabbard fittings. Full length aluminium hanging chains with brown leather ‘D’ ring strap hanger. Double edged plain blade without makers trademark. Blue leather washer to the base of the blade. Some light spotting to the blade but generally a very good example of this type of dagger. Blade 30 ¾ cms, overall 50cms.
Scarce WW2 German Luftwaffe 2nd Pattern Officers Dress Dagger with Double Etched Blade by Carl Eickhorn, Solingen, fine example of a standard 2nd model dress dagger with white celluloid grip retaining the wire binding. Pommel with swastika to both sides and cross guard in the form of a eagle in flight. Attached to the grip is the original officers full dress portepee / knot. Housed in the original scabbard with two bands and hanging rings which the pair of deluxe pattern brocade hanging straps are attached too. The blade is double etched with foliage and droop tail Luftwaffe eagle to the front and the reverse side has foliage and ‘Jagdgeschwader 5 Eismeerjäger’. Oval Carl Eickhorn makers trade mark to the base. Some light areas of pitting to the blade but generally a good condition example. Blade 24 ¾ cms, overall 43 ½ cms.
WW2 German Naval Officers Sword by WKC, fine untouched example of a standard Third Reich period naval officers sword with lion head pommel having port and starboard jewelled eyes, knuckle guard with relief of acorns and oakleaves, folding cross guard with oakleaves and anchor to the centre. Reverse with plain catch plate. Polished bone grip with wire binding, section to the bottom now absent. Housed in the original black leather and brass mounted scabbard. The scabbard mounts have dome covers to the staples. Curved blade with a light etched decoration to both sides and the spine. The etched sailing ships with swastikas to the flags. WKC makers trademark to the base of the blade. Some wear but generally still a good example. The blade measures 78 ½ cms, overall 93cms.
Rare Third Reich SS (Schutzstaffel) Dress Dagger by Ed Gembruch, Solingen, superb near mint condition example of a model 33 enlisted mans dress dagger with the grip having its original eagle and enamel SS runes inserted. The lower cross guard is stamped with district mark ‘I’. Housed in the original matching scabbard with near perfect bottom ball mount, just some light scratches to the finish. The dagger has a near mint condition double edged blade with much of the original cross graining still present. Blade with standard motto ‘Meine Ehre heist Treue’ and the reverse has the rare makers trademark of a fish for Ed Gembruch, Solingen. The blade measures 22cms, overall 37cms. Overall this is a superb example of an SS mans dress dagger by one of the rarest and hardest makers to find.
Third Reich Transitional DLV / Luftwaffe 1st Pattern Dress Dagger by J A Henckels, Solingen, early nickel plated officers dress dagger with sun dial swastikas to the pommel and centre of the cross guard. Blue leather covered grip with wire binding. Housed in blue leather covered scabbard with nickel plated fittings having the staple dome covers to the reverse of the fittings which is typical of the DLV daggers. Original full length hanging chains attached to the scabbard. Plain double edged blade with makers trade mark to the base. Blade measures 31cms, overall 47 ½ cms. Some light wear to the blade and gilt wash from the swastikas now absent.
Third Reich NSKK Dress Dagger Attributed to SS-Obergruppenführer Hermann Höfle, Who Played a Vital Role in Suppressing the Slovak National Uprising, Later Being Trialled and Sentenced to Death for War Crimes, this dagger being an enlisted mans type with a light brown wood grip, having nickel plated eagle and enamel SA device. Both the upper and lower cross guard mounts have been beautifully hand chassed with an leaf pattern. The dagger is housed in its original scabbard, where once again the mounts have been hand chased. The reverse of the top scabbard mount is engraved in gothic lettering, ‘Hermann Höfle nskk-mün. 17.aug.1934’. Standard blade with motto ‘Alles fur Deutschland’ and the reverse with the makers trademark for J P Sauer & Sohn, Sühl. The blade shows some wear with staining and oil marks. The blade 21 ¾ cms, overall 38cms. Hermann Höfle was born on 12th September 1898. The son of a postal official, he enlisted in the Bavarian army in 1916, serving with Infantry regiment Nr8. He transferred to the Imperial German Air Service later in the war, where he served as an Observer. After WW1, Höfle served in the Freikorps and later with Ernst Rohm, was present at the Beer Hall Putsch. He officially joined the SA (Sturmabteilung) in the 1930’s. From 1934-1937, he was part of the NSKK in Munich, rising through the ranks of the NSKK through to 1943. At the request of Heinrich Himmler, Höfle left the NSKK and joined the SS (Schutzstaffel) where he became a SS-Obergruppenführer in an administration role. He was serving in Slovakia and was a pivotal player in the suppression of the Slovak National Uprising in 1944. He was arrested by the Czechoslovakian authorities after the war and was put on trial along with Hanns Ludin and both were sentenced to death and executed on 9th December 1947, it is believed however that he may have died in custody earlier than this date.
Third Reich Transitional SA (Sturmabteilung) Dress Dagger by Klitermann & Moog, Haan Solingen, later type transitional RZM period SA dagger with wooden grip, nickel eagle and enamel SA device. Plated mounts, reverse of the lower cross guard stamped ‘Ns’. Housed in its original scabbard, centre being refinished in a light brown paint. Attached to the scabbard is an original brown leather SA vertical dagger hanger. Double edged blade with the motto ‘Alles fur Deutschland’ and makers trademark and RZM logo with ‘M 7/29 – 1939’. Blade is in generally good condition. Blade 22cms, overall 37 ½ cms.
Third Reich SA (Sturmabteilung) Dagger by EP&S, Solingen with Dedication to the Blade, with light brown wooden grip having nickel silver eagle and enamel SA device. Nickel grip mounts, with the lower mount being stamped with Gau mark ‘Nm’. Housed in the original scabbard with worn three piece brown leather hanger. Blade with motto ‘Alles fur Deutschland’, reverse with makers trademark and a engraved four line dedication ‘SA-OBERGRUPPENFÜHRER HERZOG IN HERZLICHER ALTER KÄMPFER KAMERADSCHAFT 30-10-1936 ADOLF KOL SA – GRUPPE MITTE’. The blade shows wear and has pitting. The blade measures 22 ¼ cms, overall 37cms. Dents to the scabbard and the lower ball mount on the scabbard.
Third Reich Red Cross (D.R.K) Enlisted Mans Dagger, having two piece grips, cross guard with German Red Cross emblem to the centre. Housed in its original scabbard. Complete with a brown leather frog. Polished blade having sawback edge and screwdriver flat tip. Stamped ‘GES GESCHUTZ’ to the base of the blade under the cross guard. Blade shows some wear, scabbard with some scuffing and light surface rusting. Generally good condition example. Blade 26 ¾ cms, overall 41cms.
Third Reich Postschutz Officials Dress Dagger by Paul Weyersberg, Solingen, blackened grip with postschutz eagle to the centre. Some plating lifting to the top pommel, cross guard with blackened swastika to the centre and the underside stamped ‘2050’ and ‘D.R.P’. Housed in the original scabbard with hanging chains having the correct DRGM marked clip (slightly out of shape). Double edged blade with the makers trademark to the base. The blade retains much of the cross graining. The blade measures 24 ½ cms, overall 39 ½ cms. Some light scuffs and small chips to the grip, scuffs to scabbard and mounted with a well made collectors replacement Postschutz style knot.
Third Reich SA (Sturmabteilung) Dress Dagger by Haco, Berlin, fine example of an early model SA dress dagger with light brown wooden grip having the original eagle and enamel SA device. Reverse of the lower cross guard is stamped with the gau mark ‘B’. Housed in the original early anodised scabbard with a three piece brown leather hanger attached. Some denting to the lower ball mount of the scabbard chape. Excellent condition blade with much of the original polish and cross graining remaining. Standard motto ‘Alles fur Deutschland’ and makers trademark to the reverse. The blade measures 22cms, overall 37cms.
WW2 German Army Officers Dagger with Artificial Damascus and Gilt Presentation Blade Infantry Regiment Nr 41 by Alcoso, Solingen, good example with cream celluloid grip, pommel with oakleaves relief, army cross guard and housed in the original scabbard. Attached to the grip is original officers dress knot / portepee. Double edged artificial Damascus blade with gilt eagle to the obverse and the reverse in gilt ‘Inftr. Regt. Nr. 41 Amberg/Bayer. Ostmark’ and makers trademark also in gilt. The blade measures 25 ¼ cms, overall 40cms. Some light wear but generally an excellent example of a very rare army dagger.
Rare Third Reich TENO (Technische Nothilfe) Officers Dress Dagger by Carl Eickhorn, Solingen, orange celluloid grip, pommel with cog wheel, Teno pattern eagle cross guard. Complete with officers bullion dress knot / portepee. Housed in the original scabbard with two hanging rings. Double edged blade with Carl Eickhorn makers trademark and TENO eagle with ‘GES GESCH’. The dagger blade is numbered ‘0737’ and the scabbard throat is stamped ‘737’. The blade measures 27 ¾ cms, overall 43cms. Some light wear to the exterior fittings. Generally a good example of a rare dagger.The dagger crossguard has been repaired
Third Reich SA (Sturmabteilung) Marine Dagger by J A Henckels, Solingen, good example of a SA Marine enlisted mans dress dagger, being the later type with standard brown wooden handle and the gilded handle and scabbard fittings. Standard early type eagle and enamel SA device. The lower cross guard is stamped ‘Wf’. Anodised scabbard with single hanging ring. Standard double edged blade with motto ‘Alles fur Deutschland’ and makers trademark to the reverse. The blade measures 22cms, overall 37cms. Some wear to the light gilt wash to the fittings and dents / crack to the ball on the lower scabbard mount. Still a good example of a hard to find dagger.
Rare WW2 German Deluxe Pattern Kriegsmarine Officers Dress Dagger by WKC, superb example of the very rare deluxe model naval officers dagger with deep orange celluloid grip with the original wire binding. Gilt metal eagle pommel top and cross guard. Complete with its original dress portepee / knot in light golden wire with silver fleck. Dagger is complete with the deluxe hand chassed and hammered scabbard. Fine condition double edged blade with the standard etched decoration and makers trademark to the base. The blade measures 25cms, overall 40 ¾ cms. These deluxe pattern scabbards were special order by the particular naval officer from WKC and you can find various types of these, see ‘Exploring the Dress Daggers of the German Navy’ by Thomas T Wittmann pages 371-376 for more information about these specially produced / purchased daggers.
Fine Deluxe Pattern Imperial German Naval Officers Blue, Gilt and Damascus Dirk, fine example produced by WKC, with gilt metal Imperial crown pommel and ivory grip having two bands of wire. Gilt metal cross guard having anchor to the centre cartouche, no release button to the cross guard. Attached to the grip is an original officers silver bullion wire dress portepee. Gilt brass scabbard with ornate roped scabbard ring bands, one side engraved with initials of the previous owner and the other side with an engraved anchor. The blade is of superior quality with fine Damascus pattern and blue and gilt decoration to three quarters. Blade decorated to one side with Imperial crowned trophy of arms, sailing ship and standard trophy of arms above. Reverse side of the blade etched with sailing ship, foliage and dedication in ribbon ‘FESTEN MUTH’S IN STURM UND GEFAHR’ (Firm Courage in Storm and Danger). Blade with small WKC knights helmet trade mark to the base. Overall the dirk is in good condition with nearly all of the blue and gilt finish remaining to the blade. The scabbard has some light wear and small dents with one screw missing to the throat. Blade 37 ¼ cms, overall 52 ½ cms. Ivory exemption declaration JVG9LJWW. Third Reich TENO (Technische Nothilfe) Enlisted Mans Dress Dagger with Leather Hanger by Carl Eickhorn, Solingen, good example with two white celluloid grip plates, eagle head pommel top and cross guard with the original eagle and TENO emblem. Housed in the original blackened scabbard with plated top and lower scabbard mounts. Attached to the scabbard is the original black leather special pattern hanger with metal clips and thin securing strap which has damage that is very common with these hangers. Top of the scabbard throat is stamped with issue numbers ‘7770’, these numbers are lightly etched to the blade under the cross guard. The standard hewer blade has TENO emblem with ‘GES GESCH’ and Carl Eickhorn, Solingen makers trademark to the reverse. The blade measures 24 ½ cms, overall 41cms. Light areas of plating lifting to the exterior fittings and wear to the hanger but generally a good example of this type of dress dagger.
Third Reich SS (Schutzstaffel) Officers Chained Dress Dagger with Dedication to the Blade, fine untouched example of an early SS officers dress dagger with the original eagle and enamel SS runes emblem. The scabbard with type 2 chains has some light wear. SS acceptance stamp to the reverse of the chains. Attached to the grip is an original but worn officers dress portepee / knot. Some light denting to the bottom chape. Double edged blade with motto ‘Meine Ehre heist Treue’ and the reverse has a two line engraved dedication, ‘In Kameradschaft Stab R.3 u Führer d Stürme’. The blade measures 22cms, overall 37cms. Some wear to the blade and exterior fittings but generally a good untouched example with an original engraved dedication to the blade.
Rare Third Reich NSKK Marine Officers Chained Dress Dagger, super and rare example of a later type NSKK marine leaders (NSKK-Kraftbooteinheiten) dress dagger. Brown wooden grip with aluminium eagle and enamel SA device emblem to the grip. Exterior fittings and scabbard fittings with the later high copper content finish which gives the fittings a copper effect finish. Full length hanging chains with working clip fitting. Reverse of the chains are stamped with ‘MUSTERSCHUTZ NSKK-KORPSFUHRUNG’ and RZM M5/8. The blade is a standard type with motto ‘Alles fur Deutschland’. No makers trademark to the reverse. The blade has some staining and scuffs from the scabbard runners. The blade 22cms, overall 38cms. Some light scuffs to the scabbard and general patina to the exterior of the dagger but still a good example of a very rare dress dagger.

Third Reich Reichsarbeitsdienst (RAD) Labour Service Officers Dress Dagger by Paul Weyersberg & Co, Solingen, good untouched example of a RAD officers dress dagger with two piece white grips, much of the original finish remaining to the eagle head and cross guard with RAD emblem to the centre. Some light areas of plating lifting to the rear of the cross guard. Housed in the original scabbard with the two hanging mounts fixed. Standard type blade with motto ‘Arbeit adelt’ and makers trade mark to the reverse. Overall a good example with nice patina to the fittings. Blade 26cms, overall 40cms.

Double edged blade with engraved sailing ship, fouled anchor and foliage. WKC makers trademark to the base. Some light pitting to the tip of the blade. The blade measures 24 ½ cms, overall 41 ½ cms.
Rare Third Reich Police Officers Sword with Presentation Etched Blade, fine untouched example of a standard Police officers sword with early copper Police eagle emblem to the grip, original wire binding to the grip. Some surface rusting to the guard and top pommel. Housed in the original scabbard with single hanging ring. Straight polished blade with fine quality etched panels to the obverse and reverse. Engraved initials of the original owner and dedication ‘Gewidmet von Deinen Söhnen Heinz u. Alfred zur Beförderung im Kriegsjahr 1941‘. (Dedicated by your sons Heinz and Alfred for promotion in the war year 1941). Spine etched with foliage and the reverse of the blade also etched with foliage pattern. Some light wear to the blade but generally good condition. The blade measures 84cms, overall 103 ½ cms.

Plain double edged blade with makers trademark to the base. Some light surface wear to the blade. The blade measures 25 ½ cms, overall 40cms.
Rare Unit Marked 1st Pattern SA (Sturmabteilung) Marine Dagger by Malsch & Ambronn, Steinbach, being a good example with much of the original blackened finish to the grip, original eagle and enamel SA device. The lower cross guard and the top scabbard mount are stamped ‘Mar. Br. 4 E. SCHULZ 9099’. Blackened anodised scabbard which has an original three piece leather hanger. Good condition double edged blade with the motto ‘Alles fur Deutschland’ which retains much of the original blackened finish. Makers trademark to the reverse of the blade. Some light pitting but generally a good condition blade. The blade measures 22cms, overall 37cms. Overall this is a very good example of a rare and desirable 1st pattern marine SA dagger, the later patterns having the gilded fittings.
