Some wear to interior, with replacement leather. One drawer doesn't quite sit in perfectly. Interior slide functional. The central sprung freize drawer action doesn't currently work perfectly, however generally all drawers open and close as they should. Tarnish and discolouration to ormolu. During his time in New Guinea, Mr Eddowes amassed a substantial collection of Gulf Art.Agiba are the most important sacred objects to the Kerewa people. Displaying the human skulls of ancestors or victims, the racks were kept in houses to honour the spirits ('imunu') of the dead. The skulls were suspended on vertical hooks and tied on to the rack using loops of rattan or cane.Condition ReportGeneral light knocks and surface wear commensurate with age and use. Three pairs of gold silk curtains,of recent manufacture, each with a triple pinch pleated edge, lined and interlined,each length approximately 175cm wide268cm long (6)Condition ReportThe colour is a very pale gold/yellow/cream colour, see photo next to white card for comparison. Each length approximately 175cm wide x 268cm long. Together with a selection of swags and drapery (2 x pairs of borders, 5 x larger swags, 3 x smaller swags), the various sizes don't match up to create a set for each drop and the curtains have been in storage and never seen in situ, it's therefore not clear which parts belong to each curtain exactly. There are light signs of wear and marks but overall in very good condition and no unpleasant smell. They are lined, interlined and weighted, and although they have not been tested the lining is very thick and most likely blackout.
