STOT21stCplanB Lock Him up And Throw Away The Key Screen print on art paper Limited edition numbered 10/50 With STOT21stCplanB official stamp Measures approx. 54cm x 48cm (21" x 19") STOT21stCplanB (sometimes pronounced STOT twenty one with a silent ‘stCplanB’) started out as a zero-ambition noise/alt-country rock band, releasing the nihilistic CDR only LP Satan’s Rat Trap and the Mouse that Wound Up Dead (2004) and the flood/love/disaster themed mini-LP Up To Yer Neck In It (2005), before turning attentions towards visual art disruption. Describing themselves as Neo-Nothingist Anartists, three years of intense creativity followed, exploring and dealing with notions of “the puerile”, where the duo worked in a multiplicity of mediums from photo-montage, printmaking, painting, to political campaigning, crockery and making fake Banksy's under the name Not Banksy. In 2008, collaborators THE AQUARIUM L-13 (predecessor to the L-13 Light Industrial Workshop) hosted a fundraising event for Ken Livingstone’s mayoral campaign. STOT21stCplanB declared they would stand against him and put forward their own candidate known only as THE ASSISTANT. Despite designing some fantastic campaign posters they failed to get to the first stage of the elections and in bitter disappointment declared semi-retirement at the end of 2008. The next 13 years were spent mostly painting landscapes and religious scenes of violence under the name Harry Adams, emerging occasionally for one-off projects, eventually succumbing to popular demand and re-activating the Not Banksy project in 2018. Making and selling Not Banksy's kept them very busy for several more years, culminating in the publication a memoir: The Not Banksy Book: Lying, Cheating, Stealing and the Death of Art Vol 13, L-13 Press 2021 (aka The Lob-a-Knob Book).
Dale DvNM Collins (previously known as Vermin) (British b. 1974) Unknown, 2011 Oil on canvas painting Signed in black marker pen verso Measures approx. 90cm x 90 cm (35" x 35") Dale Collins was born in a Bristol postcode from a Peasedown St John council estate 7 miles to the south of historic Bath. It was here he first saw graffiti on the garage blocks at the age of 10, in 1984 and then started graffiti at the age of 13. Dale's work originally came from his experiences of a challenging environment and in his work he openly expressed his fears and explored his battles - both with himself and the world around him - under the telling moniker of Vermin his work was beginning to get recognised but was halted by being sectioned under the Mental Health Act in 1999. Stepping out into the light as Dale DvNM Collins, Vermin still retained from his previous incarnation, Dale's spiked, awkward letterforms and harsh messages about mental illness and how it is treated subsided into the deeply beautiful textured surfaces of contemporary abstract bodies of work. The energy is still there, but it has a new-found purpose and focus. This lot is also sold subject to Artists Resale Rights, details of which can be found in our Terms and Conditions.
Mike Bernard (British, b. 1957) Orange Rooftops, Cornwall, Fishing village Mixed media on paper Signed lower right Framed & glazed Measure approx. 47cm x 76cm (18.5" x 30") Mike Bernard was born in Kent in 1957. He trained at the West Surrey College of Art & Design, Farnham, followed by postgraduate studies at the Royal Academy Schools. Since then he has exhibited widely in London and the provinces. The artist was elected a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour in 1997. He moved to Devon in 2008 where he has been inspired by the amazing light. Mike Bernard enjoys experimenting with media and techniques, often using mixed media incorporating collage and acrylics. Mike has used paper collage for several years and has developed a highly original and appealing style of his own. As a base to his paintings it has allowed him to create abstract structures that in turn develop into those “happy accidents” which come about from time to time. Random textures, colours and shapes suddenly fall into place. This method allows picture to evolve their own personality as they progress, which avoids them becoming over-representational. This lot is also sold subject to Artists Resale Rights, details of which can be found in our Terms and Conditions.

Henderson Cisz (Brazil, b. 1960) When We Were Married Oil on canvas Signed and titled by artist Framed Measures approx. 89cm x 89cm (35" x 35") Henderson Cisz's (Brazilian, b1960) paintings capture the energy and movement of city life, often featuring bustling streets, cityscapes, and iconic landmarks. His style is characterized by a blend of impressionism and expressionism, with loose brushstrokes and bold colors that convey the vibrancy and liveliness of the scenes he depicts. Cisz's work is also defined by his use of light and shadow, with dramatic contrasts creating a sense of depth and atmosphere in his compositions. He often employs a high vantage point, giving his viewers a bird's-eye view of the city below, and frequently incorporates reflections and water elements into his paintings. Henderson Cisz's work is a celebration of the urban landscape, capturing the beauty and excitement of the city through his vibrant and dynamic paintings.
