Cornish Tin Mining.- Laws of the Stannaries of Cornwall, made at the Convocation or Parliament of Tinners, at Truro, Sept. 13, Anno 27 Geo.II, first edition, some light browning, a few pencil or crayon markings to margins, embossed stamp "Wootton Fitzpaine, Charmouth" to front free endpaper, contemporary sprinkled calf, gilt, rubbed, upper cover scored, lower stained, [Goldsmiths' 8776; Higgs 433; Kress 5279], 8vo, printed by Order of the Convocation, 1753.⁂ Codification of all the laws regulating the tin mining industry in Cornwall, passed by the Stannary Parliament at its final sitting in Truro in 1752. Up to this time the Stannary Parliament and Stannary Courts had full legislative authority over the enormously important tin mining industry and all connected with it. Although technically the Parliament still exists, in practice legal authority then transferred to Westminster.
England.- Picturesque Representations of the Dress and Manners of the English, 50 hand-coloured aquatint plates, some light toning and occasional spotting, contemporary russia with elaborate gilt border, spine gilt in compartments, small loss to foot, joints cracked but holding, [Tooley 374], 8vo, 1814.
Mathematics.- Simson (Robert) Sectionum conicarum libri V, first edition, woodcut ornaments, 36 folding engraved plates, a few slightly creased at edge, some light foxing, engraved bookplate of the Earls of Leven, Balgonie Castle, Fife to verso of title and contemporary ink inscription "Balgonie 1737" at head, contemporary panelled calf, rubbed, light stains to upper cover, 4to, Edinburgh, T. & W.Ruddiman, 1735.⁂ Simson was an influential teacher who devoted his life to the restoration of the lost works of the Greek geometers, his 1756 edition of Euclid being the basis of every subsequent edition. Appointed to the chair of mathematics at Glasgow University in 1711 his students included Colin Maclaurin, Mathew Stewart, and William Trail.
NO RESERVE Shakespeare.- Boydell (John, publisher).- Plan of the Shakespeare lottery, bifolium, light water-staining to lower margins, a few stitch holes to inner margins, some creasing, 8vo, 1804.⁂ With the outbreak of the French Revolutionary Wars in 1792 Boydell's lucrative foreign trade routes were cut off. Consequently, he was forced to sell his Shakespeare Gallery by lottery, as outlined here.

Sigaud gave public lectures on electricity which became very popular amongst the leisured classes in Paris.

(22 x 15 1/2 in), sheet 690 x 505 mm. (27 1/4 x 19 7/8 in), full margins, light even browning to the sheet, minor spotting and surface dirt, some small nicks and tears in margins, handling creases, bears [?]collector's initials 'P.B.' lower right [not in Lugt], [circa 1694].Literature:Hollstein 103 ⁂ Scarce. Handcrafted Sterling Silver Rainbow Moonstone Solitaire Pendant, large oval moonstone with blue adularescence, the inner light which shines from the stone, set in a decorative openwork pendant. Stamped 925, 2.6" long. Together with a pair of Hand Crafted Sterling Silver Keshi Pearl and Sky Blue Topaz earrings, white freshwater Keshi pearl drops with a round cut topaz above, with shepherd's hook fittings, each earring marked 925.
