MARC BRIERLEY - WELCOME TO THE CITADEL LP (ORIGINAL UK PRESSING - CBS S 63478). The always hard to source 1968 album from Marc Brierley, this the original UK pressing on CBS (S 63478). The record is in VG+ condition. There are light hairline markings to both playing sides, though these never extend deeper with playback producing no problems. The sleeve is in extremely well presented Ex+ condition with just a couple of very light and minor scuff markings.

Los 13

DIMMU BORGIR - STORMBLAST LP (ORIGINAL UK PURPLE VINYL PRESSING LP - CACOPHONOUS RECORDS NIHIL 12LP). The bone crunching original UK (purple vinyl) release of the 1998 LP Stormblåst from Norwegian Black Metal legends Dimmu Borgir. The record is in Ex condition. A nice clean copy (audio is excellent throughout), there are some light 'scuff' markings on side 2 - however this could possibly be part of the pressing as they almost look like a 'marbled' white effect. With Ex+ condition printed inner, no poster. The sleeve is in Ex+ condition with some very slight wear to the corners.

Los 14

LED ZEPPELIN - LED ZEPPELIN 'I' (1ST UK PRESSING LP - ATLANTIC 588171 - UNCORRECTED MATRIX/TURQUOISE). Well presented 1st UK pressing of the hugely influential debut from Led Zep. Issued on Atlantic (588171) with uncorrected matrix: 588171 A//1 1 2 4 & 588171 B//1 1 'inverted' 2 4. The record is in VG condition. A solid example, there are some surface/hairline markings to the playing sides. Not normally of a heavier nature, there is a light scratch at the start of track B2, this does not cause any real disturbance (no skips/jumps) to playback. The sleeve (original turquoise lettering, grey stripe) is in Ex condition. A top example, there is only rather minor laminate wear to the fully laminated sleeve. Lovely clean spine with very little edgewear. Solid example.

Los 15

LED ZEPPELIN - II (1ST UK PRESSING LP - ATLANTIC 588198). Very neat original UK pressing of Zep's classic 2nd 1969 LP (Atlantic 588198). With 'Livin' Lovin' Wreck credit with matrix/runout: 588198 A ? 2 [ ] 7 & 588198 B ? 2 [ ]. The record is in VG+ condition - with clean playing surfaces and labels, there are a couple of light and minor surface markings. The sleeve is in VG+ condition showing some light ringwear on the reverse and a small paper tear on the front.

Los 17

DR STRANGELY STRANGE - HEAVY PETTING LP (ORIGINAL UK PRESSING - VERTIGO 6360 009). Lovely original UK pressing of the 1970 LP from Dr. Strangely Strange (Vertigo swirl 6360 009). The record is in Ex+ condition - extremely clean indeed, there are just a couple of very minor, faint and wispy paper markings. Complete with original British patent swirl inner. The elaborate fold-out sleeve is in VG+ condition. A very neat example of this always tricky to find clean cover, there is a small paper tear on the top right (front) and one very light tear on the right 'fold-out' section.

Los 31

THE KINKS - ARE THE VILLAGE GREEN PRESERVATION SOCIETY LP (ORIGINAL UK MONO PRESSING - PYE NPL 18233). Very well presented original UK mono copy of the seminal 1968 album (Pye NPL 18223). The record is in Ex condition with just a few light and minor surface markings none of which are ever of a heavier nature. Clean labels, there are some spindle markings. The fully laminated sleeve is in very well kept VG_ condition. There is some minor 'bubbling' to a small section of the laminate on the front with a very small paper tear in the middle top section of the inside gatefold (always hard to avoid given the reverse opening nature of it).

Los 32

SAM GOPAL - ESCALATOR LP (ORIGINAL UK PRESSING - STABLE SLE 8001). Monstrously hard to find original UK pressing of the rather excellent 1969 LP from Sam Gopal (members later going on to find success with Hawkwind and Motörhead). The record is in Ex condition - a very clean example, there are just some light and minor surface markings, none of which are ever of a heavier nature. With great clean labels. The sleeve is in well presented VG+ condition. Looking nice and clean (always tricky with the textured nature of it), there is shelfwear noted, though no rips/tears.

Los 33

JAKLIN - JAKLIN LP (ORIGINAL UK PRESSING - STABLE SLE 8003). The electrifying 1969 LP from (Ferdinand) Jaklin - this the original UK pressing on Stable Records (SLE 8003). The record is in neat VG+ condition showing some light surface/hairline markings - these never heavier in nature with absolutely no scratches to mention. Lovely clean labels. The sleeve is in solid VG condition. A neat example, there is some bubbling to some of the laminate on the front, what looks to be 'Tipex' on the top left section (front) and a small tear on the middle section of the spine - this sleeve has a very 'thin' spine and as such wear of this kind is always hard to avoid...

Los 34

INTENSITY - TURN-ABOUT-INSIDE-OUT PLASTIC COATED HUMAN LP (EDEN LP 68). Extremely few on the ground underground Acid Folk/Psych rarity from the tiny label that brought us Mourning Phase (EDEN LP 68). The record is in fine and glossy Ex condition with just a few rather light, minor and wispy hairline markings. Complete with original insert in Ex+ condition. Housed with original pasted white sleeve in VG+ condition.

Los 35

UNKNOWN ARTIST - EDEN RECORDS LP (EDEN LP 36). Fascinating undocumented LP released by Eden Records (Mourning Phase, Warrior, 7 Folk, Intensity) - this album from an unknown band which could be described as a underground monster Acid Folk rarity! What is known about the band is that they were led by Graham Ash with songwriting credits also to Al Wilson, Kiren Grimm and Robert Sanderson. The record was 'produced by Roundabout Music', possibly the name of the band. The record is in VG+ condition showing some light surface markings which are never heavier - the album playing through very well (the sound quality is actually very good considering the nature of the recording!). Machine stamped matrix: EDEN LP 36 A & EDEN LP 36 B. Released in a 'generic' white sleeve which is pasted with 2 members of the band on the front with 6 members on the reverse. With an insert detailing the track listing and credits. A real 'rural basement outsider'' feeling to the album, the opening track 'Things To Remember' is led by a solo male voice with electric guitar, both complementing each other rather beautifully. Throughout, there are some really georgeous, accomplished solos with haunting introspection in places including a few instrumental tracks. To cap it all, there is a very much Psyhedelic ending with the track 'Roundabout Buggerabout' with the band experimenting with a more electronic sound (phasing in an out).

Los 36

HOLE IN THE WALL - HOLE IN THE WALL LP (ORIGINAL NORWAY PRESSING - SONET SLP-1420). Psych/Folk masterpiece from the Norwegian outfit, this the original pressing on Sonet from 1972 (SLP-1420). Los 37

DOGFEET - DOGFEET LP (ORIGINAL UK PRESSING - REFLECTION REF L8). Extremely hard to find killer only album from the UK outfit, this the original copy on Reflection (REF L8). The record is in VG condition. A solid example, there are surface/hairline markings to both sides with 1 small scratch near the beginning of A3 which produces a couple of light clicks/pops though no skips at all. The sleeve is in VG+ condition. A nice example with no rips or tears, there is some light edge/shelfwear, a little discolouration with a few light creases.

Los 38

THE DOG THAT BIT PEOPLE - THE DOG THAT BIT PEOPLE LP (ORIGINAL UK PRESSING - PARLOPHONE PCS 7125). One of the trickiest to trace Parlophone LPs (from any period) is this eponymous album from the progressive Brummies. The record is in VG condition. There are a number of surface/hairline markings to the playing sides, these typically not of a heavier nature. There is a light scratch on track A2 that does cause a small skip on our system. The sleeve is in VG condition. A nice example with no rips or tears, there are initials written in pen (small) on the front and reverse with 4 'line' stain markings on the reverse.

Los 39

PACIFIC SOUND - FORGET YOUR DREAM! (ORIGINAL SWISS PRESSING - SPLENDID RECORDS SLP 50 104). Original Swiss monster here from Pacific Sound with their fiendishly hard to find 1972 LP - this the original Swiss pressing on Splendid Records (SLP 50.104). The record is in VG condition. The record (first pressing, 'The Gramophone Co. ltd text') is in Ex+ condition showing just a couple of extremely fine, faint and wispy markings running with the groove. The laminated gatefold sleeve (original printing '6911') showing some light shelfwear and a little ringwear on the reverse.

Los 47

THE HOBBIT - FIRST AND LAST LP (DEROY - DER 709). Immeasurably scarce original Deroy Sound Service issued LP of The Hobbit's First And Last album (DER 709). The record is in G+ (visual)/VG (playing) condition. There are surface markings and some scuffs to both sides with one or two light scratches. Playback is as follows: Side 1 with surface noise, largely noted in the quieter sections. Still a very enjoyable listen with no skips or jumps. Side 2 has similar surface noise, again more apparent in the quieter sections, once again this is never excessive with no skips or jumps. Side 1 label has some light 'bubbling'. The sleeve is in G+ condition. Intact, there is some general ring/edgewear, this is never too serious. On the reverse, there are signs of water damage on the middle to upper left hand section and this has left some light staining. Still a very enjoyable copy with a particular favourite of ours being the Joni Mitchell cover 'Both Sides Now' which is very much in the style of The Velvet Underground's Femme Fatale... Very cool stuff on Deroy, which collectors' are surely aware of that their releases (including this one) were limited to 99 copies.

Los 48

Both playing sides retaining their glossy nature, there are some light and minor surface markings that never extend any deeper whatsoever. Clean labels showing some spindle markings. A very well presented example showing only slight laminate wear, there are very light remnants of an old sticker (bottom left of the front) and a little light 'peeling' to the top left (reverse) section.

BEE GEES - UNRELEASED ACETATE LP - 'THE BEE GEES FIRST' SESSION - 9 TRACK SAMPLER (1967 IBC STUDIOS). Incredible to uncover 1967 demo acetate LP from the Bee Gees. Recorded at I.B.C. studios in March 1967, many of the songs would go on to feature on the band's third studio album 'The Bee Gees First'. All songs on the record are effectively demos and are all different to the final 'studio' recordings. The tracks were recorded in the very early sessions (likely dating from 7th to 13th March) - the additional orchestration was only added later on. The track listing is as follows: (Side 1) - Red Chair Fade Away, Turn Of The Century, House Of Lords, Mr Waller's Wailing Wall, I Close My Eyes, One Minute Woman and All Around My Clock, (Side 2) I've Got To Learn and Cucumber Castle. The acetate LP is graded as G. There are many surface marks to both sides with some light scratches too. The whole recording can be listened to and enjoyed with surface noise typically of a moderate level with occasionally a couple of small skips. A very special listen throughout, you are instantly taken back at the stripped back nature of the tracks - for us most notable on the track 'House Of Lords'; this track only released much later and remastered, this original version is without strings and instead at a higher tempo with semi-acoustic guitar backing, stylistically a complete 'Mod dancer!' A true piece of history. Consigned by Philip Dennys who has had an illustrious career in writing and arranging; a letter of provenance can be provided. More information on these 1967 sessions can be found here: http://www.columbia.edu/~brennan/bee gees/67.html.
