Japanese Plant Catalogue. Catalogue of Japanese Plants, Bulbs and Seeds, Yokohama: L. Boehmer & Co., [1903], decorative colour woodblock illustrations printed by T. Hasegawa of Tokio, original pictorial boards with cloth spine strip, spotted and light wear, 4to Louis Boehmer, was a German citizen who migrated to America in around 1866, working as a gardener in Rochester, New York. In 1872 he moved to Japan and became head of a government-owned American run farming operation. After the breakup of the farm he established his own nursery in 1882, specializing in exporting Japanese plants and bonsai to Europe, the United States and Australia. In 1890 Boehmer sold his nursery to his partner Albert Unger. (1)

Tear in back left shoulder, one pocket flap detached one end. One light brown cape approx. 41 cm. Top of inner shoulders - some losses of colour to lining and pulls in fabric. Stole, approx. 153 cm. Straight cut, unshaped, fur losses and still loosing fur. Fur beret: head hole approx. 16 cm. Tear in top, near fur bobble: Another fur stole, two bodies joined together with back legs and tail at each end, approx. 128 cm end to end. Reverse with 1½ inches velvet tape band stitching to each side, a bit untidy. Detached fur collar. Fur jacket, white, approx. 56 cm armpit to armpit. Lining with some heavy staining and discolouration. No major fur loss but grubby.

A Liberty & Co Tudric pewter desk clock, of circular easel form, with embossed foliate decoration, stamped 0986, 13 cm high See illustration Condition report Report by RB In an original and market fresh condition, approx. 110 years old, the dial looks to be made of paper, is slightly warped, worn and cracked, the steel hands have light traces of surface rust, the bezel and back case of the movement are made of steel and have slight surface rust, the pewter mask has possibly a small area of loss to about 9 o'clock which you may or may not be able to see as you look straight at it, stamped made in England, Tudric, 0986 with a trademark beneath, which appears to be two crossed flowers with writing below which I cannot read, ticks very slowly with the flick of a wrist. One of the handles on the wardrobe is also loose, and the frame which supports the mirror on the dressing table is also loose, otherwise condition is generally good and the suite appears to be complete with all handles present. From a private client, who is moving house. Overall in good and original condition, with light use, in a pretty much original condition. The dressing table and the chest both have Heal's ivorine plaques, the two door wardrobe unmarked. Both doors detached from the wardrobe (screws missing). No sign of any woodworm, all good and rigid

In all probability purchased from Liberty's, as the owner bought several pieces from them over the years and the also worked for them. No keys, and the top left hand (fall front) section is locked and we are unable to look inside to see if it is fitted for a secretaire or blank, general wear and tear commensurate with age, all handles and escutcheon plates match and are probably original. Would benefit possibly from a light clean/waxing
A pair of walnut bow front bedside cupboards, 38 cm wide, and a 19th century mahogany pembroke table (3) Condition report Report by GH In terms of age these are 20th century, probably 1930s or '40s. Height - 77.5 cm Depth - 40.5 cm In terms of condition, one of the cabinets has some water staining to the varnish on the top surface, which has slightly damaged the finish, but this is localised, otherwise good with one of the cupboard doors with some scratches and otherwise light knocks, scratches and chips commensurate with use.
Chinese porcelain underglazed blue decorated miniature baluster teapot with wooden cover, a yellow glazed open candle light holder in the shape of a garden seat, a fish decorated porcelain stand and a small gilded goblet.
