Generally the upholstery is worn but complete. There is a scratch across the lower back panel. Splash marks and general dirt throughout. Edge of one armrest and lower edges of seat cushion rubbed. Wool stitching across the zip of the upper back cushion. There are light scratches and some grubby marks to the back veneered panels. Chip to leading edge of chair seat, and other minor chips to the plywood. Leather is still supple.Ottoman: one button missing to the leather upholstery, otherwise condition slightly grubby but good.

A pair of handmade stitched brown two piece leather snow goggles used by F E C Davies aboard the RYS Terra Nova:, rectangular cut eye pieces with amber coloured lenses, signed in ink to the front of the left hand goggle 'F E Davies', both goggles initialled to the reverse 'FED', 18cm. wide.*Notes- Photokeratitis (Snow Blindness) is caused by excessive exposure to UV light from direct and indirect sunlight reflected from snow or ice. Davies was not a fan of wearing snow goggles and recalls being met by Lieutenant Pennell at Cape Evans who handed him his pair saying 'There are lots of navigators in the expedition but only one carpenter' (1)References;(1) Davies, F, E. The car has been fully restored and has a Heritage Certificate advising the date of dispatch as 31 January 1969 to a dealership 'Stewart & Arden Ltd, Acton'. The vehicle was last MOT’d on 24 April 2015 covering only 15 miles in the interim.
