EDWARD, JOHN & WILLIAM BARNARD; an early Victorian hallmarked silver twin handled bowl with gilt washed interior and engraved scroll decoration, centred with the initial H to one side, London 1846, width 21.5cm, approx. 10.17ozt/316.5g.Additional InformationGood solid gauge, no evidence of removal of any inscription to the other cartouche. Some toning and tarnishing throughout and light surface scratches, good clear hallmarks.
ROYAL IRISH SILVER LTD; a hallmarked silver wine taster, with shaped handle, Dublin 1968, the handle with maker's mark for ‘SAO’ and with modern hallmarks, weight approx 4.5ozt/149g, length 13cm.Additional InformationSome light surface scratches – mostly to the underside of the base. Clear hallmarks, overall ok. The Hallmarks on the handle and the bowl do not match suggesting that the handle is a later addition.
A 19th century French Palais Royale style satinwood and cut steel mounted musical sewing box, the box with a mother of pearl inlaid oval panel and escutcheon and decorated with anthemion motifs, scrolls and swags, the interior with a central tray fitted with mother of pearl accessories comprising needle case, turned case with steel hook to the interior, steel pointed prick, scissors carved as two swans, shaped mother of pearl tool enclosing two flexible steel blades, quill, thimble, needle, two cotton winders with two others and a folding knife, flanked on either side by two steel sewing clamps within mirrored compartments, the back row inset with two embroidered pin cushions and two mirrored panels, one painted with a dog carrying a cherub in a basket, the other with a cherub in a manger, the underside of the lid with a mirror and floral paper border, the underside of the tray fitted with a small music box, on brass ball feet, height approx 10.5cm, width 27cm, depth 19cm.Additional InformationBoth side handles are lacking. There is a chip to the wood at the back right corner of the lid. Some old hair line cracks to the lid. The front left corner of the lid knocked. A few other small knocks at the back edge. The mirror to the underside of the lid has some spotting and age wear. There is spotting to all of the small mirrors in the fitted tray – some more so than others. The back right mirror is broken in four areas and with a small chip. The steel clamps with some light tarnishing / rusting. The needle case is lacking two of the Jewels to the lid and one to the base section. The turned case enclosing the steel hook lacking all of the jewel detailing to the bottom section and five to the upper section. The steel prick with surface loss to the gilt flower on the handle. Scissors lacking six jewels. The small case enclosing the two blades is lacking four jewels. Feather handle to quill lacking five jewels. The mother of pearl needle is lacking the tip. One of the wool winders lacking two jewels. At the front of the tray there is an aperture for a scent flask, this is lacking and the folding knife is a replacement. The two mother of pearl circular winders to the right and left corners of the tray may not be original. There are losses and knocks to the gilt paper of the tray. With mechanism key and lock key. The musical box is over wound and does not play.
A 19th century French Palais Royale gilt metal and enamel jewellery casket, of square form, the exterior inlaid with geometric bands and floral motifs on winged grotesque beast legs and claw and ball feet, the interior with a cushioned silk lining to the underside of the lid and the base, height 10cm, width 17.5cm.Additional InformationThe lid closes but perhaps ever so slightly off sync with the base, when the lid is closed there is slight gap between the lid and the side on the right hand side, the gilt metal band running around the edge of the lid is lacking four pins and is loose at the back right edge, gilt metal surface with general light age wear, there are losses to the enamel on the lid particularly to the red and blue in the central section and to the four corners, internally the silk lining has begun to perish and is discoloured, when open the lid section is loose from the flange at the back left corner, despite fault overall appearance ok.
A C; an Elizabeth hallmarked silver novelty stamp holder modelled as Elizabeth Tower and the Palace of Westminster, London 1986, 5 x 2.9cm, and an earlier hammered envelope example, Gourdel Vales & Co, Birmingham 1905, with loop attachment, width 2.7cm (2).Additional InformationSome light general wear, slightly more pronounced to the earlier example.
A hallmarked silver cigarette case with engine turned detailing, Birmingham 1966, length 11.5cm, together with a hallmarked silver vesta case, a plated vesta case and a WWI chrome cased compass, engraved C.Haseler & Son Ltd Birmingham VI 7195 and dated 1918 (4).Additional InformationThe cigarette box with general tarnishing and some small dents. The vesta case also with some light age wear tarnishing and the lid does not close flush. The plated vesta case is worn throughout. The compass with general age wear patina to the exterior, interior with loss of definition to the arrow to the underside of the glass.
A Victorian Ashford marble inlaid slate oval inkstand, inlaid with malachite and other stones with lily of the valley and other flowers, with a glass inkwell and hinged cover, width 31cm.Additional InformationInkwell with a few light surface scratches and marks and perhaps a few small nicks around the edge of the base but essentially ok, the stand with some age wear, marks and scuffs, the circular aperture where the inkwell sits is heavily scratched.
A Victorian lacquered papier-mâché writing slope, the lid decorated with a portrait of a spaniel within a gilt and abalone shell border, height 8cm, width 27cm, depth 22.5cm. Additional InformationThe central panel with the portrait with a fine craquelure throughout, general rubbing to the gilt detailing here and there throughout consistent with age and use, sides and base also with a craquelure, the upper two corners of the lid with two old chip, the largest about 1cm, these are more so the underside than the topside, the bottom two corners also with slight chips/wear, the base panel with general scuffs and some rounding/wear to the corners, internally general light wear to the craquelure but essentially clean and bright, the velvet writing slope split along the central fold and with fraying, despite faults overall appearance ok.
WOLVERHAMPTON INTEREST; a Swan ‘Mabie Todd & Co’ gold plated fountain pen, the barrel engraved ‘Presented to Morris Christopher Esq, J.P., Mayor of Wolverhampton 1934-5', 13.5cm.Additional InformationWear to the gold plate on the end of the cap, to the clip and to the makers naming at the bottom. Pen has been used and is grubby with old ink at the nib area. Light surface patina to metal.

SAMPSON MORDAN; a Victorian ceramic egg shaped scent bottle and hallmarked silver lid, the speckled ‘egg’ body probably Macintyre and with registration number RN 20772, the silver lid London 1886, length approx 4.25cm.Additional InformationLight rubbing to the marks and some minor tarnishing to silver but generally good.
A late 18th century facetted green glass scent bottle and later stopper in the manner of James Giles, decorated throughout with flowers with gilt highlighting, the hallmarked silver lid Birmingham 1899, height approx 7cm.Additional InformationThe stopper with a chip and some small nibbles. The enamel with approx. 16l losses here and there revealing an indentation in the glass where the loss is. General rubbing and grazes to the enamel and some rubbing to the gilding. The glass with possibly two slight chips at the shoulder. The glass facets with some light scratches and grazes. There is a mark internally at the neck which appears to be a manufacturing flaw. The cover is not original but is a good fit, this has a small hole at one of the makers marks and general patina of small dents.
C.J VANDER LTD; an Elizabeth II hallmarked silver footed bowl, London 1977, together with a hallmarked silver ashtray with square form with engine detail, an easel back silver mounted photograph frame, a silver handled magnifying glass, and knife, weighable 5.85ozt/181.9g (5).Additional InformationLight ware, minor scratches and tarnishing, the ashtray is heavily rubbed and dented, there is a hole in the canvas to the top right of the photograph frame.
A Victorian gilt white metal mounted ruby glass double ended scent bottle, with hinged cover and screw cover profusely decorated with foliate motifs and each end with overlaid engraved initials 'MLC', with faceted ruby glass body, in original leather case, scent bottle length 15.5cm.Additional InformationThe metal mounts are not hallmarked, both with general light rubbing, the hinged cover with a slight knock at the widest part, the glass body with a few small pinhead size nicks and perhaps a few light surface scratches, the inside of the hinged cover glass section is discoloured, the silk lining to the interior with some discolouration and fraying, the box with general light age wear to surface.
A Victorian gilt brass and mother of pearl shell egg shaped scent bottle case, the interior enclosing two scent bottles and hinged covers and two glass stoppers on shaped alabaster base, height 15cm.Additional InformationGeneral dulling and tarnishing to the brass work throughout, some light scratches to the mother of pearl shell, small nicks and graze throughout the edge of the alabaster, a larger grazed area to one of the side panels although this is not recent, internally lightly grubby with tarnishing and small knocks to the gilt hinged covers and some small nicks to the scent bottles.

An late 19th/early 20th century staved pine butter churn of circular form, with cover, height 66cm.Additional InformationGeneral light age wear and knocks throughout consistent with use and storage, worn in areas but this adds to the patina and the rustic look, the banding around the centre is not original and has glue residue here and there, the metal band to the base is tarnished and discoloured, some old worm holes but this is not active.
A pair of late 19th/early 20th century Folk Art bisque and wood nodding figures, possibly American, modelled as a seated elderly lady and gentleman with nodding heads and painted bodies, each seated on a stick chair and ebonised circular base, and each under a glass dome and on ebonised circular base, overall height 20cm.Additional InformationEach of the glass domes with some slight little nibbles around the base edge, one with a slight imperfection in the glass and with a 7cm line mark imperfection in the glass, both of the stands are lightly grubby and with age wear fading to the velvet pads giving them a two-tone brown and red discoloured look, the seated man with some cracking in the paint and some wear around the neck, the face and head are also lightly grubby, as are the hands, the wooden chair and disc base is lightly grubby and with general light wear, the seated female figure also lightly grubby throughout and wear to both shoulders where the metal wire of the nodding head rests, clothes lightly grubby and some discolouration here and there, the chair and disc base are lightly dirty throughout and with light wear.
A Spirit of St. Louis N-X-211 flight cased stereo CD-Radio, serial number 99.28120671H, in a silver coloured case modelled to look like a travelling case, height 43cm.Additional InformationGeneral light age wear externally with some scuffs and scratches, we cannot guarantee that this item is in full working order.
A Victorian gilt metal and mother of pearl shell egg shaped scent bottle case, the sprung mechanism enclosing four faceted glass scent bottles with hinged covers, on fruiting vine scroll base and alabaster stand, height 16cm.Additional InformationThe gilt metal is generally rubbed with some tarnishing throughout, the abalone shell with a few light surface scratches, the alabaster base with circular scratches where the upper section has been allowed to rotate on it, inside a little but grubby in parts with some tarnishing to the metalware, all of the stopper hinged mounts with some knocks and wear all perhaps a little but misshapen, the glass scent bottles with general grazes and a few small nicks.
A pair of late 19th century French blue enamel and lacquered brass opera glasses, with mother of pearl detail to the end of the handle and to the eye apertures, length with arm outstretched 19.25cm.Additional InformationGeneral light rubbing and small surface blemishes to the metal here and there throughout, there are chips to the enamel at both ends of the handle and throughout the edges of the barrels, the enamel mounts to the barrels are not fixed and will rotate around and around.
A mixed group of badges including Masonic-type examples, a further enamelled silver gilt example inscribed 'Pieux Quoique Preux', a gilt metal seal fob, an Australian Commonwealth Military Forces cap badge, etc, also a single Japanese vase (af), four glass light shades and a silver topped sugar sifter.
LEVI & SALAMAN; an Edward VII hallmarked silver novelty jewellery box modelled as a demi-lune table, the hinged lid with tortoiseshell and silver inlaid swag decoration, Birmingham 1909, height 7.2cm, width 8.8cm.Additional InformationThere is a loss to the tortoiseshell, upper left section of the lid, some further light scratches, nicks and knocks throughout. The interior has been relined in red velvet.

A WWI military full length wool coat, size 5, with a military cap, two knitted green wool hats and two knitted green wool scarves, with a canvas belt and a pair of French binoculars, Lumiere and a later pair of Ellgee Cadet binoculars, each with a leather case.Additional InformationThe wool coat generally grubby and with some marks, some small moth holes and a few joints beginning to open here and there, the collar with slightly heavier wear. The cap is tired, grubby throughout, with fraying and opening of joints, the white canvas cap discoloured throughout and with some fraying. The two green woolen hats with general light wear, one of them has a repair stitched hole to the top. The canvas belt is grubby throughout, the two scarves with some moth damage and some pulling of threads, the binoculars grubby througout with wear to both of the leather cases. The French pair of binoculars with wear to the black finish throughout and some rusting, the box for these is probably not original to the binoculars, but the leather case which these are in does have a military crows foot stamp.
A George V hallmarked silver pedestal bowl embossed with harebell swags, Sheffield 1931, approx 3.5ozt/113g, height approx 9.5cm, with a Continental silver candle snuffer with textured detailing, height approx 8.25cm (2).Additional InformationThe bowl with light age wear rubbing, some light surface scratches, but generally ok, would benefit from a clean. The candle snuffer also generally discoloured to the surface and would benefit from a clean.
JOHN MOORE; a George III hallmarked silver twin handled loving cup, engraved with initials to a scrolling cartouche to the front and with further initials engraved to the reverse, raised on a spreading circular foot, London 1760, height 13cm, approx. 11.3ozt/351.9g.Additional InformationThe cartouche scroll with initials to the centre appears to have had an engraving removed and the silver filled. This is evident when viewing from the back. Light surface scratches throughout. Clear hallmarks and maker's mark to the base, Stands true.
A Chinese bronze bi-disc, with four character marks to front and two symbols to the reverse, size approx 11.5cm, together with a Chinese soapstone carving of a temple dog, height approx 22cm and a soapstone carving of a shi-shi on rectangular base (3).Additional InformationThe bi-disk generally discoloured throughout with some light knocks and general scratches. The soapstone pieces with some nicks and chips, particularly to the base and more so to the seated shi-shi on block base.

General light surface wear but a very good gauge and quality. It stands true and with minimal wear.
A collection of 19th century and later metalware to include a copper sauce pan, an iron saucepan and metal cover, a herb chopper, together with advertising cream pots and beer bottles including Welsh Hills and W Biscombe bottle, and other items including textiles.Additional InformationThe Doulton hot water bottle has two large cracks. All metalwork with age wear, patina and dulling throughout. All items with general light age wear patina.
A printed metal and composition oil lamp with clear glass chimney and pale yellow crimped shade on bronzed column base, height 81cm, four oil/parafin lamp shades (one blue af) and two further light shades.Additional InformationOne of the blue shades is cracked, further fritting, small chips, nibbles, rubbing, internal flaws, etc. The painted surface to the lamp is not original. The lamp has not been drilled at the base.
A pair of contemporary metal five light figural candelabra modelled as young Eastern boys holding the sconces aloft, height 78cm, and three contemporary uplighters for use with candles (5).Additional InformationAll pieces are modern, general surface wear, the three uplighters do require attention.
FASE; a Spanish modernist chrome and painted metal angular desk lamp with circular chrome and perspex twin light shade supported on an angled arm and circular base, moulded maker's mark to the underside, height approx 40cm.Additional InformationChrome with some light scratches at the base and also to the shade but less so. The white painted surface to the arm with some scratches and small chips throughout. Some of the chips have been painted over in a different shade. NOTE - The chrome shade is loose where it joins to the metal clasp at the top. The metal appears to have a few splits here, not clear if this needs tightening from the underside or will remain loose?Wear to the finish on the underside of the shade. We can not guarantee that this is in full working order. As an electrical item it is important to have this rewired before use.
A pair of modern black standard lamps purchased at Habitat, with black shades on outswept circular bases, height 145cm.Additional InformationSome light scratches and wear to both. One with heavier scratches to the lower part of the column. This has been blackened over so is not immediately noticeable.
BARR & STROUD; a pair of WWII naval binoculars, with yellow crow's foot, serial number 76910, cased.Additional InformationThe binoculars are approx 24.5cm when fully extended. The grips around the eye holes are lightly rubbed to the base met and have verdigris dirt in the grooves. Leather strap with general light wear to edges. Case with general age wear scuffs and Marks. Wear to the leather at the edge where the binoculars have rubbed being taken in and out. Binoculars with light wear here and there. Red grime at the adjusting pivot. Many black marks and a cloudy appearance when looking through the lens. Lens are lightly grubby - unsure of the internal condition. The leather strap / lock to the lid appears to be repaired. The lid is a lighter colour leather to the base proper.
An Indian white metal twin handled sugar bowl with rising snake head handles and decorated with figures and animals in a continuous landscape, width 15cm, approx. 7.7ozt/239.4g.Additional InformationUnmarked, slight misshaping to the foot rim and some tarnishing and toning. Light surface wear throughout.
JAEGER-LECOULTRE; a gilt brass Atmos clock with Arabic numeral and baton chapter ring, the top plate numbered 266989, in original box with booklet and guarantee, the guarantee is not numbered, height 22.5cm, width 18cm, depth 13.5cm.Additional InformationWe cannot guarantee that the clock is in full working order. The case is lightly grubby and with general light wear and a little bit of tarnishing. There is a blemish to the front left corner of the bracket and other light marks here and there and some light scratches. The case would benefit from a good clean. The box with light age wear and a couple of slight discoloured patches to the back and a couple of minor marks to the top.
A modern scratch built wooden heart shaped mantel timepiece, the heart shaped upper section supported on a rectangular base with drawer and rotating mechanical music box to the base, height 35cm.Additional InformationHeavy varnish throughout. The item does smell of cigarettes. A few light scuffs here and there but essentially OK. This was made by a private local gentleman approx. 1983.
