WILL ILLSLEY (born 1948); a collection of studio pottery vessels, bowls and vases, to include a short cylindrical vase with turned ring sides, up to tapered flared neck, impressed with potter's mark, initials 'CSA' and date 1978, height 13cm, a baluster form vase with a light green glaze and glazed decorated floral border, impressed factory mark dated 1966 and name 'Morris', height 16cm, a squat form vase in the raku manner, height 10cm, impressed date of '72, a squat form vase with a brown faded glaze, height 9cm, a squat form vase with brown and faint ring body, height 9cm, together with other unmarked studio pottery, a Ben Thomas cockerel sponge ware decorated plate and a 19th century bowl, possibly Scottish, with blue sponged decoration and an internal wide red border (10).

A Victorian inlaid burr walnut oval tilt-top loo table with central floral motif, raised on carved baluster column to four carved scrolling outswept supports to castors, 73 x 143 x 107cm. CONDITION REPORT Overall good condition showing light signs of use throughout, tack holes where sections of the edge trim has been re-attached, further signs of use throughout including scuffs, scrapes, stains, fading etc.

GRETSCH; an early 1950s 'Syncronatic' arch top guitar with violin cut-outs, length 106cm, in a Hiscox hard 'Light Flite' case. CONDITION REPORT There are no major cracks to the body of the guitar, but there are surface scratches in the varnish. The name at the top of the guitar is clear. One of the machine heads has broken off - it is broken in half, but is present. There are areas of slight rusting to the metal Gretsch sign. The ivory coloured surround to the guitar has been reglued in quite a number of places. Would benefit from some restoration, but is basically intact.

A group of vintage jewellery to include an enamel butterfly necklace. The butterfly pendant having a colourful display of enamel set on a chain necklace. Pendant marked Sterling 925 to verso. The lot also includes a faceted glass necklace, various stick pins, including blue enamel, crystal, blue paste and blue stone pins. Plus, a silver light blue enamel flower brooch, a white metal porcelain set pendant with a continental '835' silver necklace. As well as a white metal trumpet brooch and a plastic cameo pendant on a beaded gilt metal chain. Necklaces measure between 36cm to 60cm length.

The graduated nephrite necklace having polished dark green beads with black flecks and silver clasp set with two pearls. Clasp marked sterling, inner hook marked metal. Largest bead measures 7mm. The angel skin coral necklace having uniform light to mid-pink coloured beads. Spring bolt clasp marked 9ct. Beads measure approximately 6mm.

EDUARDO CHILLIDA JUANTEGUI (San Sebastian, 1924 - 2002)."Aromas", 2000.Woodcut on thick Velin paper, copy 60/120.Ed. Edouard Weiss, Paris.Signed and justified by hand.Size: 54 x 43 cm."Guided by a scent", the final sentence in the book "Aromas" by Chillida, sums up the artist's spirit when working, allowing himself to be guided by the materials, by their essence. As the sculptor himself explained it: "The form, at the beginning, is almost like an undefined aroma that imposes itself as it becomes more precise. This pre-knowledge or aroma is my guide to the unknown, the desired and the necessary". This is a woodcut from the book by Eduardo Chillida made up of five etchings, three woodcuts, two silkscreen prints with relief, together with 38 pages of text that, through graphic work, poems, reflections and philosophical quotations, both by the artist himself and by various thinkers, brings us closer to the Basque artist's thought and work through the keys that have marked his career: time, space, music, freedom, matter, light and the sea. Published on the occasion of the artist's 76th birthday. In "Aromas" Chillida the plastic artist and Chillida the writer join hands to reveal the poet, the philosopher and the profound thinker. The edition consists of 160 graphic series with the numbering; 1-120; I-IX (suite); I-IX (suite in grey Eskulan); H. C. 1-10; E. A. 1-12.Chillida began drawing at the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid, and his interest in sculpture gradually grew. It was during his years in Paris that he made his first plaster sculptures, impressed by the archaic Greek sculpture in the Louvre. He held his first sculpture exhibition in the French capital in 1950. In 1951 he returned to San Sebastián for good, and produced his first work in iron, the material he would work with for the rest of his life. Throughout his life, Chillida received numerous prizes and awards, including the Carnegie Prize, the Rembrandt Prize, the Wolf Foundation Prize for the Arts and the Prince of Asturias Prize for the Arts. He was also an academician of San Fernando, and a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, Honorary of the Royal Academy of Arts in London and of the Imperial Order of Japan, and was awarded the Grand Cross for Humanitarian Merit by the Institution of the same name in Barcelona. In addition to his Chillida-Leku Museum in Hernani, he is represented in museums and collections all over the world, such as the Guggenheim in Bilbao, the MOMA in New York, the Reina Sofía in Madrid, the Tate Gallery in London and the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin.

One was All Saints where I was born where the chip shop was and the other half was the New Cross district at the beginning of the main Manchester to Oldham Rd. The reason I did this was the streets around the chip shop at All Saints had been demolished and were just a wilderness and I needed the atmosphere so I borrowed a bit from the New Cross area.'*Artist's Resale Right may apply to this lot.Condition report: In apparently original condition. Not viewed out of glazed frame. The surface is covered with an uneven varnish layer and it is glazed which makes any reading under UV light difficult. the surface is rather mottled, however, this is probably the varnish and the uneven impasto. Well-presented and ready to hang.
