The canvas has been re-lined and professionally restored with evidence of overpainting visible under a UV light - see images. A tiny paint chip with a very slight bulge, hardly noticeable. Some cracks to the gilt frame but stable.

Sold with related research.Provenance: Purchased by the vendor's late mother-in-law in the 1950s at a Suffolk auction Further close-up images now uploaded, along with a copy of of the clients research into the picture. The canvas has been lined, rather inexpensively some years ago, areas of re-touching visible under a UV light. There are areas of paint shrinkage but on the whole the surface is stable. A slight dent to the canvas on the left of the sitters head with some very slight paint loss. A very well presented picture in basically ready to hang condition.Further images now uploaded to include the paperwork relating to the picture starting in the late 1980s to now.

Georgian garnet five stone ring with five oval mixed cut garnets in foil-backed gold collet setting, bifurcated foliate shoulders on gold shank. Ring size K½Weight 1.7 grams. Good condition commensurate with age. The is a small split on the back of one of the shoulders but doesn't appear to be damaged. No obvious repairs. The stones are all original to the ring. The garnets have light surface scratches and abrasions.
Aquamarine and diamond ring with a rectangular step cut aquamarine, measuring approximately 10.8mm x 8.4mm x 5.3mm, surrounded by a border of eighteen brilliant cut diamonds, with platinum split shoulders on 18ct yellow gold shank. Ring size P½ Good condition commensurate with age. Very light surface abrasions to the aquamarine. Diamonds are generally of good colour colour and clarity. Not hallmarked but the shank is stamped "18" and "Plat". Needs a clean. Weight 5.3 grams
