Silver mounted blue enamel glass dressing table pot, silver pencil and three vintage Parker pens Dressing table pot- overall very good condition. The enamel is very good, only a couple of light surface scratches visible when moved in the light. Very small dent on the silver rim of the lid. Hallmarked Birmingham 1939, makers mark possibly AC. The glass has a couple of scratches but overwise very good. Lid diameter 11cm.The two Parker pencils and the silver pencil all have lead and work. The fountain pen needs ink so unable to test if it works.

A REGENCY STYLE FAUX TORTOISESHELL VENEERED AND SILVER PLATED INKSTAND AND A VICTORIAN BRASS INLAID 'BOULLE' TORTOISESHELL BOX (2)Early 20th Century The undulating hinged cover with urn finial enclosing a fitted interior with twin glass ink pots, pen trays and covered recess, 20cm wide; the Boulle box with engraved with name and dated 1851, 23cm wideCondition report: The inkstand: It is more than likely that the tortoiseshell used here is faux. Upon closer inspection it is not possible to see the depth between the two contrasting light and dark patches. There is also a clear lacquer to the surface with very small bubbles. However, it is very well done to create a believable effect. Some areas are very slightly lifting at the edges, but this is quite minor. The silver-plate is worn to the exterior in areas revealing the copper base metal beneath. Some wear and oxidization in places to the interior. The glass liners to the pots fitted within the compartments are intact. The boulle box with some missing tortoiseshell and brass inlay, notably to the top right corner of the hinged cover, front right and edges, and side. All together, quite worn commensurate with age and use. The interior lined, the bottom of which is quite worn and dirty.

The main stationery box with a Romantic scene of exotic buildings and mother of pearl domed follies. Two main rubbed patches to the sides, one particularly to the left very obvious. The hinges a little loose. See extra images. Interior used and with an ink mark to the writing slope. A very light warp to the top - faint bowing. Smaller box with general wear and inky, dirty worn interior lining. The face screens with wear, rubbing and some chips and losses to the edges, as to be expected. The two with monuments, inscribed with the places names, one the Scotts Memorial and the other the Burns Monument (possibly). Both with worn away gilt decorated trees to the background. The other rectangular two with named views, one Tintern Abbey and the other Melrose Abbey. The latter with more obvious chips and losses to the mother of pearl border. The bellows with wear wear to the leather of one, with tears and losses. The other in better conditon, possibly the leather replaced. The view depicting Drayton Manor. Scuffs and scratches in areas. The design of this was originally conceived as a wall fighting with the lamp shade and light secured above - as shown in a Charles Paris catalogue. However, there is presently no indication as to how this was secured to the wall.

A NORTH EUROPEAN CARVED BOXWOOD FIGURE OF CORPUS CHRISTI (2)Probably German, 19th Century Modelled with upwards gaze, 39cm high; Together with a polychrome painted wood Corpus Christi, probably Spanish, 18th / 19th Century, 59cm highCondition report: The first Christ with missing arms, holes for where the crown should be, and a chipped foot at the bottom, with signs of a burn area to the hole (possibly from a candle, or just heavy dirt and oxidization). Some minor shrinkage cracks to the back, loss to the back of the head and a void hole to the lower back. Minor spots of a paint in areas. The second figure, could be Spanish, possibly and maybe provincial - 18th/ 19th Century. The arms glued at the joints. A light weight timber. Some chips and losses to the back. See extra images. Old holes from previous stand, or crucifix. Other chips and knocks to the extremities, such as the cloth, top of head and other areas, commensurate with use and age.

Metalwork would benefit from cleaning. When UV light is put on the portrait some small areas fluoresce, also on the metal border suggesting something may have been spilled on it ( see pic) No Obvious signs of restoration on the portrait.

The base remains solid whilst the upper half twists and must be in a screw thread. When aligned the upper section is wobbly and not sturdy. See extra images. The surface with wear and rubbing from general handling commensurate with use and some very small spots of verdi gris and general tarnishing. Gilding worn particularly towards the base. Signature to the underside. Will need rewiring. Later light fitment. This has been in the same family for sometime, possibly acquired in the 60s.
