Art Déco - - Emile-Allain Séguy. Suggestion pour Étoffes et Tapis. Mit 60 Illustrationen in Pochoir-Kolorit auf 20 Tafeln. Paris, Massin, (um 1923). Folio. 2 Bll., 20 Taf. lose in OHLwd-Mappe mit mont. DTitel (berieben, etwas lichtandig und beschabt). Seltenes Musterbuch. Tafeln teils zart berieben. Gutes und farbleuchtendes Exemplar. Art Deco - With 60 illustrations in pochoir colouring on 20 plates. 2 fol., 20 plates loose in orig. half cloth folder with mounted cover title (rubbed, somewhat light edged and scuffed). - Rare pattern book. - After completing his studies at the École des Arts décoratifs, Séguy published a series of decorative plates with stylised floral and animal motifs for textile, goldsmith and ceramic works, combining elements of both Art Nouveau and Art Deco. The intensely coloured illustrations illustrate Séguy's interest in the scientific study of nature as a source of inspiration for artistic creation. The pochoir technique, popular in France at the beginning of the 20th century, offered the ideal means of reproducing the strong and bright colours. - Paper browned at margins and partly with minimal marginal defects. Plates partly a little bit rubbed. Good and brightly coloured copy.
