Grace, on one side of a printed correspondence card from London County Cricket Club, Lawrie Park Road, Sydenham, 1st March 1903, to an unidentified correspondent. Grace states that he has written to Mr. Martin (?) and invited him to a meeting, continuing `Shall be pleased to see you at the same time as I shall then have some news`. Some light overall age wear and traces of former mounting to the verso. Hotten, briefly confirming that he will be happy to subscribe to a copy of his correspondent`s new venture. Ink signature (`Woodrow Wilson`) on a 12mo card bearing the gold embossed insignia of the President at the head. ENGLAND FOOTBALL: A rare, vintage signed 9.5 x 7.5 photograph by the complete England World Cup winning squad of 1966 and the manager and trainers, comprising Bobby Moore, Gordon Banks, George Cohen, Ray Wilson, Nobby Stiles, Jack Charlton, Alan Ball, Jimmy Greaves, Bobby Charlton, Geoff Hurst, John Connelly, Ron Springett, Peter Bonetti, Jimmy Armfield, Gerry Byrne, Martin Peters, Ron Flowers, Norman Hunter, Terry Paine, Ian Callaghan, Roger Hunt, George Eastham, Alf Ramsey (manager), Harold Shepherdson (assistant manager) and Les Cocker (coach). The image shows the squad standing and seated in three rows. All have signed the image in ink with their names alone, all of the signatures faded and most barely visible. The signatories along the light area at the head of the image (Moore, Ramsey, Greaves, Banks, Springett, Bonetti, Flowers, Hunt, Cocker & Shepherdson) are the only ones that are partially visible. Together with a small selection of related printed ephemera including Official Souvenir edition of the Hammers programme for the European Cup Winners Cup Final, R.S.C. Anderlecht v. SHARKEY JACK: (1902-1994) American Boxer, World Heavyweight Champion 1932-33. A.L.S., Jack Sharkey, two pages, 4to, Epping, New Hampshire, n.d. (`Saturday`), to Fred [Corcoran]. Sharkey forwards some signed contracts (no longer present) and continues to report on the hectic time he has had recently, describing an accident that his mother had, and also referring to fishing, the weather and his children. Together with a signed and inscribed 6 x 8 photograph of Sharkey seated in a full length pose alongside John Buckley. Signed twice by Sharkey to light areas of the image, dated 22nd August 1975 in his hand and also, by means of identification, dated New York, 1926. Sharkey has also added the name of Buckley to the image and annotated the photograph in pencil to the verso, `My manager J. Buckley and me. N.Y.` One slight rust stain caused by a paperclip at the head of the first page of the letter, just affecting a few letters of text. Some light surface creasing to the photograph. G to about VG, 2

[BOXING]: EDWARD VIII (1894-1972) King of the United Kingdom January-December 1936. Later Duke of Windsor. An interesting, original typescript of a speech given by Edward, Prince of Wales, with several holograph corrections in pencil, four pages, 8vo, n.p. (London), n.d. (March 1919). The speech was delivered by the Prince of Wales at the National Sporting Club, Covent Garden, London, following the flyweight boxing match between Jimmy Wilde and Joe Lynch on 31st March 1919. The speech is prepared with varying paragraphs, dependent on which fighter was victorious, and reads, in part (bold words representing the Prince`s holograph corrections) `Gentlemen, I have very often heard of The National Sporting Club, and I have always wanted to come, but I consider that I am extremely fortunate in paying my first visit to the Club on such a wonderful occasion, when we have seen such a fine contest. Of course we cannot help feeling pleased that the British representative won, and I congratulate Wilde most heartily on his magnificent exhibition. At the same time we welcome our opponent from the other side, and I congratulate him on the sporting way he fought. It is by meetings such as these that the Anglo-American friendship which we have welcomed during the War becomes cemented for all time.....We all know what boxing has done to develop the fighting spirit during the War and I am more than glad to hear....that we shall now have a board of control which will foster and develop the boxing of this country in the way we all want to see it. Joe Lynch (1898-1965) American Boxer. The speech was delivered at the second meeting of Wilde and Lynch, the first having taken place a few months previously on 11th December 1918. Wilde beat Lynch on a points decision in each fight.

FISCHER ROBERT: (1943-2008) American-born Icelandic World Chess Champion. Signed colour 8.5 x 6 `giant` postcard issued to commemorate the World Chess Championship Match between Robert Fischer and Boris Spaasky in Iceland, 1972. The composite image features Icelandic scenes, the American and Russian flags, a chessboard and knight as well as oval portraits of both players at the centre. Signed (`Bobby Fischer`) in blue ink with his name alone, largely across a light area of the postcard. Rare. About EX Following his success in this Chess Championship, held in Reykjavik, the American Fischer captured the World Championship from the Russian Spaasky. The match, widely publicised as a Cold War battle, attracted more worldwide interest than any other chess match, before or since. Fischer remained World Champion for three years until 1975.
COPPI FAUSTO: (1919-1960) Italian Cyclist, winner of the Tour de France 1949 & 1952. Vintage signed 7 x 9.5 photograph of Coppi in a full length pose riding his bicycle, the handlebars covered with a garland of flowers, following one of his many victorious races. Signed with his name alone in fountain pen ink to a light area at the base of the image. [MONROE MARILYN]: (1926-1962) American Actress and Sex Symbol. A light sheer mesh under-wire bra, with spaghetti straps, previously belonging to the professional wardrobe of Marilyn Monroe. Originally sold at auction by Julien`s of Hollywood in 2005 in their `Property from the Estate of Marilyn Monroe….` auction and still accompanied by their original lot label (Lot 69), as well as one from Christie`s (Lot 231) who were due to originally sell the garment in 1999. Some age wear and rust staining to the fabric caused by the deterioration of the under-wire support. A rare souvenir from one of the 20th century`s greatest screen icons. About G
MONROE MARILYN: (1926-1962) American Actress & Sex Symbol. An excellent, vintage signed and inscribed 8 x 10 photograph of the blonde actress standing in a three quarter length pose wearing a figure hugging plain off-the-shoulder dress. The image, captured by 20th Century Fox studios photographer Frank Powolny, dates from the early 1950s and was one of a series of publicity portraits for the film Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953). Signed across a clear area of the image in bold green fountain pen ink, `To Gil, Love and Kisses, Marilyn Monroe`. Very slightly neatly trimmed to the left white border and with a few extremely light, minor surface and corner creases. Some very light, minor feathering to the ink. A truly breathtaking signed photograph, VG Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953) is a film adaptation of the musical and starred Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell. Monroe appeared in the role of the gold-digging Lorelei Lee and her rendition of the song Diamonds Are a Girl`s Best Friend is considered an iconic performance of the silver screen.
BOLGER RAY: (1904-1987) American Entertainer, portrayed the Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz (1939). Signed and inscribed 10 x 8 photograph of Bolger standing in a full length pose in costume as the Scarecrow in a scene from The Wizard of Oz. Bolger is accompanied on the Yellow Brick Road alongside Judy Garland (Dorothy Gale) as Margaret Hamilton (The Wicked Witch of the West) lurks behind a tree. LAUREL STAN (1890-1965) & HARDY OLIVER (1892-1957) English and American Film Comedians. Ink signatures by both Laurel and Hardy individually on a page contained in an autograph album. Neatly affixed at the centre of the page is a colour vignette of the duo beneath which Laurel has penned the words `Thank You!`. The page features a loosely affixed colour vignette of the duo. Signed by Laurel in dark fountain pen ink, adding an inscription in his hand, and signed by Hardy with his name alone in blue ink. The album also includes thirty signatures of other entertainers, mainly Music Hall stars, including Lupino Lane, Ralph Lynn, Evelyn Laye, Florrie Forde, Bransby Williams, Tommy Handley etc. Most of the signatures are in bold pencil.
