Including officers Duke of Wellingtons West Riding regiment, officers bronze Duke of Wellingtons West Riding regiment, Victorian other ranks Northamptonshire regiment, officers bronze East Lancashire regiment, miss-matched Victorian 105th Madras Light Infantry collar badges, Victorian East Surrey regiment other ranks, Victorian East Surrey regiment officers 1882-1883, plus others. All generally good condition. (32 items)
Very Rare Original Suffragettes “Holloway Brooch” Given to Suffragettes who Took Part in the Infamous Hunger Strikes at Holloway Prison, the silver brooch is in the design of the portcullis which represents the Houses of Parliament, laid to the centre is a convicts arrow which has enamelled the three colours of the organisation (green, white and purple). Hanging from each end is a linked chain which is said to represent prison chains. Reverse has brooch fitting and is stamped “SILVER” and with makes stamp “TOYE & CO LONDON”. Brooch remains in very good condition with just some light scuffing to the enamel. This brooch was designed by Sylvia Pankhurst, it was awarded to Suffragettes who were imprisoned at Holloway Prison for militant activity with the Women’s Social and Political Union and were involved with the famous hunger strikes. These broches were first presented during a mass demonstration at the Albert Hall on 29th April 1909.
Fine Officers 1855 Pattern Shako 26th Regiment of Bengal Native (Light) Infantry, superb example of the black beaver skin covered body shako with sunken patent leather top, front and rear peaks. Superb quality officers regimental shako plate retaining nearly all of the original fire gilt wash finish. Lion head side bosses holding linked velvet backed officers chin chain. Top rosette hook and medusa head fitting to the rear. Shako is complete with its original gilt metal plume socket holder and woollen ball plume. Interior retains the original sweatband and officers style lining, this shows some service wear and the lining has come loose in places. One small crack to the patent top. Shako is housed in its original metal storage tin with brass name plaque “Capt H Blaquier”. Overall a very good example of a scarce item of headdress from the Indian Army. The 26th regiment of Bengal Native (Light) Infantry mutinied at Mean Meer in May 1857 during the Indian Mutiny. They were massacred at Ajnala 30th July - 1st August 1857, with 42 members of the regiment being blown from the guns at Lahore.
Rare Victorian 17th Lancers Foul Weather Officers Lance Cap, light weight black leather covered helmet having gilt metal skull side bosses holding velvet backed linked gilt brass chin chain. Leather covered dome fitting to represent the rosette. Interior has the leather sweatband and crimson cloth lining with tailors details to the crown of J Jones & Co, London. Very good example with much of the original gilt finish remaining to the fittings.
Edward VII East Riding of Yorkshire Imperial Yeomanry Officers Lance Cap, fine example having a black patent leather with the upper section of the mortar board top being in light blue melton cloth with gilt metal lines leading to a band of gilt metal scrolling leaves. Top of the mortar board is patent leather with gilt metal oakleaves decoration to the corners. Complete with the original officers pattern two piece helmet plate with the running fox badge of the regiment under the cipher of Edward VII. Patent leather peak with gilt metal edging. Gilt lion head side bosses which hold the velvet backed linked gilt metal chinstrap. The plume boss is in the form of a silvered Yorkshire Rose. Helmet retains the original leather sweatband and crimson lining with gilt tooled Sandilands & Son London tailors details. The helmet remains in generally very good condition.
Imperial German Prussian NCO’s Pickelhaube, leather bodied helmet shell fitted with brass Prussian eagle helmet plate (damaged), brass front trim, NCO’s pattern spike and rear trim. The spike base has had the fixing studs replaced with small brass screws. Original officers pattern cockade to one side of the shell which supports leather backed brass scaled chinstraps, some scales absent from one side. Interior with leather NCO’s style liner system. Some flaking to the leather but all fittings match in patina. Light restoration needed.
Scarce Unit Marked Luftwaffe Officers Dress Sword by SMF Solingen, fine example of an aluminium mounts officers dress sword with much of the gilt wash finish remaining to the mobile swastika in the top pommel and on the cross guard. Underside of the cross guard is engraved with unit details “1.FL. KP. Nr 26”Blue leather covered grip retaining the original aluminium wire binding. Blue leather covered scabbard with aluminium top and lower mounts. Attached to the rear of the scabbard is the original blue leather half moon hanger with aluminium fitting. Fine double edged plain blade with central fuller. SMF Solingen makers trade mark to the base of the blade. Some light surface staining to the blade but generally good condition. The blade measures 71 ½ cms, overall 92 ¼ cms. Unit markings also engrave to the top of the scabbard throat mount.
Luftwaffe 2nd Pattern Dress Dagger with Hanging Straps by Paul Weyersberg, orange celluloid grip retaining the original wire binding. Standard pattern pommel with swastika to the centre of each side. Eagle in flight cross guard clutching swastika in talons. Housed in the original scabbard with velvet backed hanging straps attached. Metal clips on the straps have oak leaves relief pattern. Plain double edged blade with Paul Weyersberg & Co Solingen makers trade mark. Blade with some light surface wear spotting. Blade 25cms, overall 42 ½ cms.
Third Reich RAD (Labour Service) Enlisted Mans Dress Dagger by Carl Eickhorn, fine example with two piece stag horn slab grips. Housed in its original steel scabbard with white metal top and lower fittings, the lower fitting having emblem of the organisation. Attached to the scabbard is an original leather other ranks pattern hanger with strap and buckle fitting. Blade is etched with motto “Arbeit adelt” and Carl Eickhorn trade mark with RADJ in triangle with Ges Gesch underneath. Some light surface staining to the blade but otherwise good condition. Blade 24 ½ cms, overall 39 ½ cms.
Third Reich Postschutz (Postal Protection) Dress Dagger by Paul Weyersburg, good example with black ebony handle having original metal organisations emblem attached. Original top pommel and stylised eagle cross guard with black enamel swastika to the centre of both sides. Housed in the original scabbard with metal chains and correct pattern clip fitting marked on the reverse DRGM. Under the cross guard is stamped 117 and DRP. Blade remains in very good condition with some of the original cross graining remaining, some light surface stains. Base of the blade has Paul Weyersberg & Co Solingen makers trade mark. Some paint loss to the scabbard but overall a good example of this scarce dress dagger.
Third Reich Forestry Association Cutlass / Dagger by F W Holler, fine example of the gilded allow forestry hanger with two piece stag horn grips having three gilt brass acorns to each side. Lower section of the hilt has NSDAP style short winged eagle with swastika. Guard with relief of oak leaves and acorns with the finial being a down turned hoof, clamshell front with relief of a grazing stag. Housed in its original leather and gilt brass mounted scabbard with short pattern leather hanging frog. Reverse of the hanger has a period initial badge “R”. Rear of the scabbard mounts have thick staple securing pin. Partially double edged blade which is etched with foliage, animals and crossed hunting rifles etc. Blade has F W Holler Solingen makers trade mark to the base. Some light staining to the blade. The blade measures 29 ½ cms, overall 43cms.

Willem I Hekking (Dutch, 1796-1862) - still-life of mixed Spring flowers with a butterfly, signed, oil on panel, 52cm x 42cm. Small loss of surface decoration towards the base visible on photograph, some light surface wear throughout most noticeable where frame meets the panel, some diagonal surface scratches, no noticeable defects under UV.
