A 1967 BSA B40 WD (RAF) registration number OPD 63E, service serial number 35 AX 64, RAF blue, believed one of only three known survivors. This extremely rare BSA has been restored by the vendor to a condition similar to which it would have been originally supplied. The BSA was stripped, and the frame and tank were powder coated and re-sprayed in the correct RAF blue. ***The replacement engine*** was fully serviced with a new clutch, Duplex chain, gaskets, wiring loom, cables, battery and sundries. The spedometer was re-built by A B Popple (£130) and new tyres fitted. The B40 is fitted with a genuine RAF full fairing, with blue flashing light, correct handlebars, extremely rare and correct indicators, genuine canvas despatch riders' panniers, and quick release rear number plate. The BSA is offered with numerous spares, workshop and spares manuals, technical manuals and sundry paperwork. This restored BSA, ***to near original specification*** now offers an excellent opportunity for both a military and motorcycle enthusiast to add a significant and rare machine to their collection. A three-quarter watercolour portrait of a child in an oval gilt frame, 6 x 4.5 cm and a black and white daguerreotype portrait of a gentleman in similar frame, both in plush leather cases and marked on outside cover 'By Appointment, Mr. Kilburn, 234 Regent Street, London'.
