The bore is in good order with no pitting or damages to the barrels. The bluing is good all over. Please see additional images added online. The bores of of the Gibbs have some pitting patches within the second half of each barrel between the muzzle and the middle of the barrel. These patches I doubt would clean out. There are no dents or bulges to the barrels. The bore dimensions at 9 inches in from the breach are .732 and .731. The action is fairly tight with only a minute amount of light seen on close inspection when the held up to a strong light source on the left hand side only. There is a small amount of wobble between action and barrels when the forend is removed but this disappears when the forend is fitted.

Thompson of Hexham 12 bore pinfire double-barrel shotgun, with 30 inch Damascus barrels engraved James Thompson Hexham, scroll engraved action with side opening lever which also places the hammers on half cock, chequered figured stock with plain escutcheon. With a period leather case bearing no maker name, scratched with owners name E. Sykes, containing cartridge magazine, cleaning equipment, screwdriver, and empty Cogswell and Harrison Coswel anti-corrosive paste.Section 58(2) Antique /obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence.Condition report: The gun is generally good with sharp features and a nice patina. The barrels have light pitting throughout the bores and look like they might have been cleaned up internally. The outsides have probably been re-browned at some point and this is showing signs of wear. The left hand tube has a couple of very light dents which can be felt more than seen. The action to barrel fit is very tight. The actions both work correctly with good strong springs. The metalwork has some very light patches of pitting but nothing deep or defacing. The stock has a pleasing patina and good figure with the occasional scratch and dent. There is some chipping to the forend where the edges of the wood meet the barrel. The end cap of the forend is missing. The case has significant signs of wear from use but good overall patina. The two ends of the lid have been replaced as have the straps. The block for which the breach end of the barrels buts up against in the case is loose and is perhaps replaced. It cannot be conclusively ascertained either way if the case is original to the gun.

Los 86

T. & W. Harrison 12 bore percussion double barrel shotgun, with 29 inch Damascus barrels, chequered stock with vacant escutcheon, scroll engraved action, fitted into a period oak case in need of repair.Section 58(2) Antique /obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence.Condition report: The gun is generally in good order with working actions and nice presentable patina. The metalwork has light overall pitting. the stock has the usual scuffs and marks from use. There is a deep scratch near the butt plate. The wood and lockplate have a recently scuff on the left-hand side where a screwdriver or tool has been forced into the case to break it open (hence the damage to the case).  I suspect this gun may have been on licence and has not been properly cleaned. A jag and then patches return with thick rust coloured greasy grim but following this work look shinny. There are a couple of shadows in the bore which are probably light pitting. Without a large amount of cleaning it cannot be guaranteed that the bores are completely free of pitting. The barrels have been rebrowned but externally look in good order. There is a strange dark coloured patch on the outside of the left tube see images uploaded. I think this could be a dent that has been lifted as there is a corresponding shadow ring to the inside of the bore in a similar area to this dark patch.

Los 478

Barnett Commando Crossbow, fitted with Tasco 4x32 scope, together with case, spare bow, and quiver of arrows. No licence required to buy this item, purchaser must be over the age of 18. Cannot be posted to a home address and can only be posted to a Registered Firearms Dealer.Condition report: The crossbow has been stored in a damp area and consequently there is some light corrosion spots to the metal work generally, this would clean up fairly easily on the steel parts but perhaps not on the brass coloured parts. There are scuffs and marks from use but no major damage that I can see. The string is frayed and whilst it will still take the tension of cocking the bow it could probably do with being replaced. The optics are clear and focused to sight through.

Los 71

Mauser G98 7.92 bolt action rifle, with 30 inch barrel, by DWM serial number 3427 (matching numbers throughout) unit marking to butt disk.UK RFD OR A FIREARMS LICENCE WITH CORRECT VARIATION .7.92, 8mm or 8x57 RIFLE REQUIRED TO BUY THIS LOT.Condition report: Action works but bore has some pitting. Rifling is still present but could do with a good clean. The Gew98 has been left in store since the 1970s and hasn’t had much attention since then. The bore is grubby and has light pitting but there is still strong rifling in there. I think with a lot of cleaning the bore would improve significantly but I don’t think it will ever be 100% perfect. The bolt and action appear to function correctly and have some polish remaining as with other parts of the gun there is light corrosion. The metalwork generally has pitting and corrosion the worst part being the butt plate. The other strange thing is the stock which has a two tone effect. From the bolt back through the stock the gun has a very dark finish whereas stock from the bolt forwards has a nice light wood typical of a Mauser in very good condition. It almost looks like the gun has been stored in a saddle holster (if such a thing existed for a Gew98!) and the butt has seen the elements and the rest of the gun has remained dry and safe. In all this will need a lot of TLC but could improve drastically from how it presents currently.

Los 23

Los 39

Enfield .650 percussion cavalry carbine, 21 inch barrel fitted with fixed sights and swivel ramrod, Tower VR crown stamped lock dated 1858, stock with arsenal stamp and fitted with saddle ring and bar.Section 58(2) Antique /obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence.Condition report: Action works correctly and holds half and full cock. The gun has had a hard working life but has a nice patina which would improve with a bit of polishing. The stock has numerous knocks and marks, there are a couple of very short splits beside the lock plate but they do not look serious. The edges of the ramrod channel are chipped and worn. The metalwork has light pitting overall.

Los 18

Colt .41 rimfire Deringer, third model, with 2.5 inch barrel marked Colt.Section 58(2) Antique /obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence. Condition report: Mainspring missing. The screw which holds the grip on is chewed up and does not engage the threads correctly on the other grip. The steel parts have light overall pitting. The bore has a lot of surface pitting which would not clean out. The rifling is still visible. The wood grips have some scuffs and marks. The brass frame shows signs of wear.

Los 70

Stahl & Berger Hamburg rifle shotgun, with 26.5 inch barrels chambered in 16 bore and 8x60R Mauser , fitted with folding leaf sight and groves for a scope mount, serial number 1623, scroll engraved action and chequered wood stock.UK RFD OR FIREARMS LICENCE WITH CORRECT VARIATION REQUIRED TO BID ON THIS LOT.Condition report: The action locks up very tightly. There is surface corrosion in places including a bad patch at the muzzle on the outside of the barrel. The bores are dirty and have light pitting but nothing deep and would clean up. There rifling is still very visible. There is a section of the stock chipped away to the underside near the triggers where the wood meets the action. This is visible from photo 5 online.

Los 2

9mm pinfire revolver, double action only, 6.25 inch barrel, six shot cylinder, Birmingham proof marks throughout, scroll engraved action with chequered bag shaped gripsSection 58(2) Antique /obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence. Los 106

BSA 12 bore side by side shotgun, serial number 46473, with 30 inch barrels choked to 3/4 and 1/4.UK RFD OR SHOTGUN LICENCE REQUIRED TO BUY THIS LOT.Condition report: Generally good presentable condition. The barrels have good bores with no pitting. Ring when tapped. The barrel to action fit is tight with no wobble. Action appears to work correctly. Non ejector. Light wear to the bluing generally and small dents and scratches to the stock from use. The gun has a nice feel about it and the chequering is crisp.

Los 97

E. M Reilly cased 12 bore side by side shotgun, serial number 16830, black powder proof only, the 30 inch Damascus barrels engraved E. M Reilly & Co. New Oxford Street London & 2 Rue Scribe Paris, the actions engraved with game birds and scrollwork bearing traces of colour case harden, the figured stock with crisp chequering inlaid with vacant escutcheon and fitted with horn and steel toe butt plate. The leather and canvas case containing cleaning rod.UK RFD OR SHOTGUN LICENCE OR RFD REQUIRED TO BID ON THIS LOT.Condition report: The Reilly 12 bore is really nice crisp condition. The actions work as they should. Barrels are very tight on the face, they ring true when tapped. The outsides have a lot of the browning worn away. The left hand barrel has the slightest dent 7.5 inches from the muzzle which cannot be seen from the inside and is only visible when strong light is cast over it looking from the muzzle end down. The insides of the bores are bright and shiny with no pitting. They measure at .734 and .736. both choked to a loose improved cylinder. The woodwork has good sharp chequering, the usual minor scratches and marks but very nice patina with no splits, chips or repairs except for the forend where there is a split to the thin wood where it meets the barrels which has been reglued.Images of the proof marks attached. They are proofed at ‘12’

Los 80

Harrison of Norwich 4 bore percussion wildfowling gun, with 41 inch Damascus barrel fitted with folding leaf backsight, with modern reproof marked 5/1 chequered pistol grip stock, scroll engraved action, fitted with under-barrel ramrod but is accompanied by a modern made loading rod.Section 58(2) Antique /obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence.Condition report: The gun has had a modern reproof and at this point has been re-browned. The action works correctly. There is light surface pitting to the parts that have not been refinished and corrosion around the nipple. The stock has been crudely repaired at the forend. It looks like it has split around the barrel keys from recoil and a patch of wood has been let in on the inside. The repairs have been covered with brown paint on the inside and outside and this could do with stripping off and redoing for the gun to look it's best. The bore has a few patches of pitting which are probably too deep to remove easily but is largely clean. One ramrod pipe has been re-attachded. I am not confident as to the ramrods originality to the gun but it is a good fit.

Los 35

Martini MkII .577/450 rifle, with 32 inch barrel, fitted with folding leaf sight and bayonet lug, unmarked action.Section 58(2) Antique /obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence.Condition report: Action works correctly. The rifle shows signs of a hard working life and there are dents and scratches to the wood. The metalwork has lost its bluing and has turned a plum / brown colour with some light pitting. The bore has strong rifling but there is some light pitting similar to the outside of the rifle. The trigger guard sling loop has been replaced.

Los 124

Persian Kabyle Snaphaunce long gun, with 44 inch 32 bore barrel, inlaid with white metal wire, ivory butt.Section 58(2) Antique /obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence. Condition report: Action will not hold full cock and is stiff so could do with some attention. The bore is smooth but has substantial pitting. The metalwork generally has light pitting and minor surface corrosion. The stock is separating/splitting around the butt plate area. There are numerous small dents but nothing else defacing. There are two small brass screws missing from the trigger guard. Small sections of silver wire are lifting in areas and there has been an attempt by a previous owner to glue these back.

These cannot be felt and can only be seen when sighting down the barrels from the muzzle with a strong light casting across them. Both barrels have light pitting ahead of the forcing cone. There are patches of deeper pitting between the middle of the barrels and the muzzle which I do not think would polish out. The barrels have been cut down and a rear sight added. The barrels are tight on the face with only the slightest gap on the right side which does not let light through. There is no wobble between barrels and action with and without the forend removed. There are some dents to the stock behind the hammers and some dents and wear to the chequering on the forend. The forend cap is detached and the original missing, a bone replacement is present. The butt stock looks like something has affected the finish as there are matt patches.

George and John Deane percussion double 8 bore shotgun, 32 inch Damascus barrels, fitted with platinum breach plugs, the top flat engraved with a gun dog's head, the named side locks engraved with gun dogs chasing game birds within scrollwork borders, chequered stock stamped with 1792 serial number, with vacant silver escutcheon, steel cap to pistol grip and pineapple finial trigger guard.Section 58(2) Antique /obsolete calibre, can be owned without a license.32 inch barrels.Condition report: The gun has a pleasing patina and the action works correctly. There are a few condition issues the main being the rib between the two barrels which is lifting slightly in two areas. The barrels have been cleaned up as the maker's address is faint. There is fine surface pitting to the metalwork generally. One bore has a patch of pitting (which I doubt will clean out) around midway through the tube, the other bore has no major pits but there is light surface pitting. The wood is generally good but there are some chips to the forend where the edges meet the metal of the barrels.
