A late Victorian leather cased ebonised and silver mounted two section baton, 'The Handy Pocket Baton', with presentation details to both the box lid and the central band 'Presented to Mr J.I.Lane by the Irlam Singing Class, March 1889', London 1888, length when screwed together 48cm.Additional InformationThe box itself is in fairly good order with just light scuffing. The silver is slightly worn in parts, where it screws together it is very slightly loose, a few scratches and scuffs to the ebonised section and surface wear. The hallmarks are still legible.

General wear, light scratches and scuffs, when wound the watch appears to be ticking but this is no guarantee that the watch is working, light scratches to the case.

Light tarnishing and surface scratches. The second watch has cracks to the dial, is missing the glass, stained to the lower portion, chips around the subsidiary seconds hand. The GWR is barely legible and heavy surface tarnishing, not working.

Clear hallmarks and maker's mark. Tarnishing and toning throughout with light surface wear.

THE GREAT FROG; an unusual silver ring set with a Victorian glass eye, size P, approx 13.5g, hallmark slightly obscured.Additional InformationThe hallmark is just slightly obscured, so impossible to read the date letter. A few surface knocks throughout and light scratches to the glass eye. No box with this ring, but basically in good order.It would be possible to re-size this ring.
IWC (INTERNATIONAL WATCH COMPANY); a rare and oversized WWII German Luftwaffe pilot's watch with indirect centre seconds and hack feature, c.1940, the black dial set with Arabic numerals with outer case inscribed to the interior 'B-UHR, Bauart:I.W.C. Werk NR:1014067, Anforderz:FL.23883' with case and movement matching numbers 1033467 and with additional number to the edge of the outer case FL23883, diameter excluding winding crown 55mm.Footnote: These watches have become known as the B-UHR style, abbreviated for Beobachtungs-Uhren or 'Observation' watch. The watch had two dial variations, this example has the standard outer minute track and large triangle at 12 o'clock, this being a Type A. The FL23883 inscription to the side of the case identifies the watch as one designed for navigation, and, as these watches were property of the Luftwaffe and not the individual pilots or navigators, they each had to return their watches after completing their service, enhancing their collectability today. The watches were fitted with extra long straps so they could be worn over a flight jacket and the oversized crown could be operated with gloves on and would be able to stop the centre seconds for precise time setting.Additional InformationPlease refer to the additional photographs for close-up details, but the watch is certainly ticking when wound. Very light surface scratches to the case and glass, but basically in good original condition. Is presented on a grey cloth strap with simple buckle.For those asking about reference numbers on the watch it really is difficult to provide more information than we did at the point of cataloguing with all reference numbers quoted along with many photographs.
PATEK PHILIPPE; an 18ct yellow gold purple enamel and diamond set fob watch with matching brooch, the watch with white enamelled dial set with Roman and Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds hand, floral decorated edge and with purple enamelled back centred with a rose cut diamond set star with seventeen stones, signed cuvette and movement numbered 131.794, the case 239.863, diameter 32mm, the brooch set with twenty rose cut diamonds with swivel bail and purple enamel decorated 'wings', width 44mm, in original Patek Philippe leather case and sold with extract from the Archives detailing date of manufacture 1905, date of sale April 23rd 1906.Footnote: A near identical watch of different colourway is in the Patek Philippe Museum in Geneva and was given to Queen Victoria.Provenance: From a private North West collection.Additional InformationPresented in excellent condition, ticks when wound and moves freely. Light scratches to the enamel and to the glass, as you would expect. Enamel is good to both the brooch and the watch. Minor surface wear to the case and presented with copy of insurance valuation for £20,000.Brooch unmarked, total weight is 40.4g
Three gold plated crown wind screw back open face pocket watches, the first by Hamilton with Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds hand and winding crown at the 'three' point, the twenty-one jewelled movement signed 'C.R. McLachlan, Winnipeg, Man and No.347606, diameter 50mm, the second by Waltham with fifteen jewel movement No.21721620, diameter 51mm, the third by Elgin with seventeen jewel movement No.20994420, diameter 45mm.Additional InformationThe Hamilton watch has an area of cracking around the number two, general surface wear and some tarnishing to the metalware, ticks when wound. The Waltham example has heavy tarnishing to the case throughout, very heavy in parts, ticks when wound, hairline crack to the dial between the eleven and twelve points with some light surface scratches to the dial. The Elgin example does not tick and has a hairline crack running from the subsidiary seconds hand to five various points in the outer dial, a couple of dents to the back of the case. All three with general surface wear throughout.
A George V hallmarked silver small twin handled trophy cup, Birmingham 1928, length 13.5cm, a similar smaller silver trophy cup, a 925 stamped hammered bowl set with turquoise coloured cabochons, a silver and velvet purse with later applied enamel decoration, and an oak card container with silver mounts inscribed 'Bridge', the two trophies and pin dish weight 5.9ozt/184g.(5).Additional InformationThe smallest trophy has a misshapen foot rim, a few surface dents and light surface scratches and is quite sprung. The larger trophy cup is in better condition with a misshapen foot rim. As detailed on the purse the enamel decoration is later, very crude and does not fit correctly. The 925 grade dish has some surface scratches to the turquoise coloured cabochons and the bridge box appears ok.
SAMUEL BOAZ LANDECK; an Edward VII hallmarked import silver model of a wheelbarrow with repousse decoration featuring a courting couple to barrow interior and foliate scrolls to exterior, Chester 1902, length 9.6cm, approx 1.1ozt/34g.Additional InformationSome knocks and misshaping, the left wheel at an angle so does not run straight or freely, further light general wear.
WALTHAM; two crown wind gold plated screw back open face pocket watches, the first with white enamel dial set with Roman numerals and Arabic twenty-four hour numerals with subsidiary seconds dial and movement inscribed 'P.J. Bartlett, Waltham, Mass, with seventeen jewelled movement No.17078190, diameter 55mm, the second with white enamel dial inscribed 'Waltham, Vanguard twenty-three jewels', with Arabic numerals and subsidiary seconds hand with twenty-three jewelled movement, No.28881020, diameter 52mm (2).Additional InformationBoth have light surface scratches to both case and glass, tarnishing around the winding crown and loop but both tick when wound, balance wheel moves freely, just light general surface wear.
HASELER BROTHERS; a cased set of four George V hallmarked silver open salts with matched silver spoons, each of circular form with blue glass liners, Chester 1920, approx 7.55ozt/234.7g. Additional InformationA couple of the marks on the salts are rubbed, the blue glass liners and very tight/snug fit, general wear, light scratches, tarnishing throughout.
