Navy Arms 12 bore percussion side by side muzzle loading shotgun, 28 inch barrels with open chokes, serial number N5080, Italian black powder proofs.UK SHOTGUN LICENCE OR RFD REQUIRED. 14.25" LOP The gun is in good general condition and does not appear to have done alot of work. A common problem we see with alot of these guns is that the fit between the barrels and the stock is not as tight as it could be. This gun has this issue and there is a copper plate fitted under the barrel wedge to try and improve the problem. There is still some light play between the two parts. The barrels ring when tapped and there are no dents visible. The bores could do with a good clean and but there is no obvious pitting or corrosion. The blacking to the barrels is in good order with only slight wear. The actions function correctly with reasonably strong springs. The stock is free from splits or repairs, there are occasional scratches and dents from use.

It does however produce a spark and we are sure it would set a charge off. The woodwork is free from splits or repairs there are some light usage marks but nothing defacing.

SECTION 2 SHOTGUN LICENCE OR RFD REQUIREDThe case measures 66cm The shotgun is in very nice presentable condition with a good finish and patina. The bore has some light shadows seen infrequently down the length, these look like traces of light pitting that has been removed. The barrel is tight on the action and there is no wobble. One storage feature is top face of the join between the barrel and action, it is very slightly distorted and looks like the gun may have received a knock here and the surfaces have been lightly tapped back into shape. See image number 4 of 21 online and zoom into the join between the top rib and the action. The blacking to the barrels is in good order with only slight wear. The action functions correctly with snap caps and has a strong spring. There is light speckling to the polished parts of the action mainly around the grip area and side of the action. The stock is free from splits or repairs, there are occasional scratches and dents from use but nothing defacing. The stock finish has been improved with some tru-oil application, this has been largely done well and is not too glassy however there are some run marks to the comb of and lower edge of the stock which could be lightly buffed out to finish the work off.The case is tired and needs some restoration. The lid corners are separating and there are some old repairs which have failed. The case handle is missing, the leather has lots of scratches, scuffs and wear. The belts are missing. The internal lining as moth damage.

Section 58(2) antique/ obsolete calibre no licence required to buy this lot, purchaser must be over the age of 18.The case measures 97cm x 22cm. The rifle is in excellent general condition. The bore is bright and shiny with a crisp rifling pattern and no signs of pitting or damage. The browning to the barrel is worn in places especially around the muzzle where a protector has been slid into place for cleaning. There is an odd scratch to the finish. The action works correctly with a strong spring. There is slight wear to the blued metal parts. The stock has one very small crack which is illustrated in images 37 - 39 online. Outside of this it only has some light dents, scratches and signs of use.The case is a well made modern replacement, it is structurally sound with no signs of damage.

Cased Hollis and Sheath percussion .577 volunteer rifle, 36 inch barrel secured by three bands and fitted with a folding ladder rear sight, engraved 'Hollis and Sheath makers to her majesty's war department' the lock with simple border line engraving and maker name, crisply chequered stock with vacant escutcheon. The oak case contains a heavy duty ramrod with brass muzzle protector, Field 70 grain cartridge tester stamped with 233 Holborn London address, G&J.W. Hawksley screwdriver, two scrapers, mainspring clamp, Sergeant's tool, nipple key with two spare nipples and hole clearing spike, leather sling, James Dixon and Sons Sheffield powder flask with leather covered body, bullet mould stamped WD for William Davies, cap tin with top hat percussion caps, oil bottle and one other tin. Section 58 (2) Antique / obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence. Buyer must be over the age of 18, age verification will be required if the lot is to be posted out.The case measures 140cm x 24cm Rifle conditionThe rifle has a nicely used and lightly worn overall look. Most of the metal has lost its finish and there are just small traces of blue scattered found in small detailed areas. The metalwork has some light-speckled pitting marks throughout. The bore is in very good order with strong rifling and only a couple of light shadows which are more likely to be cleaning residue/ dried oil than pitting. The action cocks and releases with a strong spring. The nipple unscrews. The rifle has the look of one that has been held in the past on licence and used as it is all clean and well kept without the accumulation of dirt found on a gun that has been asleep for the last 100 or more years. The stock is free from splits or cracks, there are some light dents and scratches but nothing defacing. The screw which holds the rear sight spring in place is a freshly blued replacement.Case conditionThe case has several shrinkage splits along the lid as well as some around the brass screw heads. There are lots of chips, dents and surface marks from wear and use. Whilst the case is structurally sound enough to transport the rifle around in, the corners are starting to separate and come loose. The lock escutcheon is missing as is the key, the lid does not sit down quite flush around the lock area when closed. There is a section of partition broken away from the inside of the lining as well as a wood blocks for the rifle to rest on which are now missing. The linings have small chips and in places are starting to come loose. The inside lid has a bald patch of varnish where a label once existed. The contents of the case are probably not all original as the condition of the pieces varies, with the bullet mould being very heavily pitted but other pieces only having light pitting. The sling is dry and has surface cracks and wear.On second examination, I am not 100 percent sure the case was made of this rifle. It is certainly a case for a volunteer Enfield as the fit is near perfect. The only thing that concerns me is the loop at the front of the trigger guard to retain a nipple cover. This has worn a depression into the lining of the case and is an overly snug fit. I am not sure this is an error a casemaker would have made but cannot be certain. The loop on the trigger guard could have been added or changed however.
London Armoury Company Percussion P53 .577 volunteer rifle, 39inch barrel with three groove rifling, secured by three bands, fitted a folding ladder sight stamped L.A.C., the crown VR stamped lock bearing 1863 date and L.A.Co. full stock fitted with brass furniture and stamped with London Armoury roundel, the underside of the stock fitted with a leather pouch containing an ivory T. Murcottt 68 Haymarket London rule.Ivory Submission reference PHPBRGC8 Section 58 (2) Antique / obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence. Buyer must be over the age of 18, age verification will be required if the lot is to be posted out. 140cm long The gun is in reasonable condition with a nice patina. The metalwork to the exterior of the gun has some light pitting with some wear to the bluing of the barrel. The bore is in fair order with all the rifling pattern remaining in strong profile but there are some light pitting patches throughout. The action cocks and releases with a strong spring. The stock is free from splits or cracks, there are some small dents and scratches. The wood has possibly been lightly cleaned up at some stage as the stamped cartouche is not quite as crisp as you would normally expect.
Manhattan .36 percussion revolver, 4inch sighted octagonal barrel with maker address, engraved six shot cylinder with 1859 patent stamps, serial number 50538 to barrel, frame, strap and trigger guard. Section 58 (2) Antique / obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence. Buyer must be over the age of 18, age verification will be required if the lot is to be posted out. 22cm long The revolver is in average condition with a lightly pitted overall general appearance. The action does not quite function as it should as the cylinder sometimes moves backward (anticlockwise) when the hammer is dropped, it otherwise rotates forward (clockwise) correctly when the action is cocked. The bore has some light pitting similar to the exterior of the gun. The brass grips and guard were once nickel plated but this has completely worn away leaving only a small trace of plating on the base of the grip. The trigger guard has taken a knock and is slightly out of shape from that which is should be. The screw heads all show signs of being worked and used. The wood grips have some light dents and marks but no splits or repairs.
9.3 x 74R reloading dies and components, to include a Hornady two die set and shell holder, seventy four brass cases, three part packs and one complete pack of bullets, also two MTM boxes. The sizing die appears in good condition, it has a Lee easy lock collect stuck round the screw threads which cannot be moved with finger grip only and might need mechanical aid and oil to shift it. The bullet seating die and shell case holder have been left in damp area and have some overall light surface corrosion. All threads in the die still turn and this is cosmetic and shouldn't affect the function of the die. The cases are a mix of firings and makers, the bullets appear in good order without corrosion.
James Burrow percussion 20 bore side by side shotgun, 28inch boldly patterned Damascus barrels with platinum breach plugs, the rib engraved 'James Burrow Maker 116 Fishergate Preston', underside ramrod fitted with worm, the locks with shaped hammers, engraved with scrollwork and maker name, chequered stock with vacant escutcheon, fitted with finely engraved steel furniture, the trigger guard bearing serial number 4068Section 58 (2) Antique / obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence. Buyer must be over the age of 18, age verification will be required if the lot is to be posted out.112cm long The gun is in very good general condition with a nice patina, showing minor signs of age and use. It has probably been subject to careful cleaning and restoration but this is not obvious. The bores are bright and in good order with only minor shadows of pitting in the left tube. The right barrel has had a dent lifted close to the muzzle, there light marks inside the bore which demonstrate this. The outside of the barrels have possibly been re-browned. There are five small depressions to the central rib which have the appearance of moulding imperfections if this were a lead bullet rather than impact marks. They are possibly the point of previous corrosion spots. The barrels ring when tapped. One nipple looks like a replacement that could be removed, the other looks like it has been in situation for quite some time. The actions cock and release with a strong springs. The stock is free from splits or cracks, there are some small dents and scratches but nothing defacing. The knife edge of the forend where the wood meets the barrels has some very neatly spliced in repairs, these are only noticeable when removing the barrels and looking from the inside. The trigger guard tang has some light pitting marks.
George and John Deane percussion 14 bore side by side shotgun, 32inch Damascus barrels with platinum breach plugs, the rib engraved 'George and John Deane, 30 King William Street, London Bridge', underside ramrod fitted with worm, the locks with dolphin hammers, engraved with scrollwork, gun dog and maker name, chequered stock with vacant escutcheon, fitted with finely engraved steel furniture, the trigger guard bearing serial number 527 repeated on the underside of the barrels. Buyer must be over the age of 18, age verification will be required if the lot is to be posted out.122.5cm long The gun is in good general condition. The bores are clean and free from heavy pitting, there are some light shadows that can seen. The right-hand tube has had small dents lifted at some stage and there are light marks both inside and outside that can just be seen. The actions work correctly with strong mainsprings. The stock is free from splits or repairs, there is a chip to the toe of the stock and there are occasional minor scratches and dents from use but nothing defacing.
