Committee 1866-68, 1870-1873, 1875-1878, Treasurer from 1879 to his death in 1915. He was a founder member of the Surrey Committee and President of Somerset C.C.C. from 1890. Light horizontal fold, otherwise in very good condition Bromley-Davenport, right hand bat, left arm fast bowler, played four tests for England and was one of the few players of his era to play cricket wearing glasses

Nicely signed in ink ‘Alfred Lyttelton’, the signature slightly smudged. Light folds otherwise in good condition Lyttelton was President of M.C.C. in 1898. Also played for Worcestershire C.C.C. (not first class) and represented England at football in 1877 and played for Old Etonians in the 1876 F.A. Cup Final. Lawyer & Statesman and Colonial Secretary 1903-1905. He became an M.P. in later life

Yorkshire finished runners up to Kent in the 1913 County Championship. Booth, being the leading wicket taker in 1913 with 158 dismissals, and Drake were killed in the Great War

The photograph laid down to photographer’s mount, nicely signed to the mount borders in black ink by the seventeen members of the touring party including Johnny Douglas (Captain), Toone (Manager), Fender, Hearne, Rhodes, Wilson, Woolley, Hendren, Hobbs, Makepeace, Russell, Hitch, Howell, Parkin, Waddington, Dolphin and Strudwick. The photograph measures 14.5”x11.5”, overall 20.5”x17.75”. Bumping and loss to top right corner of mount not affecting the image plus general wear to mount edges, stain over approximately half the image with light surface marks and a 1” heavy surface scratch to right hand side of image. Excellent image. Australia won the series by five tests to nil

Cricket - Richie Benaud, New South Wales & Australia 1948/49-1963/64. Australian green wool blazer, by Farmer’s of Sydney, worn by Benaud for the South African tour of Australia 1963/64 with large beautifully embroidered Australian emblem to breast pocket with the date ‘1963-64’ below, trimmed to pockets and sleeves in gold. The blazer was originally mounted, framed and glazed, light marks left to the blazer which may well be removed with cleaning. Minor damage to small part of braid otherwise in very good condition. Name ‘R. Benaud’ typed to label Richie Benaud played 63 Tests for Australia, and captained the side from 1958 until his retirement in 1964, taking 248 wickets at an average of 27.03 and scoring 2201 runs at an average of 24.45, his highest score being 122. In the 1963/64 series against the South Africans the series was tied 1-1 with three matches drawn, Benaud taking twelve wickets in the series. Previously sold by Leski Auctions of Melbourne in February 2005

Cricket - Vijay Laxman Manjrekar. Bombay, Bengal, Andhra, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra & India 1949-1968. Official Indian touring blazer worn by Manjrekar on the Indian tour of England in 1952. The blazer by Devichands of Lahore, New Delhi with raised embroidered Indian emblem and ‘England 1952’ to breast pocket and trimming to pockets and blazer edges in Indian Test colours of gold, navy and light blue. ‘Manjrekar. 1952 April’ handwritten in black ink to makers label and below a further label inscribed ‘Manjrekar’. Some minor wear otherwise in good condition Vijay Manjrekar scored almost 13,000 first class runs averaging 49.92 and in Tests he scored over 3,000 runs at an average of 39.12 with a highest score of 189 not out against England at Delhi in 1961. In 1952 he hit 1059 runs at an average of 39.22 with a highest score of 133 against England in the first Test at Headingley Previously sold as lot 68 from the collection of Sonny Ramadhin. Cricket - ‘Empire’s Cricketers’. Alfred Chevallier Tayler and George William Beldam. Fine Art Society, London 1905. The forty eight original chromolithograph plates have been bound in full leather, each print with an accompanying biography of the featured player. With the exception of a light vertical crease on the McLeod, the prints are in exceptional condition. The spine and boards are showing some wear to the extremities with a small split to the lower spine ‘Empire’s Cricketers’ was originally published in twelve parts, each containing four plates. Cricket - ‘The Match that was Given Away. Surrey: The match is of no use to me. Read the telegram & you’ll see why. Light your pipe, old boy and puff to the success of the South for if that wire had been late in reaching me i’de have used the match myself & then where would the South have been?’. The decision of the Middlesex v Surrey match on Tuesday August 31st 1920 was very open to suspicion’. Large and impressive original pen and ink caricature/ cartoon artwork by artist Amos Ramsbottom. The cartoon depicts the Surrey man (Hitch?) handing Patsy Hendren a match box with one match protruding and a telegram announcing that Lancashire had won their game, both man holding pipes. The cartoon, signed by Amos and dated 1920, measures 10.5”x15”. Mounted, framed and glazed. Excellent image. Good condition Middlesex beat Surrey by 55 runs to win the County Championship, Surrey came third. For Middlesex, Skeet and Lee both scored centuries, Stevens took six wickets in the match. For Surrey, Sandham made 167 & 68 and Fender took five wickets in the match. Lancashire beat Worcestershire by nine wickets to come second
