Born on April 28, 1442, in Rouen, France, Edward was the eldest son of Richard, Duke of York, and Cecily Neville. His father's claim to the English throne was passed to Edward after Richard was killed at the Battle of Wakefield in 1460.At just 18 years old, he led the Yorkist forces to a decisive victory at the Battle of Towton in 1461, effectively ending Lancastrian rule and allowing him to claim the throne as Edward IV. A LATE 19TH CENTURY TURQUOISE BRACELET CIRCA 1870S The quatrefoil clasp set with cabochon turquoise on a textured ground with reeded borders and foliate decoration, between similarly set trefoil shoulders, to a mesh link bracelet, unmarked Size/dimensions: 20.0cm long Gross weight: 41.9 grams Condition Report: Clasp tests as 14-15ct gold. There is some discolouration to the turquoises in the clasp section, the clasp in good working order. The clasp section is possibly a replacement, but if it is a replacement it has been well done.. The bracelet section is testing as gold, however it has not been tested for caratage due to the reaction, but after a light scrape and the 9 carat acid on the section no reaction occurred.
