A white metal (silver?) sabretache badge of the 23rd Light Dragoons, c 1802, in the form of a female sphinx over a tablet with "EGYPT" and fake heiroglyphs with two horizontal copper lugs, GC. An old label attached stating that "the name Sphinx (but larger) was worn on the helmet (facing the other way). £150-250
An interesting George IV 1822 pattern infantry officer's sword, piped back blade 33" etched with crowned Royal cypher, "Capt. Scott Royal Artillery 1823" and at the forte "E Gill Warranted", brass hilt retaining traces of gilt and with fish skin covered grip, in its steel scabbard. GC (the blade polished rendering the etching worn, one suspension ring missing). The Royal Artillery wore the Infantry pattern sword until c 1846 when they adopted the 1821 Light Cavalry officer's sword. Note: Captain Thomas Scott Capt June 20th 1812 in the Royal Foot Artillery, had his horse killed under him at Quatre Bras, June 16th. Served at Waterloo in Brevet Major T Rogers Brigade (50 officers and ninety men), awarded Waterloo medal. Died as Brevet Major at Fordwich, Canterbury December 28th 1834. £350-450

The flip-back sleeve is in G+ condition with 5 archival stickers stuck directly onto the front and reverse of the sleeve. Also light edgewear and creasing to the corners.
