A George II strawberry dish, with sixteen lobes and undulating everted rim, 22. 5cm diam, by Ayme Videau, London 1737, 15ozs 10dwts. A few typical light scratches consistent with the age but in overall very good condition, the marks good, on the exterior beneath the rim is neatly engraved in script "Philip Ernest Noble from Mabel Noble 15th Oct 1895 to 15th Oct 1920' but this is hardly noticeable and does not detract from the appearance in any way

In overall excellent condition with the original glass bowl which also appears to be in very good condition, the marks well preserved, save those on the base adjacent to the one vacant cartouche from which an inscription or crest has probably been erased but without apparent loss or damage

An Art Deco gold, silver and black enamel combined cigarette lighter and watch, of plain rectangular design, the detachable lighter at one end, the watch concealed by a sliding lid revealing the rectangular black dial with arabic chapters, marked PAT PEND. , otherwise unmarked, c1930 . Minute (pin head sized) corner chip to the enamel at the base and a few light overall scratches but in otherwise fine condition in what is probably the original felt sleeve.
An extraordinary silver mounted tortoise carapace table snuff box, of attractively variegated shell, the plastron forming the lid and with moulded mounts engraved with panels of flowers and ribbon tied foliage, the integral hinge made "invisible' by the line of diaper engraving, 5. 5cm h, 10cm w, apparently unmarked, mid-19th c . Very light overall wear but no damage or repair and most unusual.
A rare and amusing Victorian silver and enamel vesta case, the lid with a scene of two giant turtles amidst luxuriant vegetation above the title 'ROMEO AND JULIET' and inscribed Permission STANLEY BERKELEY, 4 x 2. 7cm, by Horton & Allday, Birmingham 1887. In excellent condition with a few superficial scratches to the enamel which are only noticeable when held at an oblique angle to the light, minimal wear to the box overall, no restoration. A delightful example of a Victorian silver and enamel novelty vesta case, in an overall excellent state of preservation.
A Continental giltmetal and enamel cigarette case, the lid painted with a wooded landscape, 8. 5 x 6cm, c1920; a Victorian nickel plated pen nib brush; a Victorian papier mache and gilt decorated spectacles case, containing a pair of Victorian gold plated spectacles (4) . Each piece in generally fine condition - numerous fine overall scratches to the enamel on the cigarette case which can only be discerned if angled to the light, the nickel plating a little rubbed on the mounts to the nib brush, the spectacle case fine.
CHARLES HUNT after JOHN FREDERICK HERRING. Elis The Winner of The Great St Ledger Stakes at Doncaster 1836, aquatint on wove coloured in a contemporary hand, published by S & J Fuller, at their Sporting Gallery c18306, 38 x 48cm, maple frame . Some marginal damp staining and overall light cockling of the paper, neither of which detract markedly from the overall good impression, the colours well preserved and quite bright. Unexamined out of the frame. The frame in reasonably good condition.
CHARLES DIXON. RMS 'Majestic' on the Mersey; Above Woolwich, a pair, both signed and inscribed, pencil and watercolour heightened with white, 18 x 27cm . Some light foxing, most prevalent on RMS Majestic but both in overall very good condition with little sign of fading and in what are probably the original frames with trade label of J Smith Carver and Gilder, Cambridge.
FOLLOWER OF CHARLES ROWBOTHAM. A landscape in the Italian Lakes, pencil and watercolour heightened with white, 60. 5 x 91. 5cm. One or two light spots of foxing but in overall very good original condition, the colours with little sign of fading, undisturbed in the original frame, the backboards branded J W VOKINS makers 14 Great Portland Street.

Both in excellent condition; Item 3 - In excellent condition with only very light age staining of the paper.
CORNELIUS PEARSON. An Angler on the Banks of a Wooded Stream, signed and dated 1857, pencil and watercolour with stopping out, gum arabic with white heightening, 32 x 50cm . In excellent condition with some very light scattered foxing in the sky which is hardly noticeable and could easily be removed. A good example of the artist's work

Hallam Nottingham, with arabic chapters, date sector and pierced hands, floral centre and spandrels, painted to the arch with Una and the Lion, having 30 hour movement in full length ogee door flanked by fluted pilasters, on plain base, 210cm h . In generally good condition with small loss to the moulding on the cornice, the dial and movement original, a vertical split in the base, a little light in colour overall but no serious faults; consigned by local executors
A Victorian majolica figure of an itinerant, seated on a mound beside a wheelbarrow and smoking a cheroot, in black cap, blue coat and light brown trousers, the oval tortoiseshell glazed base with vegetation, 26cm h; a majolica asparagus dish, late 19th c (2). A firing crack in the base, the man's head broken off and amateurishly reglued back into position. Some glued breaks to the one fork of the wheelbarrow. The right foot broken off and amateurishly glued back. Small chip to the hem of the man's coat but no "professional' restoration and without loss. (See lot 33 for illustration).

A Royal Doulton figure of Pierrette modelled by Leslie Harradine, in colours but predominately black and cream, 18cm, h, printed mark, painted title, Potted by Doulton & Co and HN644, c1925. A faint firing (or glaze) crack in both wrists which does not penetrate all the way round; some very light overall crazing/glaze cracks, No damage as such, nor is there any restoration.
A white earthenware hound's head stirrup cup, painted in black and sponged in warm chocolate monochrome, 12cm h, probably Staffordshire, c1820. Even light overall crazing and the odd solitary spot of flaking but in generally excellent condition with no cracks, chips or restoration (See lot 466 for illustration).
Eight F & R Pratt pot lids, large, medium or oblong - A Pair, Peace, The Shrimpers, The Trooper, Garibaldi, Pretty Kettle of Fish, War, Alexandra Palace 1873 (Ball Nos 252, 220, 63, 334, 169, 48, 212, 200), all c1860 . All in fine condition with the exception of Pretty Kettle of Fish, cracked; Garibaldi, slightly discoloured and with a filled chip; Peace, slight discoloration but still attractive; The Shrimpers, a few very light scratches but still attractive; War, badly cracked and with several largish rim chips; Alexandra Palace, small flat rim chip. Note - damage to the flange or other faults such as staining on the reverse have been omitted from the report as they do not detract from the appearance
Two pairs of Staffordshire earthenware models of spaniels, with free forelegs and sponged in iron red or black, the latter on cobalt and gilt bases, and a group of spotted hounds seated on a green rock, a deer at their feet, 14-18cm h, all 19th c (5). Red decorated spaniels - one with a long crack in the back, slight overall yellowing of the crazed glaze but attractive, the odd minor firing crack but hardly any flaking of the enamels and no restoration. Black decorated spaniels - typical light crazing of the glaze but no damage, flaking or restoration apart from two minute edge knocks to the plinth of one, the group of two spotted hounds - one head broken off and amateurishly reglued, small loss to the encrusted moss and flaking of the turquoise green base in places. No other faults or restoration
A Derby porter mug, painted by Richard Dodson with a rectangular panel of four birds, including a kingfisher, in a wooded landscape with a castle beyond, flanked by gilt foliate borders, the rims and leaf capped scrolling handle also gilt, 12. 5cm h, Robert Bloor & Co, red printed circular BLOOR DERBY mark, c1825. Minor star crack in the base, some light wear to the gilding, restored vertical crack. (See lot 176 for illustration).
A pair of Derby Japan pattern porter mugs, boldly enamelled and richly gilt with three ducks before a cobalt blue and gilt island, beneath a border of trailing foliage, the rims and angular handles also gilt, 11. 5cm h, Robert Bloor & Co, painted crown, crossed batons and D in red, c1825. Some even light crazing which does not detract, also some localised wear to the gilding, mainly confined to the rims and handle of one mug only. The more worn of the two mugs with a minor short descending hairline crack to the left of the handle
A pair of Derby lozenge shaped dishes, the first painted with a pastoral scene with a traveller and horseman on a woodland track, a village beyond, the second with a river scene with trees and a mansion on an eminence, the prospect viewed by a man on a meandering path near an open gate, both probably by Robert Brewer, within a broad gilt fluted border and gilt rim, 28cm w, Robert Bloor & Co, painted crossed batons, D and script titles In Spain and In Italy respectively in red, no 71 in blue, c1820. Slight crazing to the glaze and light wear to the gilding but in otherwise fine condition with no restoration
A rare Derby pineapple dish, the navette shaped bowl on a flared foot and painted probably by William Billingsley with two large groups of luxuriant flowers, the interior with single plants in Smith's blue and gilt borders, Duesbury & Kean, 20cm h, painted crown, crossed batons, D and 100 in puce, c1795-1800 One tip broken off an neatly glued back into place. Descending (2 inch) hairline crack in the rim. Small repair to the rim. The blue around the foot misfired with consequent retouched areas of flaking. Some light localised wreathing of the glaze which is not very noticeable. Of fine appearance with no "professional' restoration.
A set of six Derby moulded plates in Sevres style, painted with individual roses alternating with rosebuds in gilt cartouches, 25cm diam, Robert Bloor & Co, painted crown, crossed batons and D in red, 23 in sepia, c1830 . One plate cracked, one or two of the other plates with some light staining of the slightly crazed glaze, which could probably be successfully cleaned
A Royal Crown Derby two handled vase of pronounced pear shape, finely painted by Leroy, signed, with a musical trophy in a raised gilt frame reserved on a cobalt ground with light blue and dark green, gilt-seeded reserves and medallion of flowers en grisaille, on richly gilt foot lightly moulded with overlapping leaves, 11cm h, printed mark, painted F348/1326, date code for 1903. In fine condition; no rubbing, glaze scratches, regilding or restoration.
A pair of Royal Worcester "jewelled' coffee cups and saucers, painted with festoons and ivy swags in raised gilt borders, saucer 13. 5cm diam, impressed mark and date code for 1872, gilder's initials of Henry Charles Bright; a Coalport shell moulded dessert plate, painted with a view near Hastings and gilt, 23. 5cm diam, printed mark, pattern X287, script title, c1880 (5) . One coffee cup with a flat chip to the rim near the handle, the other coffee cup with two minute rim nicks, the Coalport plate with some typical fine light overall crazing which does not detract. Two solitary spots of stacking wear to the gilt scalloped frame around the painted centre, no damage or restoration

Brazil and the Brazilians, first edition, engraved portrait, folding map, wood-engraved plates and illustrations, 2 plates hand-coloured, some foxing, original blind-stamped cloth, spine slightly faded and worn at head and foot, [Borba de Moraes p.434; Sabin 37709], 8vo, Philadelphia, 1857. Very popular and successful work which was reprinted many times. It is a more light-hearted and anecdotal account than the previous lot.
