Matchbox Regular Wheels unreleased No.59d Mercury Park Lane Fire Chief Car Pre-Production Colour Trial - red body with hood label, door shield decals, blue roof-light, clear windows, ivory interior, bare metal "1968 Mercury" base with factory hand punched rivets, chrome hubs with black plastic tyres, front bumper differs from the production Regular Wheel No.55d Mercury Park Lane Police Car & the later Superfast Police & Fire Chief Cars in having a deeper front bumper recess either side of the licence plate. Rare factory trial model clearly intended to be released as a Regular Wheel model during 1969 but only released towards the end of 1970 in the Superfast range. Good unboxed with some playwear, roof light has also been pushed into the glazing unit causing cracks to the windscreen.
Matchbox Regular Wheels 62c Mercury Cougar - Stannard Code 1 - pale yellow body (commonly referred to as cream), clear windows without rear view mirror & without windscreen wipers cast, ivory interior, bare metal base, chrome hubs with black tyres - Good Plus with some light playwear, complete with Poor "New" Type E4© Box. Very rare initial production run, believed only to have been sold in period in South Africa. This particular example has indeed been consigned for sale by the original South African owner who has had the model from childhood. One owner from new!

A .44 CALIBRE SIX-SHOT PERCUSSION LONDON PROOFED COLT REVOLVING RIFLE, 24inch sighted browned barrel, the top flate stamped COLT'S PT 1856 ADDRESS COL. COLT HARTFORD CT. USA, blued cylinder and frame, serial no. 3078, half stocked with steel mounts, brass topped wooden cleaning rod. Crisp action in GWO, clean bore with some light pitting, the top flat and rear sight block with threaded holes, presumably for a scope mount, crack to either side of wrist.
A CASED 13-BORE DOUBLE BARRELLED PERCUSSION SPORTING GUN BY JOHN MANTON & SON, 30inch sighted damascus barrels signed John Manton & Son Dover Street London, border and scroll engraved locks finely decorated with pheasant, platinum vents, half stocked with chequered wrist, border and scroll engraved steel mounts, the trigger guard with grip safety and the serial no. 11033 for circa 1840-44, brass topped wooden ramrod, contained in its green baize lined mahogany case, the lid with trade label, the top inset with a brass escutcheon with owner's crest and initials. Works well on FC and HC, light pitting to bores, one ramrod pipe replaced and light surface rust.

Good on FC and HC with clean bore with frosting and light pitting.
A .750 CALIBRE PATTERN 1842 PERCUSSION MUSKET OF ROYAL WELCH INTEREST, 39inch sighted barrel, border engraved lock stamped with a crown over VR, TOWER and dated 1849. full stocked with regulation brass mounts, the butt plate tang stamped G over 85 over 41 REG, steel ramrod. The Pattern 1842 was last principally used during the initial stages of the Crimean War. The 41st Regiment were the Royal Welch. Good on FC and HC with clean bore with frosting and light pitting.
AN 18TH CENTURY INDIAN GOLD OVER SILVER PANDAN OR BETEL NUT BOX, of lobed square form and divided in to four lidded compartments with three of these still containing a betel nut, the central finial shaped as a peacock amidst flowers and foliage and unscrewing to allow the four hinged lids to open, surrounded by eight further smaller birds each holding a pearl hanging from their beaks, the lids and sides pierced with floral and foliate openwork decoration, the based engraved over all as a large single flower, 7.5cm x 7.5cm, 320 grams approx. One hinge with partial loss. From the Tipu Sultan collection acquired by Major Thomas Hart after the siege of Seringapatam. This box was previously sold as lot 4 in our March 2019 auction of items relating to Tipu Sultan and the siege of Seringapatam from the estate of Major Thomas Hart. It had tested as 22 carat plus, however it has since come to light that it is constructed from a thick layer of gold over a white metal core and is now being sold as such.
