WW2 German K98 Combat Bayonet, fine example of a matching numbers K98 combat bayonet with two piece bakelite slab grips, steel pommel retaining much of the original blueing with waffen-amt stamps to the reverse. Housed in the original blued steel scabbard with 1941 dated leather bayonet frog attached. Near mint condition blued blade with fuller to the back edge. E.u.F Horster makers details and numbered 4930, the same as the top of the scabbard. Overall a very good example of a combat bayonet with just some light surface pitting to the reverse of the grip.

Great War Pair of Medals to the Durham Light Infantry with an Unusual Training Reserve Prefix, British War and Victory medals, “TR5 – 170497 PTE. E. DIXON DURH. L.I.”. Medals remain in good condition. Ernest (Thackrah) Dixon was born in Dewsbury, Yorkshire in November 1899. He initially served in the 52nd (Graduated) Battalion Durham Light Infantry before transferring to the 19th Battalion. He was still living in Dewsbury when he died on 7th May 1964.

WW2 German Infantry NCO’s Peaked Cap, example produced in a doeskin wool cloth. White piping to the crown and bordering the central band. Fine quality cap eagle and officers cockade. Patent NCO’s pattern chinstrap with plain black side buttons, detached and damaged from both sides. Interior of the cap with brown leather sweatband with velvet surround and perforated forehead section. Cream cloth lining to the interior with the original tailors diamond still intact. Cap shows some service wear and with some light areas of moth tracking, but generally still a good example.

Rare Third Reich D.L.V (Deutsche Luftsportverband) Peaked Cap, superb example of a enlisted ranks cap for the German air sports association (Deutsche Luftsportverband) known as the D.L.V, pre-runner to the German Luftwaffe. The cap is of blue grey wool with light blue piping to the crown and bordering the ribbed black central band. Cap has early pattern short winged cap eagle and enamelled winged propeller emblem of the organisation below. Cap with its original patent chinstrap and plain domed buttons. Near mint condition interior of the cap with orange cloth lining with un-marked celluloid diamond. Stamped to the interior is unit marking, “Eigentum DLV Landesgruppe 4”. Tan leather sweatband to the interior of the cap. Overall an excellent example of a very rare to find peaked cap.

2x Pairs of Great War Medals to the Durham Light Infantry, consisting of British War and Victory medals, “19-1523 PTE. C. ARMSTRONG DURH. L.I.” and “5-170507 PTE. R.A. WIGGINS DURH. L.I.” Generally good condition.22 year old Charles Armstrong, a labourer from Wordsworth Street, Gateshead attested for the 19th (2nd County) Battalion Durham Light Infantry on 4th August 1915. The 19th Battalion was originally raised as a Bantam Battalion and Charles’s height is given as 5 foot ½ inch. He landed in France with the Battalion on 31st January 1916 and was discharged on 31st February 1920.17 year old Raymond Andrew Wiggins enlisted in the Durham Light Infantry on 29th August 1917. He served in the 53rd (Young Soldier), 52nd Graduated, 18th and 2/6th Battalions and landed in France on 26th July 1918. He returned to the UK on 21st October 1919 and was discharged 1 month later. He died in Shipley West Yorkshire on 21st January 1976.

Rare Hitler Youth / NPEA (Students Association) Adolf Hitler School Overseas / Side Cap, standard light tan cloth side cap with red piping to the crown. Embroidered short winged NSDAP / NPEA cap eagle to the front and enamelled HJ diamond emblem below. Interior of the cap with leather sweatband and linen RZM HJ style rectangular label. Cloth lining with white stamp for the Adolf Hitler School (A H S in rectangle). The cap shows some service wear and at some stage has become damp which has made the red piping run into the cloth and the label faded to the inside. The Adolf Hitler Schools (AHS) were created by the SS and were schools set up for a selected number of students aged between 14-18. The students were chosen for their physical fitness and political dedication over educational. The idea of the school was focused on political indoctrination rather than academic studies. The SS often selected future officers from the schools.

Charles Jesse Cheeseman, from Eastbourne, Sussex attested for the 2/9th Battalion Durham Light Infantry on 6th July 1916 at the age of 39. Served in Salonika from 6th November until his return to the U.K. on 9th February 1919. Also served with service number 326557. Entitled to a pair only.35 year old Simon Henry Parkin from New Shildon, Durham attested for 2/9th Battalion Durham Light Infantry on 29th July 1916. Served in Salonika from 6th November 1916 and was discharged on 18th January 1919. Also served with service number 326787. Entitled to pair only.

The stars are varying across the three stones, the ring doesn't have a strong star unless a strong pointed light source is used, reflective. One of the earrings has a more noticeable star than the other, the other stone has some slight windows to it. The earrings are 1.3cm x 1.2cm. The sapphires are approximately 8mm long. The claws have been retipped, and there have been repairs to the settings there is rubbing to the gallery where it has been worn with another ring, some thinning to the back of the shank, the shank has been sized, there is a patch behind the pearl, the pearl is untested for origin.
