A fabulous 18th century crewel work wall hanging, finely worked in coloured wools on linen, the exquisite branching floral vines with waving stems of stylized leaves and tropical birds, 210 cm x 190 cm. Provenance : The Estate of the late Lady Rose Diana Musker (nee Lambton), Lambton Castle, County Durham. CONDITION REPORT: A wonderful example, the detail and quality excellent. Some areas of time staining to linen background, please see images. Colours are bright and not showing areas of severe damage, there are no clear and obvious signs of damage other than those in keeping with age such as light fraying.
