George IV Old Sheffield plate twin handled warming dish and cover of circular form, with gadrooned borders and engraved coat of arms, domed cover with leaf mounted handle, on four scroll feet, separate liner. 34cm across handles.Condition report: The dish rocks when placed on a flat surface, there is visible rippling to the base and some distortion around one foot. The liner has some dents, with heavier scratching to interior and areas of heavier wear to plating. The cover has a few minor dents and an area of damage to the gadrooned border. There is overall light age related scratching and wear to plating with overall tarnish to all pieces. The piece still displays well.
Pair of good quality table lamps with decorated green ostrich skin-type design, with light green shadesCondition report: Approximately 50cm in height (excluding the bulb holders). One has a small chip to base (see photograph). Otherwise in good order, although the fittings are a little tatty.

Prior to 1936, Farr boxed in the light heavyweight division, in which he was the Welsh champion. He became British and Empire heavyweight champion on 15 March 1937. He challenged for the world title against Joe Louis in the same year and gave Louis one of the toughest fights of his career, hurting him numerous times and lasting the full 15 rounds on his way to a wide unanimous decision loss, with the referee awarding Louis the fight thirteen rounds to one, while the judges scored the fight eight to five and nine to six, both in Louis's favour. The decision was booed by spectators. Farr is considered to be one of the greatest British heavyweight fighters ever. Farr was inducted into the Welsh Sports Hall of Fame in 1997.
