They have a circular seat, sinuous front legs and sabre-shaped back legs, joined by curved chamfers. The backrest is open, with a curved upper horizontal blade, with a sinuous upper profile.

The barrels ring when tapped and are tight on the action. There is a patch of very light surface scratching to the left hand barrel near the breech, this has probably been caused by clothing when the gun is mounted. The actions function with snap caps. The stock is in good order with only occasional dents and marks.

The barrels are free from pitting inside and dents outside there is some light wear to the blacking. The barrels are not quite on face with the action and there is a small amount of wobble between barrel and action. The actions work correctly with snap caps. The forend has some light chips to the edges, there is a split to the pistol grip of the stock, as well as a strange area just behind the safety catch which looks to be the starts of a repair that has never been completed. The butt stock has a fair few dents and marks.

The action functions smoothly. The bore has one small patch of light pitting around midway which might improve with polishing as it does not look too deep. There are no dents to the barrel. The muzzle end of the barrel is scuffed up and has patches of pitting (see additional image added online)

There is a minute amount of wobble between barrels and action with the forend removed. The action has some light surface corrosion. The stock has some dents and scratches as well as a chip to the toe.

There is a minute amount of wobble between barrels and action with the forend removed. The forend has a split to the inside which does not show on the outside of the gun and is only visible when the forend is removed. The stock has some light scratches.

The bores have some light pitting patches as well as evidence of polishing to remove pitting. The bores measure at .713 and .714 against the .710 proof stamps. The actions appear to function correctly with snap caps however the safety catch does not always work correctly and will not hold the lower barrel back when engaged. The .410 barrel firing pin does not always retract correctly after firing and drag marks can be seen across the rim of the cartridge. The cross bolt also does not always slide completely home when the gun is closed and needs to be helped with a push. There is evidence of a repair to a small split to the stock behind the safety catch, outside of this there are no damages or repairs to the stock.

The butt plate looks to be a replacement. The forend has some chips to the edges. The length of pull from the front trigger is 14 inches and 13 inches from the rear trigger. The stock has a very slight cast off, the drop of the comb is not known.

There are no dents to the barrels but there is some wear to the blacking. The bores measure at .738 and .737. The barrels are tight on the action with no wobble when the forend is removed. The action cocks and ejects correctly, and the safety works. The woodwork has some light scratches but no splits or repairs, there are some very minor nicks to the edges of the forend. The chequering is wearing thin in places.

The top of the comb and the tip of the heel have been crudely adapted to fit the repoil pad. A small amount of attention would make these areas look a lot better than they currently do.

The bores have some pitting. One pistol has a very minor short split in the typical location of the thin part of the stock between the side nail and the barrel. There is also signs of small chips to the stock being restuck around the trigger guard pineapple finial. The second pistol as a chip to the stock between the lock and the barrel below where the hammer would fall (see image 9 online) There is also a chipped area to the horn endcap. The case has scratches, dents and marks, the lining is lifting in areas. There are chips to the corners.

The ramrod pipe rail looks to have been reattached to the barrel and is slightly proud at the muzzle end. The ramrod is a replacement. There are some short splits to the top of the butt stock near the buttplate tang, outside of this the stock is free from damages or repairs but it does have several dents knocks and marks.

Whilst the rifle has been used it has been very well looked after and only shows minor signs of wear from use. The stock has some light dents and scratches the worst being a series of light scratches seen in image 10 online. The lock works correctly and produces a good spark. The bore is clean with no pitting or damages and a crisp rifling pattern. The slots on the barrel tang screw and the breech plug show signs of being taken out in order to clean the gun down.

The black finish on the chassis has some light scuffs and scratches however there is nothing defacing. The scope has a good picture and adjusts, there are no obvious scratches. It has lost the logo badge from the left-hand side.
