A French gilt bronze and ivory figure, of a girl wearing a bonnet and dress, with Lehman foundry mark, on a marble base, 19 cm high See illustration Condition report Report by GH Generally grubby, some small chips and nibbles to foot-rim of base. Some discolouration and browning to gilt bronze, and some loss to gilt, particularly around the shoulders. Some very light cracking and ingrained dirt to ivory face.
A Poole Pottery vase, X/PT, 20 cm high, a similar cheese dish, a W H Goss cheese dish and cover, and other ceramics (box) Condition report Report by NG Poole pottery vase, ex/pt: the base stamped 716. Some surface scratches to exterior and some light marks to interior. Poole cheese dish: base stamped 336. Inside of cover inscribed E/TV and a crossed V (?). No visible damage or repair. W H Goss cheese dish: transfer of coat of arms just falls off edge of lid. Some rubbing to gilt. Pitting in glaze, but no visible damage or repair.
An officer's Light Infantry sword and scabbard, a sword stick, a bayonet, and another sword (damages/loss) (4) Condition report Report by RB The light Infantry sword: More in a stored condition, rather than something that has been proudly on display or in a collection. The leather bound handle is rubbed, and bald in parts. The blade has previously been rusted, and has been cleaned/polished, which is now dull, and there are a few fresher spots of rust, with the scabbard in a similar condition i.e. having previously been cleaned and now dirty again.
A 19th century elm curved settle, 154 cm wide See illustration Condition report Report by RB Generally pretty good and market fresh. The crest rail is slightly warped, the vertical back boards have shrunk a bit, and there is a small amount of day light visible to the third/fourth board in from the left hand side, some traces of old worm, as you would expect in elm, mostly to the base sides, back corners and to the back, where people have knocked/kicked it, the right hand top half of the wing section has been knocked off and is repaired, rather than professionally restored, there are a few areas where the timber has had large knocks, and these have been filled in. 137 cm high. Generally good, now requiring just a small amount of TLC.
