FOLIO SOCIETY - CHARLES DICKENS 16 VOLUME SET, 1980s, each volume in individual slipcaseCondition Report: In very good condition over all. Minor scuffs on back of slipcase bottom on some, the odd very tiny scratch on a few slipcases, hardly noticeable. There are differences in tone to the colour of the spines - maybe very slight light fading due to position on bookcase? Oliver Twist is in a different colour much lighter slip case than all the others. However, nothing major, inside they are in pristine condition.

This appears to be an advance copy as on the endpaper Marie Stopes has written "To Harry Stopes-Roe with love from his mother, Marie C. Stopes. To be published in September 1956." With the book are an advertising leaflet/order form, a copy of 'The Vigilant, The Official Organ of the Vigilance Committee of the Grand Orange Lodge of Scotland' dated December 1956 which reviews the book and a typed copy of a letter to the Editor of the Times from Avro Manhattan dated London 2 Dec. 1956.Condition Report: Book in very good condition, slight fading on spine and a little light staining.Dustjacket has loss to bottom corner on back, tears to top edge on front and fading to spine

The revolver has very light overall pitting. There is a small dent to the edge of the trigger guard. The action functions correctly. The bore has some pitting inside. The case lid has warped and the top is separating slightly on the corners. The escutcheon and lock plate are missing.
Lincoln No.3 12 bore side by side shotgun, serial number 82980, with 28 inch barrels choked to 3/4 and full.UK SHOTGUN LICENCE OR RFD REQUIRED TO BID ON THIS LOT.Condition report:Year and manufacturer not known. Very light surface pitting to both bores in small patches which could possibly clean out. 2.75inch chambers. Both barrels gauge at .724 measured 9 inches from the breach. There is slight movement between barrels and action when firmly twisted. No rusting but the blueing does show some wear and scratches.There is significant wear to the bluing where the forend sits, (this is covered when the gun is assembled) Very minor dent to the muzzle (illustrated). Woodwork generally good with only minor scratches and dents typical of use. Length of pull 13.75 from rear trigger14 5/8ths from the front trigger. Proof mark illustrated in photos uploaded recently online.
Boss 12 bore side by side rotary underlever hammergun, serial number 1979, the 28 3/4 Damascus black powder proof barrels engraved Boss & Co. 73 St James's Street London, figured chequered stock with silver escutcheon engraved with a lion, scroll engraved actions and steel butt plate. (end of one barrel dented/ deformed)UK SHOTGUN LICENCE OR RFD REQUIRED TO BID ON THIS LOT.28 3/4 inch barrels.Condition report: The bores are generally bright and shiny with only very minor surface marks that will possibly clean out. They gauge at .729 on both barrels. The barrels show little wear and are in good order except for the dent at the end of the muzzle. The barrels ring nicely with good resonance when tapped. The barrels line up tightly against the action and no light can be seen between the join. There is no wobble between stock and barrels. Length of pull is 13.75 inches from the rear trigger and 14.5 from the front trigger. The stock is generally good with a dark patina and good figure, there are light scratches, the forend has a section of wear in which the chequering has been worn through. There is a minor chip to the edge of the forend on the side where wood meets barrel.The locks function correctly. There is no half cock.
George and John Deane percussion double 8 bore shotgun, 32 inch Damascus barrels, fitted with platinum breach plugs, the top flat engraved with a gun dog's head, the named side locks engraved with gun dogs chasing game birds within scrollwork borders, chequered stock stamped with 1792 serial number, with vacant silver escutcheon, steel cap to pistol grip and pineapple finial trigger guard.Section 58(2) Antique /obsolete calibre, can be owned without a license.32 inch barrels.Condition report: The gun has a pleasing patina and the action works correctly. There are a few condition issues the main being the rib between the two barrels which is lifting slightly in two areas. The barrels have been cleaned up as the maker's address is faint. There is fine surface pitting to the metalwork generally. One bore has a patch of pitting (which I doubt will clean out) around midway through the tube, the other bore has no major pits but there is light surface pitting. The wood is generally good but there are some chips to the forend where the edges meet the metal of the barrels.

Mosin Nagant M91/30 PU Sniper Rifle 7.62 x 54R, serial number TP252, the receiver dated 1943 and stamped with Tula star and arrow mark, fitted with correct PU scope numbered to the rifle with original green plaster scope covers, the rifle with matching numbers to bolt, butt plate, receiver, and barrel, fitted with sling.UK RFD OR A FIREARMS LICENCE WITH CORRECT VARIATION FOR .7.62 or 7.62x54R RIFLE REQUIRED TO BUY THIS LOT, PLEASE NOTE A 7.62/.308 VARIATION IS NOT VALID.Condition report: The rifle is in good condition, there are scratches wear and marks to the wood typical of a military rifle that has been used but there are no serious damages. The bluing is generally good and but has some light surface scratches. The action appears to function correctly. The bore is good with no signs of pitting and strong rifling. We do not have headspace gauges. The scope has an internal scratch to the objective lens which is not visible when sighting through it. The scope is clear to look through and adjusts correctly.
Martini Henry .577 / 450 MkII volunteer rifle, the inside of the stock bearing original owners name 'Alfred Aglward Majaba 27th Feb 1881' the 32 inch barrel fitted with folding leaf sight up to 1300 yards, the rest of the rifle fitted out with standard specification military parts some of which bear WD Arrow marks.Section 58(2) Antique /obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence. 32 inch barrel.Condition report: The rifle has a dark overall patina. Most of the bluing has turned matt dark brown, there are worn patches around the muzzle, butt plate, trigger guard etc. The stock has lots of knocks and small dents but nothing defacing. The bore is almost mint with only very light surface speckling. There is slight surface pitting to the exterior metalwork but nothing major. The action appears to function correctly.

There is no visible pitting and only one light patch of grey in the right-hand barrel bore, this might clean out.
