The stock is heavily worn and previous lacquers have degraded leaving remnants of polish throughout, otherwise overall solid but well used condition.

A Snider action percussion cap converted Tower 1868 pattern .577 three-band musket, with 36" barrel, the lock stamped with VR crown cypher, fitted with walnut stock and brass furniture, the breech stamped with various Birmingham proof marks and mounted with walnut stock and brass furniture, overall length 138cm.Condition Report: Overall ok condition, the woodwork has a good patina, signs of use throughout including scuffs, scrapes, splits, losses, patch repairs etc, all commensurate with use and age. The metalwork has light surface pitting otherwise appears ok. There is a deep score from the butt plate in towards the stock but it is not fractured through, however, it does appear that there is a fracture to the opposite side to the lock from the breech towards the trigger.
