The base stamped 'Royal Copenhagen Denmark', painted XSP and model number 1/100655cm highNo breaks, chips or restoration. In good condition.

There is overall crazing to the pottery, the metal mounts have some light tarnishing mainly to the underside.

The sitter was the daughter of Jeremiah Ives of Norwich and married in 1781 William Drake, MP for Amersham.The painting is executed in oil on a canvas support which is unlined. The canvas tension is slightly slack, but the picture is in plane. The paint layers are in a stable condition overall. The varnish layer is thick, glossy and yellowed. There are localised areas of overpaint visible under ultraviolet light. It is unclear if some elements of the composition have been reworked, this requires further investigation.Framed 90 x 77cm
