A late 19th Century Japanese Meiji Period carved netsuke as a rat, signed to base, approx 3.5 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Overall some light general wear and minor scuffs, and a couple of small marks to his back - possibly a scuff or maybe some paint deposits, but otherwise appears in good condition.
A pair of late 19th / early 20th Century oak framed Orkney chairs with seagrass back and rush seat CONDITION REPORTS Approx 107cm high, gap between arms 49.5cm, seat 40cm off the floor x 45cm deep, some wear to the seagrass backand to the arms, some light scratches to the frame, general small signs of wear and tear through use. Condition, however, generally good. Some signs of rubbing on the wood against other pieces of furniture.

A late 18th Century Bilston enamel patch box of waisted form, the dome top printed in black with scene of a monument with foliage, inscribed to base "Esteem the giver" above a plain green base, the interior set with mirror in lid, 3.5 cm x 2.7 cm, together with a similar example, the enamelled top printed with inscription "Look within and you may view a maid to whom I will be true" above an oval shaped green base, the lid opening to reveal an interior set with mirror, approx 4 cm x 3 cm CONDITION REPORTS Oval box - various cracks to the enamel to the top, some yellow stains, all over light scratches, mirror to the interior is cracked in various places, enamel to the interior has various cracks (see images). Rectangular box - various small cracks to the top, various scratches etc all over, general small signs of wear and tear.
SCHOOL OF KAREL DU JARDIN (1621-1678) "Boy with laden donkey and dog before city walls", oil on panel, indistinctly signed lower left, bears label verso relating to Sotheby's Sale 18th December 1953 "Day of Sale Wednesday 18th February 1953 at 11 o'clock precisely, The property of Miss. Mackenzie Foveran Karel du Jardin 17N An Italian village street with boy and donkey panel 9 x 9½ inches", 22 cm x 24.5 cm CONDITION REPORTS Painting is framed and glazed and sealed within the frame, so unable to inspect fully. However, through the glass, the painting can be seen to have quite a lot of craquelure, although the cracquelure is less pronounced to the blue areas of the sky to it is possible there may have been some restoration in that area. Some very small pitting marks throughout and some small scuffs. Through the glass it would appear that there has been some restoration, and there have been some flakes of missing and re-coloured, and there are some areas where the craquelure not as uniform, suggesting restoration, including to the boy and to the dog. Under UV light several areas appear dark, suggesting restoration, including the whole of the dog's head and front left leg, the boy's back leg, edge of boy's head and forehead, top of donkey's head and some areas to his legs and body, and some areas centre foreground, plus a few other small areas throughout. In natural light the dog's head is painted quite a dark colour.
A Birmingham Guild of Handicrafts copper wall light or table lamp designed by Arthur Stansfield Dixon, the tapering scrollwork support on a domed plate pierced for wall mounting, hinged and supporting a hammered copper shade with brass cap, approx 55 cm high CONDITION REPORTS For further information see ALAN CRAWFORD "By Hammer and Hand" Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, Page 99, Plate 77 and Page 101, Plate 80 for a contemporary illustration of a display of similar lamps by The Birmingham Guild of Handicrafts - also see Christie's South Kensington Classic Arts and Crafts Sale 2nd November 2000 Lot 173 for an identical piece and Woolley & Wallis Lot 533 3rd December 2014. Condition: There is some sticky residue from stickers, there are a couple of dents to the outer rim, slightly mis-shapen. The bulb holder appears to be a replacement. The ferule beneath the holder does not fit flush with the ball pivot. There is a blob of glue or solder and a small hole on the side of the stand. General wear and tear to include wear to the copper especially on its base, some surface scratches. See images for details.
A Gucci gold plated cased writswatch with original leather strap, serial number 0337962, model number 3000.2.M with green leather Gucci case, together with a Hamilton gold plated cased doctor's watch with twin dials - one Arabic and one Roman numerals - with original leather strap and leather covered box (2) CONDITION REPORTS The Gucci watch has some surface scratches to the outside edge, especially between the Gucci symbol and figure 1. Has general wear and tear, is numbered 3000.2.M to back, together with 0337962. Length including clasp approx 23.5cm. Box has some light wear including some scuffs to bottom edge. The Hamilton watch has some light wear including surface scratches, is numbered 6274 to back. Length including clasp approx 23.9cm. It has a guarantee card with it including date of sale 29 October 98, Singapore Airline, box has general wear and tear. It is not known whether or not these are in working order.
A mid 20th Century amboyna and ivory inlaid games compendium, the lid opening to reveal a fitted interior comprising a carved ivory chess set, one side natural, the other stained red, ivory dominoes, ivory draughts, one side natural, the other stained red, two leather games boards, one for chess, the other for backgammon, together with assorted cards and contact bridge score card, dated "Revised November 1932" to back, height of King 6.8 cm, height of Pawn 3.5 cm, box 38.5 cm x 28.5 cm CONDITION REPORTS Various losses, scratches, damage to the veneer to the box, especially to the top. Interior looks to be complete with a full complement of card packs, however, is not unknown if all cards are present. Two dice. 15 white and 15 red draughts pieces. It appears to be a full complement of dominoes. All with general small light scratches, general wear and tear, but overall good.
ALBERT HENKELMAN (20TH CENTURY) "Dutch ice skaters on frozen lake", oil on panel, signed lower right, together with another "Horse pulling cart on a frozen lake", oil on panel, signed lower left, each 23.5 cm x 38.5 cm (2) CONDITION REPORTS Under UV the white highlights show up very luminescent. Under natural light pictures have some light general wear and a few surface scuffs and scratches, but generally appear in reasonably good order. Frames have some wear and some cracks and splits.
A 19th Century ivory bound three draw brass-lined telescope, inscribed "G. Adams London" to barrel, housed in a red Morroco leather case, 4.4 cm closed, 8.6 cm extended x 4 cm diameter at the largest end CONDITION REPORTS The case is extremely scuffed and worn. The telescope end ring of ivory is cracked, the telescope makes a rattling sound when moved. Lenses appear clear. General wear and tear to include dirt, and light surface scratches.
A gold cased open face pocket watch with silvered dial and Roman numerals enclosing a subsidiary seconds dials, inscribed to interior "J B Jones Boston by Godmar" (glass missing) CONDITION REPORTS The glass is missing. The face is discoloured and tarnished. the blacking on the number is worn in several places. There is surfacing scratching and wear, light knocks etc. It is not known whether or not in working order.
ABRAHAM HULK JUNIOR (1851-1922) "Dutch fishing vessel coming in to shore", oil on panel, signed lower left, 16 cm x 23 cm CONDITION REPORTS Overall with wear and scuffs, yellowing to the varnish. The frame has various chips and losses and some areas of repainting. The picture itself has a light coloured vertical stripe near the centre from top to bottom - possibly a water mark. Under UV light picture shows various areas of restoration and overpainting, including to the sail to the largest central vessel and to the vessel to the right plus various areas to the sky. Overall with undulations and craquelure to the paint, some un-eveness to surface. Several horizontal cracks to the paint. The frame has various chips and losses and some areas of repainting. Several large cracks / scratches running horizontally across the picture. There is a water mark running down the length of the picture. Dirty throughout and especially in top right corner where there is a brown mark. Various pock marks. General wear and tear. The frame has some splits and repairs, gilding is worn.
A late 18th Century (possibly Berlin) patch box in the form of a pug with pink bow and three pups seated on a floral decorated mound, the lid with floral spray and butterfly, opening to reveal a mirrored lid, the interior set with floral sprays, the gilt work mount with scrolling decoration, 4.5 cm wide x 3.6 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Some very small light scratches. Dark mark to the dog's hind quarter and dark mark above pup's head (see images). Very small chip to mother dog's nose and possibly to right ear. Small chip to another pup's ear. Mirror inside is becoming de-silvered. General small signs of wear and tear. Small loss to the enamel to the base near the edge (see images).
ATTRIBUTED TO GEORGE ARMFIELD (1808-1893) "Ferreting for rabbits", study of sending ferret down a rabbit hole with three terriers and horse and man standing with top hat and shotgun in hand, two figures to background, a brace of rabbits already caught to the foreground", oil on canvas, unsigned, 62 cm x 76 cm CONDITION REPORTS Overall with wear, dirt, craquelure, cracks to the paint. Flaking to the paint, some areas of paint loose and some areas of paint missing. A large area of missing paint centre right. Some yellowing. Some scratches and scuffs. Some restoration. Some streaky marks. Under UV light several areas of repair and restoration are evident, particularly an approximately crescent shaped repair to the standing figure's left should, edge of face, hat, and to the left of the figure. Restoration to tree to left of the picture, and also to a few further areas, which show up dark under UV. The majority of the picture shows up a milky white under UV.
IN THE MANNER OF C H LITTLEBOY (19TH CENTURY) "Heraldic crest for the Harvey / Herring Family with motto Alteri Si Tibi", oil on panel, unsigned, 48 cm x 53.5 cm CONDITION REPORTS Shows signs of crazing to the crest. There is wear to the gilding in areas. Some light surface scratches. the background has been entirely repainted / blackened, and there are some small areas of touching up to the image itself, especially in the bottom right corner. General wear. Frame has chips to the edges and wear. In need of a clean. Please see image.
A Victorian silver swing-handled basket with grape and vine decoration, raised on four scrolling feet, with blue glass liner (by Edward and John Barnard, London, 1856), excluding handle approx 10 cm high, basket approx 9 oz CONDITION REPORTS Blue glass liner - chip to rim, various scratches throughout, the liner does not fit perfectly into the basket, indicating that it may be a replacement or that the basket has bent out of shape. Metal has light scratches throughout, general small signs of wear and tear.
AFTER GERARD DOU (1613-1675) "Gentleman seated at a table writing by candlelight, a marble statue before him", oil on panel, signed "Gerard Dou" to the base of the statue, bears label verso "Bought by John Long Westhill Sydenham at the Debussy Sale Southwold August 1890 Artist G Dou", 29 cm x 23 cm CONDITION REPORTS Horizontal crease type line running across the middle of the picture with some light dotted marks and some crazing. Nothing significant under UV light, frame - has cracks and missing pieces throughout and wear.

Some light scratches to the strap, overall general condition appears good. Back does not appear to have been removed. It still has its plastic cover around the revolving dial. General light signs of wear and tear throughout. Size approx total length of the interior 13.5cm.

Some light areas of staining. Fringing worn in places. General small signs of wear and tear.
A ruby glass and silver mounted wine flagon with Maltese Cross thumb piece (by George Fox, London, 1871), 24.5 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Various chips and losses to the foot. Light scratches throughout. General wear and tear. the lid is slightly out of line from the spout. the handle has some 'cracks' where the solder seams are beginning to show. The glass has frits all over and the base has several large chips. Surface scratches, internal flaws, etc. Patination and dirt.
STEPHEN DARBISHIRE (1940-) "Naomi washing", nude study of lady by wash stand, oil on panel, signed lower left, with Richard Hagen label verso, approx 15 cm x 17.5 cm (ARR) CONDITION REPORTS Under UV light has a slightly milky appearance and small specs of dirt show up luminescent. Generally appears OK. Under natural light, overall has some light general wear and dirt but overall condition appears good. Frame has a speckled effect finish and some light wear, scuffs, but generally sound.
19TH CENTURY ENGLISH SCHOOL A family Heraldic crest featuring a winged crown above the crest with motto "Probitate. et Labore" with stag to the upper left corner and wolf to the upper right CONDITION REPORTS Overall with wear, scuffs, craquelure, undulations to paint, roughness and pitting to surface, some lumpy paint areas. There appears to be the faint outline / shadow of a slightly larger crest beneath the current painting which is showing around the edges of the current crest, swags, tassels, wings, etc. This extends around the winged area, the swags, tassels and to the loops and edge to the right side and also beneath the draped fabric to the left and the rope. The frame has various chips and losses. The board bears canvas remnants glued to back. Under UV light some, but not all, of the shadowy/ridges areas which seem to indicate another crest beneath, show up dark, overall the appearance is quite milky, and probably revarnished. Repaired hole top centre.
A snuff box (probably Berlin) in the form of a cavorting couple in 18th Century dress, set on a floral decorated mound with sheep, bearing the motto "Vous aimer fait mon bonheur", with agate set hinged lid opening to reveal an interior set with three floral sprays, the gilt metal mounts embossed with floral and scrolling decoration, 5 cm wide x 5.3 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Some light scratches, some wear to the paint and giltwork especially evident on the gentleman's tricorn hat. Possibly the loss of a flowerhead to the lady's hair. Some light scratches throughout. The lid feels slightly loose to the pot and has got a dent to the rim, needs some attention. General small signs of wear and tear throughout.
A pair of 19th Century Spode cabinet plates "Barrack and Queen's Bridges Dublin" and "Annamo County of Wicklow", each depicting bridges, 22.7 cm diameter CONDITION REPORTS Both have some light general wear and quite a lot of dirt. There are some scuffs and scratches to the gilt decoration and to the picture decoration to the centre, and some firing deposits, but both appear to be sound.
A pair of Adam style green painted simulated marble urn stands with square Sienna marble top, raised on a four sided tapering columnar base decorated with applied gilt swag and torch mouldings to plinth base, 26.5 cm x 113.5 cm CONDITION REPORTS First stand - splits and repairs to the marble to the top in various places, small chips etc to the edges. All over signs of woodworm, general wear and tear, chips, scratches etc. Second stand - large chip to top, various other chips, various repairs throughout, light scratches, woodworm holes, scuffs, general wear and tear, paint appears to be bubbling down one side. Both have various signs of wear and tear throughout.
ATTRIBUTED TO BENJAMIN BLAKE (CIRCA 1770-1830) "Grouse, Snipe and English Grey Partridge", still life study of game, oil on panel, unsigned, bearing paper label verso, 21.5 cm x 17 cm CONDITION REPORTS There is crazing / craquelure all over. Various pock marks and some flaking. Some surface scratches all over and some cracking to the right side approx half way down, and 2cm in. There are few small dark spots which show up under UV light . Frame has some losses, and especially to the corners and general wear. Please see images.
A Clarice Cliff "Bizarre" pattern coffee set with blue crocus pattern comprising coffee pot, cream jug, sugar bowl, five cups and six saucers CONDITION REPORTS The teapot has been broken and restored and it would appear that the entire handle side has been off and been put back on again. Crazing all over, resprayed. Tea cups, milk jug and sugar bowl all have wear and tear, surface scratches, some small chips to rims, crazing. All items show up very dark under UV light.
ALICE VAN HEDDEGHEM (Exhib 1906-27) "Scattered roses and hyacinths upon a stone ledge", oil on canvas, signed lower right, 38.5 cm x 117 cm (ARR) CONDITION REPORTS Image has some light scratches, there is also a line running all the way along horizontally visible at certain angles - possible flaw in the canvas exaggerated by the paint. Under UV light there is a darker patch just left of centre in the top half - possible repainting. Some cracking to paintwork especially in the central area. Has general wear and tear. Frame has general wear and tear to include some splits.Canvas has been cut to back and probably reframed. See images for further details.
A Japanese black lacquered inro decorated as a cage containing three birds, the base of the case decorated with two three-toed dragons, raised on red cabriole legs, the inro made up of four sections and a lid, the cord set with a carved ivory ball, the inro approx 7.2 cm high CONDITION REPORTS The ivory ball has a large cracks and some yellowing and discolouration. The lacquered inro itself has some light wear and scuffs and one of the sections is slightly stiff. Some rubbing and wear to the lips to interior where sections have been opened and closed. Some dirt and deposits to interiors. Bears a label to interior which is partially stuck down and bears script. There is an area of damage to the exterior to one side and sections of the raised beaded laquered edges are missing in this area, and an area of the giltwork beside it is missing and is currently plain black (please see photos), some of the blue/green decoration around this area is also missing.
Pair of 18th century Worcester fence pattern tea bowls, 4.9cm, two further tea bowls and three Worcester saucers, (7) CONDITION REPORT: Tea bowl 1: has been split and poorly repaired. Tea bowl 2: chips to foot rim. Pitting evident. Surface scratching. Tea bowl 3: grubby, chips to rim, surface scratching. Dirty mark to base. Tea bowl 4: light surface scratching, pitting again evident. Saucer 1: pitting to surface in several areas and to base. Saucer 2: no obvious chips/cracks. Pitting to surface. Scratching to surface. Saucer 3: glaze has run in places, pitting evident. Dirty in places. Heavily pitted on underside.
Pair of Art Deco Boch Freres "Biches Bleues" vases signed by Charles Catteau with deer on crackle glaze CONDITION REPORT: 27.5cm high. Light surface scratching to crackle glaze. Vase 1 base has brown printed mark made in Belgium, Boch F.es La Louviere, black printed CH.Catteau and D943 and impressed mark 806. Body appears to be in good condition. Vase 2 same marks, also 22 and 5 in black, body appears ok but two sections of rim, out and repaired (rivetted).
French ruby, emerald and marcasite ring, 19th century, the oval setting of a central peridot surrounded by eight rubies and an outer band of marcasites two emeralds and two orange stones, set in silver on a gold shank, eagle's head mark, ring size M, gross weight 4.3g, length of setting 20mm. Condition report: central peridot generally abraded; one ruby loose in its setting; one emerald has surface pitting; both orange stones have light abrasion; eight marcasites missing, 12 in situ; shank has been cut and perhaps filled at the bottom
