He was elected ARA in November 1778 and these etchings dedicated to Reynolds, then President of the Royal Academy were made to celebrate Mortimer's election to the Academy. His Romantic style much influenced William Blake and Henry Fuseli.

WILLIAM ALBERT CLARK "Flossie" and "Jim", portrait studies of two terriers oil on canvas each signed and dated 1944 lower left and titled lower right CONDITION REPORTS The painting of Flossie has numerous scuffs around the edges and some accretions, five small holes just below the dog and to the bottom left. Further minor scuffs and some minor areas of loss to the paint. The painting of Jim has some light surface scratches and scuffs, wear to the edge of the painting, crazing throughout, a couple of small areas of loss to the left hand side of the painting. Under UV light paintings appear to have been cleaned. There also appear to be areas of over-painting - mainly to some areas of the lawn and under the dog's feet. 19TH CENTURY ENGLISH SCHOOL "Pheasant Shooting Scene" with gentleman in red jacket, another climbing a gate in the background, two spaniels in foreground, pheasant alighting, oil on tin, unsigned CONDITION REPORTS The painting has some light scuffs and scratches, accretions. Could do with a clean. There is a blister to the paint below the pheasant resulting in an area of loss and also an area of loss to a part of one of the branches to the left of the pheasant. Some staining there also. Possibly some fading and discolouration in areas. The painting is loose in the frame. There are some areas of loss to the paint in the lower right corner. A 19th Century black lacquered and gilt decorated Chinese Qing Dynasty polychrome painted fan decorated with multiple figures in court setting (faces superimposed on ivory, some flags and cloth elements of the picture superimposed on silk and clothing) CONDITION REPORTS Some light surface scratches to the sticks and guards. The leaf has wear and areas of loss to the paint at the creases. Wear to the edge of the fan and some small areas of loss to the banding at the edge. Some minor splits to the edge of the leaf as well. Some fraying and discoluration to the silk used for the clothes on the figures. General wear and tear commensurate with age and use. PEREGRINE FEENEY "Tantalon", coastal scene with choppy seas and ruins of a castle on a cliff, oil on canvas, inscribed with title and artist's name verso, framed, image size approx 73.5 cm x 150 cm CONDITION REPORTS Painting has some light surface scratches, crazing in areas, accretions and could probably do with a clean. There is substantial damage and loss to the lower left corner of the frame. Other smaller areas of loss to the gilt on the frame. Some cracks also. A collection of T G Green & Co cornishware blue and white china to include milk jug, flour caster, sugar caster x 2, salt caster, rolling pin, various bowls, teapot, further milk jug, egg cups, cup and saucer, mustard pot etc (25 pieces total) CONDITION REPORTS All items basically sound with some light surface scratches and some crazing to a few of the objects. Wear to the handles of the rolling pin. A small chip to the underside of the lip on the milk jug and one of the sugar casters has some areas of white glaze missing on the lid but this is from the manufacturing process. One of the jugs has a small hairline crack at the base. All items have general wear and tear commensurate with age and use. See photos for more details.

An 18th Century triple cased pocket watch, the fusee movement by Edward Prior of London, No. 66683, with enamelled dial and Turkish numerals, inscribed "Edward Prior London", housed in a plain silver case with silver mid case with embossed banding, within a tortoiseshell and pique work decorated outer case CONDITION REPORTS Approx 6cm in diameter. The outer tortoiseshell case has areas of loss both to the tortoiseshell and to the piquet studded decoration. Possibly some fading and discolouration and light surface scratches and scuffs also. Fading and discolouration to the inner cloth. The inner silver case has some tarnishing, accretions, light surface scratches, etc. The silver case for the movement has light surface scratches, scuffs, a couple of minor dents and some tarnishing in areas. The face itself has three hairline cracks, accretions, some discolouration. Watch has general wear and tear commensurate with age and use. See photos for more details.

An Ashworths Ironstone Oriental design dinner service comprising thirty-nine large plates, six medium plates, twelve smaller plates, twelve soup bowls, two soup tureens, two vegetable tureens, two sauce tureens (one with lid missing), two sauce boats, eight oval serving platters (85 total) CONDITION REPORTS Light surface scratches and scuffs to some of the items. Some discolouration to some. Accretions. Some wear to the gilt mainly around the edges and also to some of the decoration. One of the gravy boats has a chip to the underside of the lip. There is also a chip and a crack to the foot. The other gravy boat has a large chip to the foot and an old repair. One of the large tureens has an old repair to the foot. One of the large platters or serving dishes has a crack all the way across and an old repair. There is a lid missing on one of the smaller tureens. All items have general wear and tear commensurate with age and use. See photos for more details.
