As awarded by the Judges Mess'rs Jordan Appleyard & Pearson 19th August 1862.Note: Sir George Orby Wombwell was one of the youngest officers to take part in the famous Charge of the Light Brigade, where under rank of "Cornet" he was aide-de-camp to Lord Cardigan. Sir George retired as lieutenant in 1855, when he inherited his title and estate, Newburgh Priory in Coxwold, North Yorkshire, on the death of his father. He presented this trophy to one of his tenant farmers in his capacity of Lord of the Manor.
