AN ALWYN CARR MOONSTONE SET SILVER GOBLET the hammer textured U shaped bowl flared at the rim and inscribed I WAS WROUGHT FOR JOSEPHINE BY DESIRE OF HER GODFATHER "DE SARAM", the knop and flared foot chased with florets alternating with fleur de lys and other flowers and studded with eight moonstone cabochons, 12cm h, maker's mark and engraved under the foot ALWYN CARR ME FECIT, London 1932, 7ozs ++A particularly attractive example in fine preserved condition with old polish residue, the bowl retaining the hammer marks which pleasingly catch the light when handled.
