1905-11 Queen Victoria' selection comprising 3d olive-green upper left block of four, 3d sage-green lower marginal horizontal strip of six (perf separation in centre perfs) and lower left horizontal pair (light overall gum toning) with plate number '1', also pale purple/yellow lower marginal horizontal strip of six, 4d red-brown (SG 48) block of four wonderfully fresh u/m and rare thus, also 4d black/yellow, lower marginal horizontal strip of three with part imprint (large part o.g. and faults), 6d dull orange block of four with part imprint in lower margin and 6d lilac (chalk-surfaced paper), lower marginal horizontal pair with part imprint, other than mentioned the stamps mostly fine large part o.g. or u/m and a nice group (8 Pieces)
1935 Silver Jubilee 1½d and 1s left marginal blocks of forty (4 x 10) and thirty two (4 x 8) respectively, both with a similar variety to the Lightning conductor but with the 'Conductor' to the left of the gable end on pos. 1/4, also the Two Swans variety pos. 2/2 (SG 115/ and 117/var), both with a couple of light bends and trivial gum wrinkle on 1½d Lightning conductor stamp, the 1s block folded (causing some separation between rows 5 & 6), otherwise u/m, attractive and scarce large positional multiples
WITHDRAWN 1935 20c light blue and olive-green' Silver Jubilee', two similar lower marginal blocks of nine with plate number '1' and central guide lines in margins, one block with the lower left stamp showing variety Diagonal line by turret the other block without the variety (SG 124/f), the centre stamp on the variety block with small tone spot, otherwise fine u/m
1897 Diamond Jubilee 2½d dull mauve and blue (SG 11), complete left pane of sixty (6 x 10) with margins all round and plate number '1' in upper and lower margins, some bends/wrinkles and one stamp creased at foot where the sheet was badly folded (one of a number of folds), perf reinforcement in margin and between stamps with 9 large hinges affecting ten stamps, the other stamps mostly u/m, the left margin with light tone spots on reverse and a small portion at lower left corner torn away, despite faults an attractive and scarce pane, cat £570+
1902 'One Penny' (type 4) on 4d dull mauve and orange, pane of sixty (6 x 10) showing the complete setting with four examples of the variety Tall narrow 'O' in 'One', pos. 1/1, 5/3, 5/5 and 7/4 (SG 17/a), brilliant o.g. with most u/m, light creasing and trivial separation (sensibly reinforced) but exceptionally fresh, a very scarce and interesting multiple from which the margins were removed prior to surcharging. Only 620 panes issued, cat £518+
Selection on album pages, mostly mint incl 1890 4d to 7d in corner blocks of four, and single values to 5s, 1897 Jubilee ½d to 1s, 1902 vals to 5s, 1907 vals to 5s, 1921-32 vals to 10s with additional 1½d red-brown lower two rows from the sheet, etc, a few with light overall gum toning etc, but mostly good to fine (89 Items)
1924-33 Small range incl one of each value ½d to 3s (2d used), also a number of varieties comprising Broken mainmast 5d, 8d (in horiz pair - faults) and 1s, Torn Flag 1d (toned perfs - in horiz pair) and 8d (lower marginal block of four (toned gum) and Cleft rock 1d, 2d in corner pair and 3d, generally with gum toning or light bends etc, still a useful lot (29)
1921-34 4c sage-green and carmine, die II lower right corner block of four, the upper right stamp variety Open 'C', pos. 9/6 of the right pane, the lower right stamp with small colourless dot in think frame line below 'M' (SG 226/a/var), with plate number '16' in lower margin, very light trace of hinging on upper pair otherwise fine o.g., lovely colours a fine and most attractive positional multiple from the 1927 printing
1938-49 10c rose-red upper left corner block of twenty (4 x 5) left, the fourth stamp on the left row variety Sliced 'S' at top, pos. 4/1 of the left pane and 8/4 right pane (SG 256/a), showing control '3' in top margin, a few light gum bends, otherwise fine u/m, very fresh and a wonderful positional multiple
1938-49 10c deep reddish rose lower right corner block of eighteen (6 x 3) with inter pane margin at left, stamp 4 variety Sliced 'S' at top, pos. 4/1 of the left pane and 8/4 right pane (SG 256b/ba), hinged on first stamp only and in margin, a couple of light gum bends, otherwise (including variety) fine u/m, very fresh and a wonderful positional multiple
1909-27 Universal Postage 1d three multiples comprising (Jones) upper left corner block of six (3 x 2) with mis-perforation into the margin due to pre-printing paper fold fine u/m, (De La Rue) horizontal strip of three with off-set on reverse affecting all three stamps (light crease on left stamp) large part o.g. and another horizontal strip of three (Cowan) the middle stamp with the 'N' flaw, the variety large part o.g.a very interesting trio
