The hinged lid is unique in that it carries a detailed carved oblong vignette of Longwood Camp, St. Helena, where the Boer P.O.W.`s were housed. A carved legend states `Souvenir - DE - LONGWOOD - St Helena 1902` and a faint quotation in small print "FAIT - PAR - IN - FR - DE - GUERRE". Provenance: The Greenwall Collection (1)
